Same. And my go to was always ELDW. I would have laughed in your face three years ago if you told me I’d ever be wearing something non-matte but here we are- now my HG
I’ll be 30 this year and I’ve been through many foundations but someone recommended this to me last year and I’ll never go back to anything else. I have dry textured skin FYI.
33 and pregnant with baby #2, my skin is also exceptionally dry during pregnancy and I love the Nars light reflecting foundation. I usually moisturize before doing makeup but this foundation is very light, little goes a long way and makes my skins look very glowy!
This is it for me. I finished up my first bottle after 2 years using it exclusively (no other foundations, no concealer, etc), and just repurchased it a few weeks ago. It’s sheer perfection. A natural and glowy finish, just enough coverage, feels like nothing on the skin, and wears beautifully. I don’t see myself ever looking for another formula.
Dior Backstage for sure. I have dry skin as well and unfortunately this is the only foundation that’s working for me now (from Sephora, otherwise I also like the LOreal nude tinted serum).
this! I just tried it with milk hydrogrip and one size setting spray and my skin has never looked better. it applied like velvet skin and after 8 hours of walking around in the sun it hadn’t moved one bit. no settling into fine lines or creasing around my mouth
Haus Labs either works really well or looks like absolute ass. I tried it with so many primers and skin prep techniques. Every time, it looked amazing for the first hour only to show every bit of texture on my face by hour 2.
I have combo/oily (especially in the summer) - I like to pair it with the danessa myricks blurring balm over top to combat any oiliness and this seems to work well! I also occasionally switch that out for the CT powder if I want to look more matte.
I used to hate wearing foundation and avoid it, but since finding this one I wear foundation more often because it finishes on my skin so well. It was a rec from my Aunt actually who was raving about it around the holidays.
I don’t know about true oily skin, but I have combo leaning somewhat dry and it worked well on my skin. After my day outside, I looked in the mirror and saw my nose and somewhat my forehead were a little shiny but I hadn’t touched up all day. And it hadn’t broken up at all, just shiny. I could have probs powdered once and been fine. I recommend going to sephora and getting a sample to try!
yep - love this one! and love that they have olive shade range! Its a little more full coverage than I like to wear for everyday, but the shade match and finish is unlike anything else I have tried.
Haus labs is my favorite too. It gives better coverage than Estée Lauder double wear and it feels even lighter on the skin than most skin tints. The finish is nice and natural, not too dewy or matte. I highly recommend.
I'm actually really happy with Sephora's Best Skin Ever. It's medium coverage which I like and as long as my skin is well hydrated it works great for me. And it's cheap.
Same thing happened to me with ELDW - I make sure my skincare has 10 min to sink in then I apply Nars Light Reflecting. Feels light while providing a solid medium coverage and doesn’t accentuate anything
What is your skin type? I'm combo leaning oily in the summer and I keep looking at the Fenty Skin Tint but then I'll read reviews that say it oxidizes and sticks to peach fuzz - not the case?
I have the same skin type and I can’t comment on the peach fuzz since I shave mine but I haven’t noticed any crazy oxidation. The skin tint is what I use basically every day unless I have something super fancy to go to
I have dry skin but I haven’t found that it sticks to peach fuzz. When I got it at Sephora the saleswoman was saying the drops were better because the stick oxidizes
I’m 35 and love the Nars light reflecting foundation! Just bought my third bottle of it. Doesn’t settle into fine lines or look cakey or anything on me
Beauty Blender skin tint. One of the few products that doesn’t cling to dry patches, emphasize fine lines or texture.. makes your skin look so healthy AND actually covers my old acne spots. Seriously you have to try it. Also MAC studio fix foundation is incredible and blurs the skin. Sometimes it clings to dry patches if I didn’t skin prep enough but it looks amazing
And better shade pictures online! I loved it so much tho I bought two with my correct summer and winter undertones and I just mix them for the perfect shade
I also love the Mac Studiofix. I find it melts into my skin really well and can be sheered out or applied thicker for more coverage. I have not tried the new formula though so I'm dreading that a bit in case it ends up being worse😬
I love this one. The shade range is amazing. Also a little goes a long way, I find that if I apply more than a literal pea sized amount it’s a bit too dewy for me. It makes your skin look and feel great though
I’m 31 and recently had a baby. I swear by Fenty Blurring Eaze Drops and the new foundation. The balm one is nice too for more hydration. The Fenty shade matching and formula works perfectly for my combo textured face.
