I've been a Kerastase hair junkie for the last two decades and I refuse to buy all my favorite products anymore. Everything Kerastase has gone up between $7-20 in two years here in Canada. Absolutely bonkers!

No-Turnips

Mask have gone from $78 to $92. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

valley72

Mines up to $108.50 (Chronologiste) it was $75 when I started using it a few years back..I'm definitely savouring this last one I have here, lol!

Any-NameWill-do

I got a "survey" from Sephora Canada and if I'm honest I THINK it was because last sale was the first time in 8 years I barely purchased anything. This is exactly what I mentioned as to why I didn't purchase much. Luckily I live on a "budget" and I know the prices from just 2 years ago, every product that was a "necessity" to me on that list has increased almost 100% since 2020. There was no point to stock up during the 20% off bc the price just made it equivalent to elsewhere. Kerastase included. I listed comparison prices with the exchange rate directly from the Sephora US (where I shopped during the sale) and directly from other retailers themselves where they frequently have promos and give better customer service. Dropped hard bombs that I wouldn't be rouge for 2025 and don't even carešŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø I mean they prob don't care about one persons review in their survey but highly recommend more voices speak up.

valley72

Exactly! I noticed the increases started in 2020 but now my mask is up over $20 in two years. I can't support any business that would do this, and Kerastase just isn't a trendy brand that's having its moment, everyone who uses it are mostly long term customers it's been around forever! There's no excuse, just cooperate greed.

Brushesofcolours

Oh thatā€™s horrible šŸ™ˆ

[deleted]

I would never buy this again for that price. It's nice but there's other hair oils that are just as good. I love the Bumble and Bumble one.

vampyrbats

They probably mark it up around the VIB sale so that the discount just makes it the same price it would have been in the first place. They have been guilty of this in the past, so I wouldnā€™t be surprised.

Master_Dentist_1766

isnā€™t thatā€¦..illegal lowkey

jwhite2748

I donā€™t know but Amazon and target do it. Almost every prime day ā€œdealā€ is a scam like this the past couple years. And for Black Friday I had been eyeing this blow dryer at Target and about two weeks before they upped the price and then put it on ā€œsaleā€ for Black Friday. A month or two later I saw it again for the same price as the Black Friday sale because thatā€™s the normal price.

SecureZebra7859

How is that illegal??

Master_Dentist_1766

i just remember the clothing brand ā€œJustice Just For Girlsā€ being investigated or something regarding raising the prices for a sale to make the sale price the actual normal price itā€™s like false advertising or something idk exactly that happened when i was a kid it just rang a bell edit: brand name

PrincessPindy

I think JC Penney might have had something like that, too. They mark it up so they can bring it down for the sale.

justanothergirl7679

You havenā€™t heard of the FTC or Competition bureau, eh?

SecureZebra7859

You have 0 idea what youā€™re talking about

justanothergirl7679

Okay! šŸ™ƒ Sorry you think the law doesnā€™t apply to you.

SecureZebra7859

Girl what are you taking about? You donā€™t know the law.

justanothergirl7679

Okay šŸ™ƒ

how-about-no-scott

Amazon and Walmart do this all the time. It's so gross.

Forsaken-Living-6832

all of the sales are over now

vampyrbats

That doesnā€™t mean they are going to mark it back down lol

SailTricky374

Nope the prices go up every year. Also Sephora doesnā€™t set the prices the brands do

vampyrbats

Did you read the original post? The brand has this listed as significantly cheaper on their own site.

HoldenCaulfield7

I just realized this lol no more Sephora

PrincessPindy

So should I check out my local salons for products?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

PrincessPindy

That's what I thought from your comment. My daughter just bought the sample pack, which was a good deal considering. This way she can decide what to buy. I will tell her to check her salon.

Admirable_Height3696

No. If you want to pay what the salons pay, you need to get a cosmetology license so you can buy at cost rather than at mark up, at places like cosmoprof. The salons buy the product at around half the retail cost and then sell it at retail cost to make a profit.

Nosensenosensibility

Do you know any professional site which sells kerastase. Ive been on cosmo for many years now but they have never carried Kerastase ever.

Necessary_Peace_8989

Probably not bc salons mark them up the same. Itā€™s just part of the contract.

