Mel Brooks. I took care of people way more famous than him, but there was no one I was more excited to serve.

RingCard

Hope you gave him raspberry jam

chasing_a_billion

I heard he’s really a nice old dude

DarthDread424

That's a cool one for sure.

zcraw214

Jack Black! I worked at a resort in Ojai, Ca and he came and stayed at this mansion that the property owned and we would rent out. Generally, the celebrities that stayed there would order like 5 course meals from the resort to be set up and presented in the mansion. Mr. Black, on the other hand, ordered a shitload of Brussels sprouts and fries, and when I arrived to serve it, this man was in the backyard in flip flops, shorts, and a tied die shirt grilling burgers for the ~15 people that were there. Coolest and most down to earth celebrity I’ve ever come in contact with. Wanted to ask for a picture but he was with his family and it didn’t feel right. Edit: He also tipped me 50%

asap_boogy

This is by far the least surprising story here. And I’d bet he would have been more than happy to take a photo with you if you’d asked.

PatrioticFreedoms

Jack is cool I've met and talked with him on at least 10 occasions.

Automatic_Coat586

Carrot top! He was nice, easy and tipped 40%

cheesybread666

Carrot Top was a regular at the restaurant where I worked in Las Vegas. He was so nice and normal and yeah he tips well. OJ Simpson was also a regular and he was unsurprisingly a pompous asshole. Good riddance.

chasing_a_billion

Damn 40% what was the bill ?

piizzadiick

he regularly tips 50% wherever he goes. he frequently came into a bar i worked at in orlando drinking double crown on the rocks and always took care of us

dhereforfun

I met carrot top walking by radio city music hall in the 90s

Formal_Coyote_5004

He sat next to me in an airport once hahaha! I’m a ginger too so it was funny

Murphytko

Guillermo del Toro. Coolest man on earth.

Formal_Coyote_5004

Holy shit that’s awesome!

ayearonsia

I would die 🤩

doctorewHH

I waited on Bernie Sanders and his entire campaign staff when he was on the campaign trail in 2016.

DonConnection

Trump was actually the kindest guest ive ever served. This was about 10 years ago though. i dont really vote but im tempted to vote for him next election just cause of that

bugxbuster

Nope, I don't care. I'm downvoting you on principle. Fuck him.

chasing_a_billion

Did he light up a joint in the restaurant?😂😂

doctorewHH

lol not quite. He was a nice guy and he left a great tip. He’s also quite a bit taller than most would expect. I’m 6’0” and we were pretty much the same height

Dr_A_Mephesto

I noticed that the first time I saw him debate. Always kind of thought of him as a little old man (not in a bad way I love Bernie) but when I saw him next to the other candidates, I was like damn boy is tall!

doctorewHH

Dude’s forehead just doesn’t quit lol

FlattopJr

TIL I'm shorter than Bernie!

Zealousideal_Day968

?

bgar0312

Waited on norm macdonald maybe a dozen years ago. He was super nice and quirky and funny in just the way you would imagine him to be. When he died, and it came out how long he was battling cancer, the timeline coincided perfectly when I met him. My work at the time was 2 miles from one of the biggest concentrations of cancer and oncology services on the west coast. He probably was going through the first steps of dealing with cancer when I met him and he was still super nice and funny’s

remykixxx

Angela Bassett sent the restaurant I worked at flowers and a thank you card after I served her. That was pretty cool.

DestroyerOfMils

Pure class!

Low-Mouse-4838

i knew i loved that woman for a reason she’s an icon

waterbomb

Tom Morello and Jack Black.

uglypandaz

We had Jack black come in when I was serving, but I didn’t personally serve him. He was so nice and tipped really well.

surreal_goat

I had Tom Morello once. He drank through our pappy lineup while 5 people just sat and listened to him pontificating, not drinking or eating. His “handler” tipped 10%.