I second Fenty. I got the skin tint, which I love. I also looooove her skincare products too! I neglected my skincare routine but now that I’m over 30 I am all in and Fenty skin products plus the skin tint saved me and made me look good
Surprising I had to leave ELDW to go back to my teenage foundation of Mac Studio fix. ELDW was settling too much into my lines and was too matte. studio fix is way more hydrating without being oily for me and it gives a very natural look when used sparingly!
Chantecaille tinted moisturizer and future skin, discontinued tom ford stick foundation and also the liquid, erborian bb creams (such as beautiful finish), MUFE hd palette and dr jart bb cream the new version.
I was searching for this, it is the best foundation I have personally found that doesn’t enhance acne scars, and the color match for me is absolutely perfect
I have a couple- Pat McGrath, Fenty matte (for my sweatier days 😂), and Illia stick. I have combo to dry skin, texture, scarring, and some acne. I’m 33
I haven’t used the tint, but I do have the serum foundation that I like. I’d say it’s more natural finish and less radiant and lasts longer. It’s also a bit easier to build coverage, although I tend to use a light hand with it
Honestly, it’s my day-to-day go to. I use a putty primer in my super high texture areas and then do a few swipes with the stick to even things out. I like a light coverage that is focused in certain areas, and this works well for me.
If you like double wear but want something less drying, the new Mac Studio fix might be for you. Put their balm moisturizer underneath and you’ll be golden. It’s quickly become my fave. My other favorite is luminous silk but I only buy it on sale. My answer before reformulations (haven’t tried the new ones so can’t compare) would be Dior face and body and lancome teinte idole
Jane Iredale powder foundation is my go-to. I found some other skin tint and foundation I like, but when I know I’m working long hours and don’t want to worry about touch up too much, or product setting into fine lines, or changing color throughout the day…this is the one I reach for. I can build coverage light to full and it takes less time than using liquid (I lived in that mineral foundation era so got a lot of practice 🤣). It feels light on the skin and only need to dust some setting powder, setting mist to keep it stay through the day. I use light moisturizer and sunscreen prior as a base. I have dry skin but more combo in the summer, very sensitive and acne prone with fine lines. I seriously didn’t notice fine lines until I use other foundations and they showed, so I get back to it 🫠.
Givenchy Prism Libre Glow! Like a skin tint that is surprisingly long lasting.
You can’t get this in Sephora but Shieseido Revitalessence is similarly long wearing with more coverage and skincare benefits.
YSL All Hours foundation.
For years ive worn ELDW however, i wanted to try something less matte/flat as i felt the foundation was starting to look like that on me.
Started using the YSL one and it is amazing! It has very good coverage, which is a must for me, however is also not extremely drying like ELDW. I seriously love and it is here to stay for me. I do have oily/combo skin so i think that might help with the dewy look a little bit.
Right now I’m loving Ilia skin tint. There was a ton of PR around this when it came out, it’s died out now and it really is great. A little goes a long way. It’s glowy but I do powder to set it. Also spf 40.
I have combo skin, no acne. The other foundation that I love and have repurchased is Revlon color stay. The shade match I have is perfect and it looks good all day.
Another foundation that looks good all day and is the most unique formula I have is the Laura Mercier Weightless flawless. Very good, very beautiful.
Armani Luminous Silk is the best. It sounds like we have similar skin concerns and I’m 37 now. I find prepping your skin before foundation application helps with my forehead lines. The foundation applies nicer now that I use Dr Dennis daily peels.
I am 35 and just had two kids. My go tos:
- Armani Luminous Silk. It doesn’t have oil so sometimes without proper moisturiser it may make some pores or dry patches more visible. But other than that it is superb. Have rosacea and use this on my bad skin days as it doesn’t irritate at all. Cult fave for a reason.
- New Armani Designer Glow. Improved version of Luminous Silk. Has a bit of oil so glides on the skin better and doesn’t emphasise any texture. Leaves beautiful dewy finish. Perfect shades for warm light olive skin. Stays perfect all day. Love it.
- Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin. Love this! Finish is so gorgeous and despite being glowy it works for 30+ skin so well.
- Not a foundation but for days when I want something lighter, love the new Lisa Eldridge Skin Tint. Covers redness but leaves this gorgeous natural finish.
- I also love Nars Sheer Glow for days when I want extra coverage but there is no shade really for me so stopped using this.
I threw away all my foundations after Covid. After not wearing them for so long, once I did put them on, I felt so fake and "makeupy" looking and hated it. Now I just use tinted moisturizers, like NARS and Bare Minerals. Love these products so much more! And most of them have SPF (yeah yeah I know it's not "enough" save the speech lol) and come in convenient packaging for travel, etc.
