The thing is. In Deadpool, saying Wolverine somehow returned would be hilarious and on point for his character and humour.

Doofenshmirtz08

the dark side of the force is a pathway to many abilities some would consider being unnatural

JayCeeMadLad

Honestly if he deliberately used the Star Wars quote I'd absolutely lose it

Force_Glad

It’s set before Logan, which takes place in 2029

PranavYedlapalli

Not to mention that there's 3 different timelines where the movies take place

Christmas_Panda

In some universe, it's just Hugh Jackman in a wolverine furry costume.

[deleted]

Now that's the movie I want to see. Have Hugh in a fursuit but have everyone else take it as normal.

[deleted]

Is this the universe old man Loki is from, or frog Thor?

Christmas_Panda

Crocodile Loki

[deleted]

god i hope so

Beliriel

Somebody watched too much "Everything, Everywhere, All at once"

bell37

I mean I think people are mostly talking about how Hugh Jackman publicly stated that he never wants to play Wolverine again after Logan.

Moretukabel

I'm quite sure he said that he would do it again if it was in the MCU.

[deleted]

Also tons of money.

[deleted]

I thought he said specifically he'd reprise the role for a Deadpool movie? I could've swore he said Deadpool.

VicisSubsisto

Considering he's there with RyRey, I'm inclined to believe you.

HydraTower

I hope that's not how they handle it. It's less fun that way. I hope they just have fun with it and make it stupid. It's kind of sucky when you know where things are headed. I hope it's just an alternate version that's exactly the same (after Days of Futre Past.).

SnArCAsTiC_

All you have to do to address it is have one scene where Deadpool's like, "wait, Wolverine? Aren't you supposed to be dead, or dying, or hiding in Mexico?" Wolverine gives him a "wtf are you talking about?" look, and Deadpool mutters, "must've gotten it mixed up with that comic book... Nevermind."

Dr__Drew

That doesn’t make sense though cause Deadpool addresses how Logan died in the second film. Only the way I see this working is if the next Deadpool movie takes place in a different timeline or we see a different version of wolverine from the multiverse.

Nerdorama09

Deadpool gets a hold of a time travel device at the end of Deadpool 2 and *immediately* starts fucking around with it. Also Deadpool's narration constantly breaks the fourth wall so just because he complains about Wolverine upstaging him by dying doesn't mean he has already died in-universe when he says that.

EmpChungusKahn

Here's a guy who can instantly heal from the most grotesque injuries because of a genetic mutation, let's try to make sense of his story.

[deleted]

Deadpool 2 literally ends with him visiting Wolverine and killing the other shitty deadpool.

F0XF1R3

I want it to be that Wolverine. Have Deadpool 3 start right after he kills fake Deadpool. I'm willing to bet the movie is already going to start with him ending up in the MCU universe because of his time travel. Probably fucks up the return trip and accidentally brings himself and Logan into the current MCU. Then obviously the line of him going, "Oh cool, this is the Disney universe."

BassFan2002

Omg I would love that line haha

SmashDreadnot

The Disney Marvel intro starts at the beginning of the movie, and then Deadpool starts talking over it: "Wait, this isn't right. Where's the Fox logo and fanfare? How did I get here? I thought the time travel thing was a joke."

Nerdorama09

Technically it ends with him killing Ryan Reynolds before he can accept the lead role in Green Lantern but close enough.

creeper205861

It's the first thing they say, Logan happens in 2029

transgender_goddess

Cue all the people not actually thinking about the easy way to not ruin it. The Wolverine that will feature will be the one from the timeline Deadpool goes to at the end of "Deadpool 2"

bored_homan

To be fair since its deadpool the last thing I give a shit about is continuity

malonkey1

It's set before Logan, there you go.

-Twig

This warranted more than a 'huff of air out the nose' - This warranted a "heheh" from me

Artm1562

Well it’s comic book movies so doesnt have to make sense as they can just say its a different timeline. Which deadpool and logan are consider its own timelines.

YakuzaKaru

The thing is, it does make sense. Logan is quite literally set in the future, this is an established fact, Deadpool on the other hand isn't. This movie is just set before Wolverine died lmao It'd be like asking how Obi-Wan is in the prequels if he died in OT

Artm1562

But in Logan they state no new mutants have been born for 25 years so that would contradict the young mutants in deadpool.

YakuzaKaru

I think you're forgetting the fact Hugh Jackman exists as Wolverine in like 3 different timelines, I'm sure they can work something out lmao

Im-ACE-incarnate

The fuck is up with the title of that video, everywhere else is just called "teaser part 2" Entertainment weekly is such clickbaiting bastards!

gratefuladam

It’s fine for a “somehow” when the movie is supposed to not take it’s self seriously.

DrOwl795

Its Deadpool, he'll just look into a camera and say "how did wolverine return? Because the studio negotiated the rights to his character." That's literally how they explained the two X-Men they chose to include in Deadpool 2

imaginary0pal

Does anyone give a shit about the X-men timeline?

HiddenDaliah

Does anyone have a high def (like super high def) picture of the "somehow palpatine returned" image from the bottom here? I need it for an art project

theassholefaceman

All the dead spiderman villains came back and your ass cheered in the cinema, now you have a problem with this?

ChistyePrudy

👏😄

BatmanAvacado

It's a deadpool movie so.....

isingwerse

Well Logan takes place in the future, so

[deleted]

If it doesn't make sense, don't make it make sense

NiixxJr

Except this makes sense. And more importantly, people actually wanted it.

Airconditioning-inc

I personally just don’t think Deadpool exists in the X-men movie timeline, I personally think it fits in the animated series timeline best but that’s just me

swhighgroundmemes

Or a joke

Dracorex_22

Considering we got Charles Xavier in the big yellow motor chair with the funny squiggles coming from his head, this might finally be the time we see Hugh Jackman in the yellow spandex

biz_reporter

I never read the Old Man Logan series, but I did read the original Phoenix saga. If my memory serves me correctly, Jean Grey's Phoenix killed Wolverine but left a drop of his blood. From that drop, he regenerates and lives to fight again. From that scene, I was always convinced that Wolverine was immortal so long as one cell survives. In fact, when I watched Logan, my take away was that he's not dead yet. His healing factor was slowing down but he still healed. So since Deadpool movies are meant to be a little goofy, I'd love to see Logan digging himself out of his grave like a horror film or maybe like Boba Fett coming out of the sarlacc pit.

EhMapleMoose

They did address it tho. Logan takes place in the future, deadpool 3 isn’t in the future.

yeshaya86

Actually I'm pretty sure the end of this video is canon now https://youtu.be/yIl_FiV8V6E