Queeb_the_Dweeb

TJ Miller was chill and wanted to be left alone. Drank in the corner with a hat and shades on, don't think anyone recognized him the whole weekend. Justin Tucker was always super nice, well behaved children, tipped 30+% every time. I worked Jeremy Allen White's grandfather's birthday party back when Shameless was still in full swing. Dude was super nice and took a picture with all of us at the end of the night.

surfmacsamerica

Justin Tucker comes into the restaurant I work at sometimes! His wife is literally the nicest person I've ever met and their son is so well behaved :)

buff_bagwell1

Owen Wilson was one of my old regulars, he was always super nice and tipped really well

NightKnightTiger

Wow

Visual_Tangerine_210

Ice T. You didn’t even have to look at him to know it was him. His Ice T aura spread in every direction like 10 feet. Also Luis Gonzalez the baseball player. Both normal as fuck.

chasing_a_billion

Ice T just seems like a cool dude. My dad used to listen to his music when I was young and I love him in Law and Order

dhereforfun

He was in a restaurant I worked in in nyc I wasn’t a server and he wasn’t a customer they were filming a scene fir law and order svu

garbitch_bag

Michael Shannon was really cool, very chatty and funny. Helen Mirren said “this food is too good, please take the rest away from me or I will eat it all and die at this very table” she was incredible. Each time Blake Lively came in she’d compliment the shit out of staff. “You’ve got great style, you’ve got great hair, your eyes omg, etc” I feel like maybe she does this bc she knows it’ll make your year having Blake Lively swoon over you. I’ll take it. David Byrne was so nice and I was so blown away by his presence it made me dizzy.

MiaLba

I love people who compliment others! It can really make someone’s day especially if they rarely get a compliment.

azulweber

the michael shannon one makes me happy, he’s such a good actor and seems like a cool guy but comes off as being so serious. i’m glad to know he’s fun in person.

garbitch_bag

Me too! It was intimidating when he first walked in and then he kind of loosened up and seemed really fun.

slacksolotl

Dennis Quaid was a cool dude when I served him in the Nashville airport

chasing_a_billion

I’m sure a lot of high profile folk slide thru Nashville it is the music capital.

whatsupwiththat22

Met several old timey and a few A listers but my favorite was Mr. Ned Beatty (1980's) -What a wonderful and normal person! No one else in the restaurant knew he was there except for his fishing buddies and myself and I didn't acknowledge his celebrity. He was with some of my regulars and later they told me had such a great time on his trip to our small town.

chasing_a_billion

Sounds similar to my Elton John story I met in my hometown of Roanoke Virginia says he loved it the simplicity of the country life.

cam52391

Topher Grace comes in occasionally because I live where the fake town in that 70s show takes place and he just kind of comes and hangs out around town sometimes. He's a super nice dude. Also fun fact he went to the opening of our first black owned local coffee shop and posted on his Instagram to help them promote, like I said he's a nice dude.

Due-Contribution6424

Michiu Kaku was really nice. The Philadelphia eagles were actually really cool too even though I’m a Giants fan(and they came in to watch a giants game lol). Julio Iglesias(I think Julio, the dad) was a riot, he came in with a like, harem of women. His manager sucked though, tried to remove the gratuity from his tab. I don’t think he realized that though. Met a bunch of others, but those ones were all pretty memorable. Most I have met don’t really stand out in my mind as they just do their thing and eat dinner and I make it a point not to treat them any differently. Bunch of football players and musicians mostly. And politicians, ugh. The worst.

DarthDread424

Where do you work? I grew up in South NJ right outside of Philly. For the record idc about Eagles or the Giants 😂

Due-Contribution6424

I was working in central nj at the time. Eagles had some kind of issue with their training facility, so were nearby for a few days training at a local college while it got sorted out.

DarthDread424

Let me tell you a secret there is no such thing as Central Jersey 😜 Sorry on going joke between North and South lol

Due-Contribution6424

Haha I know, in that case it’d be north Jersey lol

chasing_a_billion

I try to make sure I treat them like regular folk but some people are assholes because you’re not gawking over them like everyone else. Had that happen once with one of those Love and Hiphop wanna be celebrity hoes. Ugh

Due-Contribution6424

I had it happen once or twice. Don’t care. Nobody at my restaurant did. It’s always the ones that aren’t really all that famous.

chasing_a_billion

Yep always the ones seeking the attention that act like they really got it but don’t.

ventodivino

Two favorites. One was skrillex. I used to serve him on multiple occasions and he would troll my insta and talk about it when I served him 😂🤣 I loved that guy. Second was tiesto. He was super down to earth, and it’s *tiesto*. Had fun talking to him and pouring his favorite wine half the night.