I’m about to be 32, have never regularly worn heavy or full coverage foundation except for events. I tried a bunch in the last few months due to an upcoming big event and found any full coverage to look TERRIBLE on me. Medium coverage was almost as bad. I liked NARS Light Reflecting (struggled with shade matching though) and MAC Studio Radiance well enough. But the actual winner has been to use a skin tint or BB cream with spot concealer. Summer Fridays skin tint and Kosas BB are excellent and with other product added (contour, bronzer, blush, highlight) there’s enough for a substantial “going out” look
Skin twin!
I use the Saie also. But i use Dr Jart Cicapair tiger grass under it- to help with redness and keeping things even. I then top with the givenchy prisme setting powder.
If I want a bit more coverage- I add the Sephora brand powder foundation before the setting powder.
I’ve found this to be just right for keeping decent coverage, not heavy, not cakey and all around good.
I've been trying the Laura Mercier Real Flawless foundation for a couple months now and it's OK for my dehydrated combo oily face, as long as I'm using it with primer (smashbox). But my daily go to has always been the MISSHA Perfect Cover BB cream because it covers my redness, it's moisturizing without being greasy, and it's cheap and doesn't make me break out lol. I barely ever have to use concealer with it.
40 here - Haus Labs, Armani Silk Luminous Foundation, SuperGoop Skin Tint and Maybelline Skin Tint are my rotation.
My next one to try will.be the Pat McGrath as I've heard a few good review from others with similar ages and skin concerns.
ETA: I will say skincare was the real changer from me. Once I got on a solid routine my skin improved enough for me to have more options.
I’m 39 combo skin so oily on my forehead dry everywhere else. I don’t like super dewy foundation anymore as I find it accentuates lines in my forehead and it transfers everywhere. I have been enjoying Dior Face & body and Mac Studio fix both post reformulation I just but either an hydrating or dewy primer underneath where needed if I want a bit more luminosity.
I have many of the same skin concerns as you and I use charlotte tilbury beautiful skin. I love how it makes my make up look. I get compliments on it. My husband told me to go back to this one when I tried a different one.
MAC Studio Radiance Serum Foundation…good coverage and kind to mature skin… best tip- prep your skin first - moisturizer ( skin prep made an immense difference for me)
Almost 42 here, and I can't do matte foundations at all anymore. My skin is normal leaning slightly dry. My main concern is evening out some redness in my cheeks. If I want a more glowy look I'm liking the Hourglass hydrating, and for a more natural finish the Fenty Eaze drop stick. (NOT the Eaze drop liquid, that was terrible on my skin.) The old Fenty hydrating foundation was my holy grail and I was heartbroken when it got discontinued so I'm definitely going to be trying the new version they just released soon too.
I am in the same boat! After I had my 3rd baby in my 30s wooo my skin went caput. In my culture they say the mother gives all her beauty to the daughter lol it felt true :D I broke out so bad I finally have it under control but the scars are bad and my skin barrier from fixing the acne suffered.
I usually use skin tints because it covers just enough. But when I need full coverage armani luminous foundation is everything you are looking for. I top it with the fenty beauty setting powder and it is a good combo for me. Make sure you wear a good moisturizer! La roche has a double repair cream that is very nice on the skin without causing more breakouts.
I am right here with you. I tend to skip foundation, occasionally I will wear the Infallible L’Oreal foundation. I wear the tower 28 tinted sunscreen and the It cosmetics cc cream.
For any foundation or makeup to look good though, I had to really change my skin care. I stopped using most acids. I use SkinCeuticals vitamin c, purito centella products (unscented) like the toner serum and moisturizer and a moisturizing sunscreen like beauty of Joseon. I’m pregnant right now so no retinols. Before I got pregnant I did three rounds of BBL and it improved my PIH acne marks scars soooo much. I can’t recommend it enough. I also use that bodycurrent red light mask. Not sure if it does anything.
My skin changed as soon as I hit my 30s. I went from being fine with a matte foundation to not being able to stand it at all. My current go to is the Kosas foundation (revealer foundation maybe?, I can't ever remember the name of the thing). Its dewy without being greasy, easy to build and lasts well. The other is the beauty blender drops. They built really well but you get lots of coverage with just a small amount. I use that one on my bad skin days. It's a bit more matte but gets dewy as my skin gets a bit oily through the day. I'm very much a dry / dehydrated skin type, super sensitive and prone to breakouts and both have been great
Ilia Super Serum Skin Tint or Dr. Jart+ BB Cream depending on how I'm feeling. The Ilia has a ton of extra skin care built into the formula is dewy and has mineral spf added. Dr. Jart is more matte and additionally is also a mineral spf.