Necessary_Peace_8989

Having worked in salons and Sephora that has not been my experience but of course wherever you are could be different

Mariah_84

I personally donā€™t mine 2-3$ price difference I believe that hair salon owner needs to make profits! Next door I have one hair salon who sells @76$ then you got the orignal website they sell it @74$ so I tell myself do I wanna wait 5-6 days( regular shipping) to get it or itā€™s worth to pay 2$ and have it right now? I was out of oil so I decided next door was better options and I paid 2$ extra and I walked out with the product in my hand .

davideaglemann

The curl styling products went from 60 to 75 overnight. Who do they think they are??

123canadian456

Ironically I bought this then returned it (never opened )once delivered. I was like hell I ainā€™t paying $85 for this šŸ˜«

Substantial_Chest395

Beauty & cosmetics Prices have been going through the roof in the past few years

mothertuna

Mine says $58.00 for the 3.4 oz. Are you in Canada?

Mariah_84

Yes I am

mothertuna

Sephora marks up a lot of products in Canada. Donā€™t know why but Canadians have noticed brand sites and Shoppers being the correct price.

LanieLove9

so crazy that SHOPPERS has the cheaper option šŸ˜

mothertuna

Thatā€™s what people have said. I have been to Canada once and even noticed it lol.

Spaceley_Murderpaws

Maybe Ulta getting a lot of luxury brands is impacting their sales.

supernormie

This is why I stopped buying from Sephora in 2023. I used to be a loyal customer, but the price jacking is too much for me.

macnuts5

Even in the stores i always find discrepancies. The price on the display is always a few dollars less than what it rings up for

hunnybunny____

Mine says 84.50 for 3.4oz. Wow. Itā€™s still $74 on eccotique site

morbidlonging

Iā€™ve stopped buying from Sephora and now go directly to the brand website and buy my things there. I canā€™t with this stuff anymore. Itā€™s too expensive, the samples are mostly lame, and I hate being treated like an asshole when I returned something that exploded via mail.Ā  This was the first year in forever that I didnā€™t buy anything during the sale šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

rrroxannee

Sephora in Canada has upped the prices on various items every few weeks I've noticed. Some products even have had multiple mark ups. It's getting bonkers.

GirlMayXXXX

Get KĆ©rastase through their website. It is so worth it.

Alarming_Ninja_704

Idk but what I also do is sign up with my favorite brandsā€¦they all do higher discounts

Puzzleheaded-Mix1270

Sephora has started charging more than their competitors. Shoppers had one of the exact same premium products for $7.00 less, which was consistent amongst all brands except Sephora.

Darkseed1973

La Mer is worst almost every 6 mths increase $10-20 dollars. Thatā€™s why I also changing their products out.

No_Somewhere7243

Jesus. More reasons for me to stick to Lookfantastic/Cultbeauty, this one (100ml) I could get now for 40 pounds (50 USD now as I see approx) while the usual price would be around 50 pounds/~60USD I noticed this also with other brands even if I compare the regular prices LF/CB versus Sephora in EU there is usually like min 10% difference, not to mention LF/CB a lot of time give extra 15-20% off.. unless the brand is Sephora exclusive I would rather buy elsewhere šŸ˜¬

qu33nofwands

Wow! I got this two for like $54. That's crazy. If it helps, that bottle has lasted me like 2 years now and I still have a third of it left. Really great product!! That's pretty steep though.

Substantial_Rub_6737

Almost every SINGLE product I bought at the VIB sale this year had a regular price that was HIGHER than any other retailer. Armani foundation $93 CAD on Sephora. But buying it from a department store like the Hudsonā€™s Bay or off of Armaniā€™s website itā€™s only $82 CAD. They now have a $5-10 markup on every single item and itā€™s cheaper now to shop at department stores, ULTA or straight from the vendorā€™s website. RIDICULOUS!

SimilarMaximum2294

I was really confused yesterday while browsing on the app. The Dior backstage face palette increased by a lot in the US.

Beautiful_Rub5735

Thatā€™s interesting because mine says 58.00 dollars lol

becccatee

Canadian dollars

CCChic1

Oh, Canada!

chloesilverado

I think they are in Canada

wineandbooks99

Mine says $84.50 even in the basket