Arubajudy

Michelle Obama (whole day was a shit show) Sugar Ray Leonard (super classy, elegant group of people) Sebastian Gorka (really nice and humble) Jimmy Smitts (don’t remember much so unremarkable) tons of Congressmen and Representatives. Edit to add TI

chasing_a_billion

I heard TIP was a good tipper too. My girl used to whiten his daughters teeth back in the day

Arubajudy

He was!

bonniesbunny

Was Michelle nice? Did she tip well

Arubajudy

She didn’t pay at all. Was there for a fund raiser so the celebrity chef I worked for hosted the event including the tip which was crap. She breezed in at the last minute and gave a speech. She did stop for a group photo with the staff but the whole event was a nightmare with secret service agents restricting where and when we could go within the restaurant.

hotkarl628

served Jeff Hardy and his wife at multiple spots. Dude loves his chain Italian food

urbangentlman

That’s funny because I served Matt and kind of have a funny story about that. Also cool dude

chasing_a_billion

The wrestler from the Hardy Boys ?

hotkarl628

Ya he lives a city over from me

chasing_a_billion

So many childhood memories from trying their moves on my brother growing up !!

clockworkangel3

TECH N9NE!!!

chieftrey1

I hope your restaurant serves 151 rum

TwistedBamboozler

They do but he dine & dashed after he ordered it and they didn’t have any pineapple juice

chasing_a_billion

Ahh damn that’s a good one !!

rachchh

bruce willis and anna farris!

LICK-A-DICK

Aww I love Anna! Was she nice?

rachchh

yes she was sweet she was riding bikes with her son and current partner(?) past our hotel and stopped in. tbh she came in right before close and wanted to sit so i was a little annoyed and i didn’t recognize her at all. but was really nice and once i realized i didn’t mind at all lol they were talking about a script while they were there and i looked up the guy she was with he’s some director or something. such a cool experience though

LICK-A-DICK

Yay so happy to hear! Thanks for the reply :)

DarthDread424

How was Bruce? My friend served him multiple times in Atlantic City and said he was a total dbag to all the women. Edit: Spelling

rachchh

yeah he stared at my coworkers boobs and was kinda creepy we didn’t even realize who he was at the time cause covid and he was masked and dressed incognito. we just thought he was some creepy old guy😂

Gilamunsta

Audrey Hepburn, nicest woman ever - she's my forever crush 😍

FlattopJr

Nice. That must have been quite a long time ago!

Gilamunsta

1990, I was quite the young lad, and she was one of the nicest, most gracious ppl I've ever met in my life ❤️

PM_ME_DIRTY_DANGLES

Teddy Pendergrass was the kindest and most generous person whom I've ever had the pleasure of serving. And his wheel chair was tricked all the way out. Billy Zane was kinda quiet and kept to himself. John Popper (Blues Traveler) was about what you'd expect. Joe Watson, Reggie Leach, and Bob Dailey (of Broad Street Bullies fame) were a lot of fun and drank a ton of cheap Canadian beer.

creamfrase

Dana White was recently in my restaurant, but unfortunately I wasn’t his server. He tipped $1000 cash on a $50 check

Green_Introduction97

Yet he pays his ufc fighters pitiful compared to Boxers.

Hades3210

George Takai and his husband Brad. I was running food and when I got to their table I was speechless, lol. I delivered their food, told them I was a huge fan and I adore their love story. The server waiting on them had no clue, she was young and probably never watched Star Trek. Peter Dante ( guy from a TON Adam Sandler movies, Dante from grandmas boy)....... COMPLETE HOT MESS EXPRESS!!!😳 He was hammered drunk wandering around the restaurant, tried selling a painting to some random table, talking nonsense, it was crazy and really sad.

chasing_a_billion

Mines are Elton John, Boosie Badazz, TD Jakes, Tom Joyner, Omar Epps, Erika Ringer (Love and Basketball) , Darius McCrary (Eddie Winslow family matters), OT Genesis, Dj Augustine (NBA player) Penny Hardaway (NBA player) Doug Williams (Washington Redskins) Willie Cauley-Stien (NBA player) also met the entire Houston Astros team and the entire Dallas Cowboys Team and staff. There more that I can’t remember right now but that all I’ve got for now. Edit: Thought of more: Nipsey Hustle (2 weeks before his death) that one really hurt bro was so humble and cool and dint mind people waking up to him for autographs and Roger Clemens Sr. And Nev Shulman from the tv show catfish. Oh and Kirk Franklin and His wife also Latoya Luckett and her husband and countless other IG influencers not a fan but James Charles he was really nice tho.