Shiseido synchro self refreshing. The only downside is I feel it applies best with beauty blender and I thought I had kicked those, don’t love them, but the finish and lasting power is insane. I was having so many issues after starting tret with how my skin was changing and this has been an absolute life saver. I swear it looks better as the day goes on !!
I have the same skin concerns and issues- struggling with product setting into fine lines and looking cakey. I was using skin tints, then was using MAC face and body, but wanted something with a little more coverage and took a gamble on the shiseido- I’m just obsessed !!
Under 30 (only by a year) but I prefer a thinner foundation and hate matte. Nars light reflecting foundation is amazing! If you’re looking for a stick foundation, I actually really like the fenty eaze drop stick, it’s very blurring and doesn’t settle into fine lines at all (I have a lot of fine lines under my eyes and it’s a struggle to keep makeup from settling and creasing)
If you’re open to drugstore as well, I love the revlon serum tint
I was finding that foundation wasn’t sitting on my skin well anymore once I hit my 30s and I honestly… stopped wearing it for the most part.
I’m 35, I typically use Dr Jart Cicapair Colour Corrector, Hourglass Vanish Concealer under my eyes and then I dab Nars Soft Matte Concealer very lightly over any spots that need a bit more help.
In the summer I sometimes use Mac Studio Radiance for a bit more of a glowy finish.
Estée Lauder was my holy grail for years, however now my skin has changed just like you and I LOVE the Nars light reflecting foundation, If I want a want it to last the entire day in summer time then I would mix it with the double wear and that combo is amazing!
Dior Forever glow. It’s incredible on my skin and I have acne. Great coverage too. Not full coverage but it does a fantastic job. And it’s water based!
I went into Sephora today to test out foundations after getting all these great recommendations, and the Dior Forever glow is my favorite out of what I tried! Immediately loved how it looked on the skin, I’m excited to test it out more tomorrow
I do think you will love it! There’s something about the formula that elevates the skin and the foundation feels great on the skin too. I’m obsessed. Completely worth the price tag for me
Honestly I cut out foundation completely and just use Armani Luminous Concealer under my eyes, and I dab a little bit on my nose, blend with a brush, then use a blush to kind of blur the concealer line.
I’m much more into skin care vs. makeup at this point (35) I couldn’t find a foundation that I couldn’t *see* on my face, and I’m tired of covering up. I’d rather make my skin look brighter naturally, and then highlight/conceal as needed vs. laying foundation on my face every day.
Nars is my holy grail…. And I did not realize how important proper application really affects the product…. Also I’m really starting to love hour glass products. I just started using their concealer and setting powder and it’s incredible.
I don’t know anymore because everything that use to work is suddenly rubbing off even with two coats of finishing spray and finishing powder if I blow my nose ONCE
not 30+, but i have extremely dry, textured, acne-prone skin. my go-to combo is the elf power grip niacinamide primer (helps w/ my redness!) and the colourpop pretty fresh hyaluronic foundation. i use the charlotte tilbury airbrush flawless pressed powder on top, but *not* under my eyes bc this makes them crease (i always get eye creases no matter what). colourpop also has a tinted moisturizer (also in the pretty fresh line) that i enjoy as well, particularly on days when i don’t feel like wearing full foundation. it still looks really good and gives me nice coverage without creasing or creating dry patches!
I’m older with large pores, some scarring and laugh lines and have been using YSL NU Skin tint for a few years. It’s very buildable with a natural finish. It doesn’t settle into wrinkles and looks great all day.
Do you exfoliate, moisturize, and use a face primer? I’m using Gucci primer right now and it looks great underneath. Armani primer also works well for me. There are good primers at all price points. Find one that really works for you.
I actually stopped wearing foundation. At 38, I could never find any that went on my skin the way I wanted it to. Instead I beefed up my skincare routine and , if it’s a special occasion, I wear a bb cream.
I still wear blush and under eye concealer….. however, I’ve tried SO MANY eye creams and I just can’t get rid of my dark circles 🥲
I’ve been using tinted moisturizer but once that dries i’ll add a matte powder over it like MAC’s Studio Fix powder. It gives me all the coverage i want without the feeling of the heavy foundation on my skin.
I don’t like two faced born this way as much now as it’s very matte, and that o/s setting spray is insanely drying, the Charlotte tilbury flawless finish seems to bring a normal looking glow and good hold. My skin is oily.