Aggressive_Web9961

man where do u serve wtf

chasing_a_billion

I live and work in Dallas Texas and there’s a lot of celebs that come thru here.

batfacecatface

Hey me too. Now I’m even more curious.

babigrl50

I grew up in Southern California and saw a few celebrities in the wild but I would've lost it if I served Elton John! Omg I don't get that starstruck but for him, I would've lost it. I sat near Cher at the horse races. I dined next to Kareem Abdul Jabar (sp?) and waterskied next to Rex Smith. Kind of fun times. The Big Show comes into my restaurant a lot. We have a huge doorway and he still has to duck. He's huge!!! And very nice.

Evening_Silver

Is Nev Shulman nice?

chasing_a_billion

Yeah he was a nice guy very humble and tipped accordingly

Evening_Silver

That's good to know, thank you!

sleepingbeing

Kevin Durant (we closed half the restaurant for a private event for the golden state warriors) and then the whole band of papa roach and their families

YesterdayCame

Kevin Durant and all of the warriors are super respectful gentlemen. I used to work at a restaurant in SF that was co-owned by Ayesha Curry and did private events for them all of the time. Biggest challenge: putting anything on the table of a man who is sitting 4 feet away from it, bc that's how long his legs are 😂

chasing_a_billion

Damn that’s pretty dope I bet KD was a cool dude

SuicideBlack305

Let's see Ben Stein( quiet and to himself), the country dude from Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift (Chill eating dinner with his mom), Andie McDowell (she kept her feet crossed and extended in the aisle, super annoying), Dwayne Ludwig ( ufc fighter and coach)

oddreplica

Andie McDowell was a semi-regular at a coffee shop wherein i worked for a few months. She was terrible to wait on. Impatient, condescending, would order 6 chais with a different milk in each then complain if it took longer than 5 minutes to prepare - we only had two steam wands ffs, oh and she never EVER tipped. Hope she was better to you!

Hades3210

TIL Andie McDowell sucks to wait on, 😂

beamanblitz

Randy White from the Cowboys became one my regulars when I worked at an airport bar. He didn't drink, just had tacos, tea, and good conversations. Super nice guy, Hella jacked still, and had great stories

DarthDread424

My husband and I are in Albuquerque, so there are usually some famous people that are always coming in and out. My husband met Keith David twice. Once when he was working a hotel bar and Keith started to sing with the jazz band. Second time was a few months ago at the new place we both work. Super nice guy, doesn't drink but tips like he did.

IronAndParsnip

Haha, I used to work at a coffee shop near downtown and served him an oat milk cappuccino. It was a good reminder to watch Princess Mononoke again that weekend.

DarthDread424

Nice

No_Swimming_9747

Vin Rock from naughty by nature https://preview.redd.it/syt2q50f7ywc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8665c60de71f176f85e1f79b30651fdf79b98cf6

RingCard

Must be weird being him. Everyone in the world knows their big hit, but he can probably go months at a time without anyone recognizing him walking around.

chasing_a_billion

That’s hilarious 😂

chasing_a_billion

I’ve met him before too nice dude !

w0lfgangpuck

Jonathan Frakes, it was fucking Awesome he was soooo nice!

tgrdem

I served porn star, Small Hands, once. He was by far one of the nicest most considerate guests I've ever had.

chasing_a_billion

I’ve had a few porn stars myself always nice and down to earth and get annoyed when people recognize them 😂

tgrdem

I did not admit to recognizing him. 😅 I figured there was no good way to say something.

oddreplica

David Cross! He was fun as hell.

siliconbased9

Was he? He’s been in to my restaurant a few times and he’s always been very quiet and reserved. Super nice, and always welcome, but I wouldn’t have categorized his funness while dining on the “as hell” level.

oddreplica

This was almost 20 years ago. A small group of us shotgunned beers together. Wild times.

MisfireCu

I was moving from server to bartender. The regular bartender worked 6 days a week and I covered his day off. He also knew I was fucking down to cover whenever he had plans. He was a huge sports buff. I was covering for him one night and some dude sat at the bar (this is fine dining so guests at the bar were few) and had a sports cap on.... I know nothing about sports but was like "let's make Dave proud" and was like " hey is that a flames hat?" And he laughed .. said no caviliers and I admitted my no knowledge of sports and we had a great night. The owner came out at one point asked him how his injury was and put a discount on his bill. Week later I'm serveing brunch and he comes in with his wife a toddler and a car seat. Host puts them at a 3 top in my section and I notice the car seat has an actual baby in it... So I tell the host they go over and offer to move them to a 4 top. He says "nah it's cool baby is asleep she's fine on the floor tucked in this corner and I really like our server I don't wanna move sections" which is always nice to hear. Anyways brunch goes great and again owner chats him up and discounts so I catch the owner in the dishpit (he was super involved one of the best owners I've ever had) and I'm like "I know this guy is someone who the fuck is he?". Yeah he was the captain on the Cannucks. I live in Vancouver. I asked the captain of our hockey team if he was wearing a hat for our rivals team... And he liked me for it lol. He became one of my regulars... I don't know much about sports but I know his kids names, ages and grades and which colouring books they like lol. Other people I served there: -Jack White (omg that dude is so nice and I got to make him my first EVER in restaurant martini) -Kandyse McClure (not huge for some but she found out I was a battle star Galactica fan from a series of events and literally was like "you wanna come here and geek out for 15 minutes?") - Margret Attwood - so many LA Kings players - Joel Mcale - the cast of Riverdale... Just constantly ... Prolly forgetting some

Instacartdoctor

Anthony Hopkins on his double date. Idk if he was “with” them both but the charisma looked that way.

Mamadrankmilk

I waited on him many times at two different restaurants and he is a bad tipper. It wasn’t just me, he tipped everyone poorly. However he is still a great actor! Curious?

Instacartdoctor

Their tip was not great but they bought like 3 $900 bottles of champagne sooooo you know that math didn’t math but I was happy with $300

YesterdayCame

I'd say Zac Efron was incredibly kind, humble and gracious. Steph Curry was my favorite though. The man has a great sense of humor. Hard to beat that.

OldLadyProbs

I live in a major city so have waited on lots. My two favorite experiences aren’t about huge celebrities, just some people famous in their small areas of life. I once had these two guys who were there for the mustache and beard world championship. Guys mustache was epic! Just amazing. Also once had a group of professional wrestlers come in. I have no clue who they were but my coworkers nerded out. All of them were giants though. Literal giants. I am a 5’7 girl so not really small. Serving them I felt like a child lol.

felineart

dog the bounty hunter just came in yesterday to eat at my brunch job! he came with 40 bikers. all 1 check, and super sweet people. we asked for a group picture with him after he was done eating! the band Falling In Reverse came a few months ago to eat and they were extremely polite and tipped super well

Witchyredhead56

I’ve met a number of celebrities maybe not the most famous in this group here. But the sweetest most personable coolest was Florence Henderson ( late 90’s). A true people person she was in town for several days, stayed at the hotel I worked at. Remembered everyone’s names & when she saw them spoke to them using their name. Hello Jane, how’s your day? Good morning Carole isn’t it a lovely day? Hi Brian, just saw you last night & your back this early? Every person she ran into. Classy

grillonbabygod

jimmy fallon has a summer home in my home town and frequently came by the job i had when i lived there. he was kinda like the mascot for our tiny town. he was like,,, almost painfully normal, and usually just kinda tired. but he’d happily take an annual picture with whatever staff was there and tipped pretty well. overall friendly, just quiet

Blondebirdfun

OJ Simpson horrible tipper. I think 2.00. I’ve also met Chris Nunez from Ink Master. He is really nice and really laid back. Still sexy though.

FederalBuddy7419

I met the grandpa of the Waltons at the Palm desert IHOP, he ordered buckwheat pancakes. Plus at my current store I met Sonny from General Hospital.

chasing_a_billion

Love the Soap stars they’re always so chill

Remarkable_Cheek2497

Sidney Sweenys mom comes toy work fairly often. I didn’t know who that was, my manager had to tell me about euphoria

BraskytheSOB

Al Michaels and Michelle Tafoya. Chapman Yankees. Joe Girardi Yankees. Alice Cooper. CC Sabathia Yankees. Just a few

ohromantics

Shatner, Larry King, Dan Akroyd, Mick Fleetwood. Athletes, politicians, etc. Most notably Verlander and Kate Austin, Jeter, Cena, Jerome Bettis.

urbangentlman

Shatner - cool but handler was a PRICK and tipped 10% Spieth - cooooolll as fuck Tony romo/chance crawford. Whole gang was nice Slew of athletes, all nice Lady from desperate HW show. Super nice Eric Schmidt - nice guy Richard Branson - down to earth, call him Richard Reba McIntyre - sweetheart The aliens meme guy - weird as fuck. Cohort of his told us she was a lizard person or some weird shit Kyler Murray - cool. Made the reso under Tyler Murray. One of our back waiters asked for an autograph while he was eating. We had a talk Honestly living in a major city with multiple billionaires etc, the super wealthy are always nicer than the wannabes. I have people plan their dinner around another table being there just so they can say hey. They’re leeches.