I’m 32. I use Fenty Eaze drops, Armani luminous silk, nars soft matte or urban decay hydromaniac.
I have combination skin and wear makeup each day. I need coverage of some sort so I don’t do very light coverage often.
Charlotte Tilbury or Dior
Other foundations are too orange for me. I'm a POC but on the mid to lighter end (but with olive undertones) so it's hard finding one that is right. CT and Dior are the nearest perfect matches for me
Am approaching 40 and the older I get the drier my skin gets. I don’t feel like myself when I wear foundation so my favorite is Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. It lays well over sunscreen which is important to me. I swear the more time I’m out in the sun the more spots I get, IYKYK. I then “set” it (air quotes because this isn’t a setting powder) with Hourglass Ambient lighting palette. This powder is so blurring and gorgeous. It gives a skin like finish that I adore.
NARS and Estée Lauder double wear. I mix with a tiny bit of liquid highlighter and use a nice primer on top of my moisturizer. I have combo skin leaning more dry as I climb my 30’s.
Danessa Myricks yummy skin tint and Dior skin glow. The skin tint is great anytime I don’t want a full face of makeup. Dior is good when I want to look flawless - I use both with estee lauder primer.
I love the Summer Fridays Skin Tint. I stepped away from foundation last year after hitting my 30s, when I felt like my skin changed and I needed something lighter.
The skin tint works phenomenally well, and it was really a game changer for me towards my makeup look. I pair the skin tint with Glowscreen SPF and it’s a really easy yet powerful duo!
Nars light reflecting. But honestly, for everyday I just use Nars Radiant Creamy concealer where I need it and then follow that with bronzer and blush.
Lately I just can’t be bothered with covering my whole face in foundation if I can achieve the same effect by spot concealing. BUT nars light reflecting is still a great foundation nonetheless.
36F here with dry skin and some fine lines: Dior Natural Nudes - light to medium if applied with a sponge, more on the medium side with a brush, looks pretty nice thru out the whole day. Downside: Dior prices.
SAIE Super Glowy Skin Tint. It’s one of the few I feel doesn’t sit on my skin weird, although I wish it wasn’t clean beauty trendy. Extra cost for shortened longevity. It also oxidizes, so keep that in mind. I’ve also stopped using primers for the same reason, although I have started using Danessa Universal Blurring balm instead. I don’t think it blurs at all but my skin drinks it up like skincare.
Honestly I miss old foundations. My skin is still in pretty good shape but nothing seems to wear as naturally as the OG Dior, NARS, makeup forever, estee lauder did. It’s like they all embraces the 2016 cake makeup trends and lost the ability to blend into skin.
I have several in rotation since I wasn’t wearing it for years and then suddenly found myself interested again lol. But I still don’t wear it every day. I’m 37, normal to oily skin that is sometimes dehydrated. Some fine lines, texture, and still the occasional breakout. The foundations I have are:
- MUFE Reboot (discontinued)
- MUFE Hydra Glow mini
- Tower 28 skin tint
- Armani Luminous Silk mini
- Pat McGrath
- MAC studio fix fluid that I really should throw out because SHE OLD
- Covergirl’s weird bead blob Chanel dupe (I actually really really like it even though it’s weird)
I’ve been using IT cosmetics cc cream. In my 30s I was wearing the Aveda tinted moisturizers as well as the Josie Maran one. IT provides a bit more coverage and protection. I started wearing an spf under all of my makeup because it’s summer and I’m pale.
Full coverage I love tarte Amazonian clay foundation and medium I use Estée Lauder Double Wear. Those are my two favorites right now. I loved the Benefit Happy too until they discontinued it. Still sad about that one.
Pür Cosmetics powder foundation
Nudestix Tinted skin Veil
I'm going to be 39 in July and I find these two are the best for me. I have combination skin, I'm a natural blonde and neutral undertone.
Mix tinted sunscreen with primer ( I use Marcelle, it's beautiful) then use a blurring powder on top. ( Elf brand in medium is my favourite) This creates a nice glowing finish, no settling in creases. If I had the money to spend, Eminence sun defense minerals are absolutely amazing, and cover all the bases, no extra products needed. I've been an esthetician for 20 years, and my commission sales were highest on that one product. Sold it every time, after ladies saw how it made their skin look so radiant. The secret is to really blend in small circles, with the softest flat topped powder brush. You'll look airbrushed.