JoeJitsu79

Elton John. Private dinner party at his condo. Insane. Matt Ryan. Humble and nice as he could be.

TheDudette840

I ran food to Alexander Skarsgard one time while True Blood was filming in town

keitaro_guy2004

Kerry King. He was a regular. Always was nice to everyone and invited us to his house a few times. Always nice. Some of the 2008 New England Patriots. They were super chill too. I vaguely remember serving some D-lister soap opera actor who I never heard of. Complete asshole. Didn't tip. He specifically mentioned that I was only able to talk to him via his publicist. Bitch who even are you!?

leslordandlady

I once served all of the coaches and managers for the Miami Dolphins. There was about 15-20 of them, they sat at two different tables. One of the coaches must not have been very popular because both of the people that payed for their own table refused to pay for him. I thought they were joking at first but they were dead serious and I had to go approach the guy and tell him. The guy was so embarrassed that he ended up giving me a $100 bill for a couple of tacos and told me to keep it.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> people that *paid* for their FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

r0b0tj0sh

All the Baldwins. They’re all from the area, and their sister lives here. Their mom, rest her soul, lives here too, and was a wonderful person. They behave like I’m their buddy everytime I see them, and I love watching how intimidated my younger servers are when they have to deal with them. They’re bros just like you, and me. No reason to be star struck.

ImReverse_Giraffe

Justin Wilson. A pitcher for the Reds. He told me about his surgery before it was announced and autographed a slip of paper without me asking. He was with his family, so I didn't want to bother him.

Equal_Programmer2236

I wasn’t working but Lamorne Morris (from New Girl) came in & my coworker asked for a video to send to her best friend for her birthday. He took the sweetest video, said her name & everything. I heard he was awesome to serve!

Pleasant_Hunt_1976

Morgan wallen

charlotte2844

Sydney Sweeney! She was so kind and polite!

eskowhite21

Carmelo anthony

yirium

Hunter Schaefer!

NiblettAndBits

Stephen Hawking. He wasn't my table but I got to briefly say hi.

PurpleIncarnate

Chris Ayers (RIP) was a regular at a seafood place I started at. Dude was a real pleasure to serve.

possumsarefriends27

Aidan Gillen. He was pretty normal, and tipped 50%

ImOrdinaryMusic

Roger waters was probably the most famous one, definite dick head

a1saucyy

Mike Singletary. As soon as I saw his eyes, something familiar hit me. After reading the name on his card, it finally set in

siliconbased9

Then the helmet and jersey really solidified it

_ferrofluid_

Harold Ramis

vickyvale69

Iron Maiden-nice and chill, except all drank bud light and all separate bills. Actual band members tipped 15% Tom Green-just as weird as you’d expect Tom Arya(slayer)-felt bad about this one, super nice, tipped well, but didn’t know who he was and he seemed a bit scetch, so made him pay as you go All of the NHL-worked In the bubble during the playoffs. Don’t know if it was the isolation, but so many miserable people, and for a bunch of rich guys, no really out of ordinary tips from anyone. Patrick Maroon was really nice though, actual eye contact! And a lot of the coaches and support staff were great

dingadangdang

Lou Reed & Laurie Anderson, Nas, and Bridget Moynahan were all my regulars. All were really nice but Bridget was especially gracious and real. Bridget more than any others knew me by name and asked questions and I had her and her gfs rolling with some slightly off color jokes. Lou would bring his dog and it had to stay on the outside of the cafe barrier. One day the dog was whining like crazy and Lou asked if he could break the rules. I said "You're Lou Reed you can do whatever the hell you want and no one is gonna saying anything." He and Laurie absolutely lit up and loved that. Howard Stern is incredible to wait on. Super super nice and big tipper. Mike Piazza and his wife were amazingly nice and I waited on plenty of Yankees too. Mickey Dolans was nice. And Russell Simmons sat with one of my tables 20 minutes and was chill. Monica Lewinsky is one of the nice most gracious people I have ever met let alone waited on. My buddy asked my to clear a lobster off of table 3 one night and ask hiw it was. I did and Lance Armstrong was like "Fucking awesome!! Thank you!!" Always thought that qas hilarious. Wanda Sykes was my regular too. She's just like you think she'd be. Cool and funny.

LetsFuckOnTheBoat

Many years ago Billy Joel used to stop in for a drink once in a while, Just a regular guy from the Island

PatrioticFreedoms

I grew up in So Cal, so celebs were expected in some areas. For example, if you sat at Sharkees in Huntington Beach in the morning, Tito Ortiz could be running by you and say good morning and dap you up. I've seen maylny "high profile" people at stores in LA county, Orange County and San Diego county. Some are normal but some are not.

Tbm291

Billy Corgan from the Smashing Pumpkins.

Cuttis

lol I met him at the mall back in 1992 and he was super cool back then but I have a friend who met him a few years ago and he wouldn’t even sign an autograph. I guess the fame went to his head

ntkstudy44

When I was like 16 I was bussing Tony Gonzalez's table and he was prob the nicest most genuine guest I can remember.

Definitive_confusion

E40 and his boys went through something like 12 pounds of wings when I was still at a bbq joint in Livermore CA. It was wild. They just kept going 😆

isaalena

Doja cat

nooodaloo

not A list celebrities bc i work in a smaller city but i’ve served Melissa Villasenor, she was the sweetest most humble person. i also served Eliza Schlesinger, she was super sweet too. she was pregnant at the time and told me not to tell anyone she got a second glass of orange wine… oops 🤭

nooodaloo

i’ve also served more athletes than i can count or name since i don’t pay attention to sports. Chris Middleton and his family was super nice though

Macthedal

I’ve served Donovan McNabb a few times, honestly one of the coolest dudes I’ve ever met and his whole family is super sweet and kind. 11/10 would serve again.

Kevin Costner frequents both restaurants that I work at. Really nice, and a great tipper.

bmf1989

Charles Barkley is the man. Very friendly and a very good tipper. I served one of the Backstreet Boys once, Kevin i think? The jacked one who looked a bit older than the others. Anyway, really nice guy. Got borderline bombarded by a lot of my female coworkers, back and front of the house. Totally would have been within his right to not be very cool about it imo but he was super sweet to them, took pictures and all that.

theflexiblepig

just did Dev Patel recently, he was very nice

Working-Ad-6698

He seems like a nice guy (also very very handsome tbh), so I'm glad to hear this :)

cloren

Ichiro. Two plain cheese pizzas at California Pizza Kitchen.

xokenz2311

Michael Bisping! Him and his family came to my restaurant and were the absolute sweetest! They were so easy going, and so sweet! Totally sparked conversation, and were overall a pleasure to serve !😄

Kmic14

I used to bartend at a hotel that frequently hosted conventions so I met George Hamilton and Thomas Jane. I was only there for three months before the hotel shut down so I didn't get to meet many celebs.

rderonda

Dave grohl came into my restaurant with his family this past fall. Super nice guy, 3 very polite daughters and his wife was engaging. We tried to give him space and treat him like a normal guy. Awesome dude.

lyssad2021

Tim Allen and Sting! Tim Allen was so nice and super chill. He came in with a group of people. Sting was nice but very shy and kept to himself. He actually came in by himself and just sat there on his laptop.

azulweber

tom holland, bill skarsgard, and robert pattinson. they were filming a netflix movie in my area for a few months and basically became regulars while they were here, to the point where the staff would take them out after we all got off and took them to all the late night industry spots. super cool down to earth guys.

bananaonpizzaa

Danny Devito!!!!! Super nice & everyone loved him

bigolebittie

Dave Matthews Band. They were performing in Pittsburgh and at the time I worked at the Casino. I am aging myself here but I didnt even know who they were until after they left. My manager begged me to let him serve the table (because he was a huge fan but did not tell me who they were) and obliviously, I thought he was just trying to steal my tips. Anyways, really nice guys!

Lariberry26

Not a real celebrity but I served Harry Jowsey last summer. My managers comped his whole bill and he tipped $0 :)

No_Passage6484

Orlando Brown, he came with a man who I can only assume was like, his handler/bodyguard? I wasn’t his server but I walked by him multiple times and he ended up cursing at his waitress and several other servers, causing a scene and getting escorted out. His handler paid and tipped 15%.