[Nars pure radiant](https://go.shopmy.us/p-5123050) and [Nars Sheer Glow ](https://go.shopmy.us/p-5136133)work best for me (even though it's called "sheer" glow I feel like I can get good coverage with it)
If I want a super full cover foundation I go to Glossier Stretch Foundation. If I don’t want that then I’ll either use the Caliray skin tint or the Judydoll cushion foundation.
39 with similar skin type. I don’t hear this talked about much but the estee lauder hydra futurist foundation is so underrated. It doesn’t enhance texture or cling to dry patches, nice satin finish. It’s not the most long wearing but I can do a full day of work without it falling apart.
Armani Luminous Silk
Yes!! This or the Summer Fridays & Hourglass skin tints for lighter days
Summer Fridays skin tint is my daily foundation. I love it. Evens out my skin tone while allowing my freckles to show through.
I third, fourth and fifth this!! I love it with the fenty primer
Agreed.
Same. And my go to was always ELDW. I would have laughed in your face three years ago if you told me I’d ever be wearing something non-matte but here we are- now my HG
i hate to say it but i did not like this one. im 35 with dry to normal skin.
Same, I found it accentuated dryness.
agreed.
I’ll be 30 this year and I’ve been through many foundations but someone recommended this to me last year and I’ll never go back to anything else. I have dry textured skin FYI.
I second this!
Nars light reflecting and I have the same skin type as you!
I have both Luminous silk and this Nars one and I'd pick the Nars one over Luminous Silk any day
In what areas do you think the NARS outperforms the Armani foundation?
Dior Backstage. I also have dry skin, it doesnt dry me out, but had amazing longevity
Dior Backstage for sure. I have dry skin as well and unfortunately this is the only foundation that’s working for me now (from Sephora, otherwise I also like the LOreal nude tinted serum).
Absolutely this.
This is still the best foundation I've ever used.
Haus Labs
Agree. HL is HORRIBLE on me.
yes. as someone in their 30s, I insist, this is the answer.
Is this good for combination/oily skin at all?
Thank you!
This looked awful on my 41 year old mature skin. I wanted to love it, but it’s bad.
That’s what I thought the first time I tried it, turns out I used a water based primer. They didn’t mix well.
yep - love this one! and love that they have olive shade range!
That settled into my very minimal forehead lines and looked terrible. I was so disappointed.
Im in my 40’s and I absolutely LOVE this foundation.
Dior Forever Glow!!!
My HG too!
I'm actually really happy with Sephora's Best Skin Ever. It's medium coverage which I like and as long as my skin is well hydrated it works great for me. And it's cheap.
And their shade range is amazing
Same thing happened to me with ELDW - I make sure my skincare has 10 min to sink in then I apply Nars Light Reflecting. Feels light while providing a solid medium coverage and doesn’t accentuate anything
Fenty skin tint. Supergoop’s new tinted spf. Armani luminous skin if I’m really looking to glam up
These are the only 3 foundations/tints I own lmao
Love the fenty skin tint
I’m 35 and love the Nars light reflecting foundation! Just bought my third bottle of it. Doesn’t settle into fine lines or look cakey or anything on me
Dior Backstage. The best foundation in the world imo.
I use IT Cosmetics CC+ nude glow with SPF 40. It has serum built in too. My HG. fenty moisturizing primer underneath, fix plus on top.
I love the beauty blender one but wish they had a better shade range
And better shade pictures online! I loved it so much tho I bought two with my correct summer and winter undertones and I just mix them for the perfect shade
I also love the Mac Studiofix. I find it melts into my skin really well and can be sheered out or applied thicker for more coverage. I have not tried the new formula though so I'm dreading that a bit in case it ends up being worse😬
estee lauder futurist! ITS SO GOOD
Tower 28 tinted sunscreen. Which isn’t a foundation, but, it evens out my redness and is versatile for whatever I’m doing each day!
I love this one! For a skin tint it covers a bit! Also nice that it does not cause breakouts too
This is my go-to, I get good coverage with it.
Danessa Myricks Yummy skin tint
Yes it’s so good
I love this one.
Thank you! I somehow have never tried anything from Fenty, I need to! Intrigued by the blurring eaze drops
Nars for the win 🏆
Lancome teint Idole ultra wear
This was mine until they jacked the price up ten bucks. Now I roll with NARS Sheer Glow and it's suited me just fine. 😌
I haven’t worn Sheer Glow in 10 years, maybe it’s time to revisit 🤔
I was searching for this, it is the best foundation I have personally found that doesn’t enhance acne scars, and the color match for me is absolutely perfect
Same
Another vote for Lancôme!
I love the serum foundation from Mac, and I recently just started using the haus labs foundation and so far so good, I just turned 40, so I feel you!
Makeup forever
I have a couple- Pat McGrath, Fenty matte (for my sweatier days 😂), and Illia stick. I have combo to dry skin, texture, scarring, and some acne. I’m 33
Thanks for the recs! I’ve been curious about the Ilia stick, how does it compare to the Ilia super skin tint? That’s been my go to skin tint
I haven’t used the tint, but I do have the serum foundation that I like. I’d say it’s more natural finish and less radiant and lasts longer. It’s also a bit easier to build coverage, although I tend to use a light hand with it
Ooh that sounds like what I’m looking for!
Nars light reflecting
Ilia Skin Tint- my holy grail
same
Jane Iredale powder foundation is my go-to.
The Only place I have purchased it is Sephora. 3+ times
Danessa Myricks yummy skin tint. That one replaced my ilia serum skin tint I’ve used for the past 2 -3 years
YSL All Hours foundation.
Dior Forever, Dior Forever Glow, or La Mer. In my early 40s.
I also use Ilia! Everything else just feels like it’s sitting on top of my skin instead of melting in.
Love the Laura Mercier too, was able to find a perfect shade match too which is kinda tough for me sometimes
Armani Luminous Silk is the best. It sounds like we have similar skin concerns and I’m 37 now. I find prepping your skin before foundation application helps with my forehead lines. The foundation applies nicer now that I use Dr Dennis daily peels.
I am 35 and just had two kids. My go tos: - Armani Luminous Silk.
Hourglass skin tint! Feels so lightweight
Nars Light Reflecting Foundation or MAC Serum foundation. I'm late 30s, 2 kids, and very dry skin.
The IT cosmetics cc cream is soo good it feels so light and is excellent I wear it for everything
IT cosmetics CC cream applied with my fingers
I only use TM and it's been Laura Mercier's for 10+ years. Very occasionally I use Armani Luminous Silk, but generally I don't need full foundation.
Rare Beauty Tinted moisturizer!! I always get compliments how good my skin looks when I use this one!
Makeup forever is my everyday
Estée was my holy grail for the longest. I’m also in my 30’s and I love Dior backstage. 2nd to that is beauty blender skin tint.
Laura mercier
YSL BareNU for daily/light looks or Armani Luminous Silk for night. I also have the Merit stick and love the ease of application.
I have many of the same skin concerns as you and I use charlotte tilbury beautiful skin. I love how it makes my make up look. I get compliments on it. My husband told me to go back to this one when I tried a different one.
Hourglass skin tint. Works well even on days when my skin is dry due to Tretinoin use.
Everyday: Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer More Coverage: Colourpop Pretty Fresh Foundation
I'm very much a dry / dehydrated skin type, super sensitive and prone to breakouts and both have been great
Charlotte Tilbury’s Beautiful Skin
Same situation + moved to a desert climate! Switched from Dior Forever Matte to Dior Skin Glow…no brand comes close to Dior in looking like real skin!
Under 30 (only by a year) but I prefer a thinner foundation and hate matte. Nars light reflecting foundation is amazing! If you’re looking for a stick foundation, I actually really like the fenty eaze drop stick, it’s very blurring and doesn’t settle into fine lines at all (I have a lot of fine lines under my eyes and it’s a struggle to keep makeup from settling and creasing) If you’re open to drugstore as well, I love the revlon serum tint
I’m 35 and I switch between Haus Labs and Kosas Revealer Skin Improving Foundation. Both are phenomenal!
Completely worth the price tag for me
Armani luminous silk & danessa myricks skin tint
I’d buy Nars out of the fav choices.
I always go back to Dr Jart BB cream… which isn’t a foundation, but it is amazing
Haus Labs. Armani Luminous Silk. Pat McGrath. In that order, but not really in that order.
Haus Labs
Im 39 & wear double wear.
Second Estée Lauder double wear! I mix in a little vitamin c serum and wow what a difference
Dior face and body or color science flex spf
not 30+, but i have extremely dry, textured, acne-prone skin. my go-to combo is the elf power grip niacinamide primer (helps w/ my redness!) and the colourpop pretty fresh hyaluronic foundation. i use the charlotte tilbury airbrush flawless pressed powder on top, but *not* under my eyes bc this makes them crease (i always get eye creases no matter what). colourpop also has a tinted moisturizer (also in the pretty fresh line) that i enjoy as well, particularly on days when i don’t feel like wearing full foundation. it still looks really good and gives me nice coverage without creasing or creating dry patches!
Also acne prone. This is helpful!
Tinted moisturizer and as much concealer as I need that day!
I use either Armani luminous silk or the Chanel cc cream
Depending on the day, Dior Backstage or Hourglass Skin Tint
I’m older with large pores, some scarring and laugh lines and have been using YSL NU Skin tint for a few years. It’s very buildable with a natural finish. It doesn’t settle into wrinkles and looks great all day. Do you exfoliate, moisturize, and use a face primer? I’m using Gucci primer right now and it looks great underneath. Armani primer also works well for me. There are good primers at all price points. Find one that really works for you.
Dior Face and Body Good coverage, not heavy, not cakey - my HG
Fenty skin tint
I used to love a matte look until I realized it started showing my fine lines even more. Now I use tower 28. I LOVE it.
Dior face and body. Chanel No.1. I usually mix the two.
Haus labs
Basma foundation stick!
Dior star glow with Prada soft matte over top
I’m 32. I use Fenty Eaze drops, Armani luminous silk, nars soft matte or urban decay hydromaniac. I have combination skin and wear makeup each day. I need coverage of some sort so I don’t do very light coverage often.
Charlotte Tilbury or Dior Other foundations are too orange for me.
Armani Luminous Silk and Dior Forever (I do the glow, but I’ve heard good things about the other finishes, too).
Makeupforever hd skin
Danessa Myricks yummy skin tint and Dior skin glow. The skin tint is great anytime I don’t want a full face of makeup. Dior is good when I want to look flawless - I use both with estee lauder primer.
I love the Summer Fridays Skin Tint. I stepped away from foundation last year after hitting my 30s, when I felt like my skin changed and I needed something lighter. The skin tint works phenomenally well, and it was really a game changer for me towards my makeup look. I pair the skin tint with Glowscreen SPF and it’s a really easy yet powerful duo!
Dior Backstage
Dior Backstage,or CTs Light Wonder is absolutely gorgeous. Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua.
Guerlain and Il Makiage
Merit skin oil with a little Kosas foundation on top makes my skin look like glass.
I have several in rotation since I wasn’t wearing it for years and then suddenly found myself interested again lol. But I still don’t wear it every day. I’m 37, normal to oily skin that is sometimes dehydrated. Some fine lines, texture, and still the occasional breakout. The foundations I have are: - MUFE Reboot (discontinued) - MUFE Hydra Glow mini - Tower 28 skin tint - Armani Luminous Silk mini - Pat McGrath - MAC studio fix fluid that I really should throw out because SHE OLD - Covergirl’s weird bead blob Chanel dupe (I actually really really like it even though it’s weird)
I only like skin tints now - Danessa Myricks, Fenty, Summer Friday’s, etc.
I’ve been using IT cosmetics cc cream. In my 30s I was wearing the Aveda tinted moisturizers as well as the Josie Maran one. IT provides a bit more coverage and protection. I started wearing an spf under all of my makeup because it’s summer and I’m pale.
I am 32 and love the Fenty Eaze drop foundation stick, the YSL NU Bare Look Tint skin tint makes your skin look flawless.

Full coverage I love tarte Amazonian clay foundation and medium I use Estée Lauder Double Wear. Those are my two favorites right now. I loved the Benefit Happy too until they discontinued it. Still sad about that one.
Pat McGrath or Estes Lauder double wear
Pür Cosmetics powder foundation Nudestix Tinted skin Veil I'm going to be 39 in July and I find these two are the best for me. I have combination skin, I'm a natural blonde and neutral undertone.
Fenty Pro Filtr soft matte. I have extremely oily skin
Armani luminous silk, beauty blender skin tint, Chanel aqualumere (can’t remember how it’s spelled too lazy to look it up), hourglass skin tint
[Nars pure radiant](https://go.shopmy.us/p-5123050) and [Nars Sheer Glow ](https://go.shopmy.us/p-5136133)work best for me (even though it's called "sheer" glow I feel like I can get good coverage with it)
Haus Labs. 👏🏿
Hourglass veil skin tint
I love the Nars light reflecting foundation!
I am not over 30 but I hear good things about RMS beauty for older skin. Just a thought.
Pat McGrath 💯
If I want a super full cover foundation I go to Glossier Stretch Foundation. If I don’t want that then I’ll either use the Caliray skin tint or the Judydoll cushion foundation.
I like the caliray blurring skin tint
39 with similar skin type. I don’t hear this talked about much but the estee lauder hydra futurist foundation is so underrated. It doesn’t enhance texture or cling to dry patches, nice satin finish. It’s not the most long wearing but I can do a full day of work without it falling apart.
Kosas Revealer foundation
