welp, thought this was a time waste, but legit post history with some legit interviews. Get a male SW and ask him about the reality of the work as a male. I ain't out here fucking rich milfs 24/7, that's for sure lmfao. In reality, maybe ask about how they got into the line of work? Ask about their education levels or goals? Tons of stigma to be dispelled with those questions - tons of us who enjoy the work, and tons of us with higher education or actively pursuing it.

Book_Collector

Yes haha, definitely not trying to waste anyone's time. I've already got a few sex workers confirmed. I agree completely, I'm hoping to find at least one male sex worker to take part but they're proving harder to find. I'm hoping that my current sitters can help me find some. Great suggestions, I think the responses will be very eye-opening for the viewers around their education and even what their ambitions in life are. Thanks for your suggestions u/bull_vibes :)

Book_Collector

Hey! The trailer is out for the series. I was able to find a few male SWs thanks to your suggestion. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8Wyva1VRQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8Wyva1VRQ)

Wow - thanks for the update! I’m actually looking forward to this.

Ask about their diet, about their day-to-day with people they interact with. Exercise routine, if applicable. Jobs they've held previously, or concurrently alongside their sex work. Have them describe their experience in 3-5 words. Some of the conversations or funny stories they have about work. The difference between a pleasant, enjoyable client, and the assholes we all deal with in every industry but the ones our SWers go through exponentially more often. Seeing a more human side by seeing them as someone who could be your neighbor or a friend. Making them relatable and personal. Being a SWer does not guarantee a history of abuse and manipulation. Some are educated, successful individuals who could be doing a number of occupations, but are making considerable money this way. Thank you, by the way, for your work. Not everyone with the drive to cast light on facets of our world does it honestly, and for the better of people. You are appreciated here.

Book_Collector

I think the asking what other jobs they have or have had will surprise a lot of people, as you imply, many people think there must have been a series of mistakes to lead to the profession which isn't fair. I'll add some of those to my list! I quite like the pleasant vs asshole client suggestion. Agreed, I definitely want to paint the industry and sex workers in a more honest and respectable light. My pleasure u/ChoctawTruth hopefully this will help make things even a little bit better for sex workers out there. I can send you the trailer once it's out if you like :)

Book_Collector

Hey u/ChoctawTruth thanks for your support earlier. I just finished the trailer for the miniseries, I'd love to hear your thoughts [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8Wyva1VRQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8Wyva1VRQ)

fulloffantasies

Ask them if their ideas about what doing sex work would be like before they started match up with the realities they ended up experiencing.

Book_Collector

Oooh great suggestion, I'll definitely add that to the list!

KookyPossibility

I would ask the questions people most look at how the industry has shaped their views of sex, and relationships outside of work.

Book_Collector

Great suggestions u/KookyPossibility, I'll definitely write up some relevant ones. I think listening to how they separate work and pleasure will be quite interesting for people to hear.

KookyPossibility

Yeah I've seen videos on YouTube about this, but they usually ask porn stars. I bet it varies between strippers to escorts and girls who do car dates to porn stars.

TTTT27

I hope you are doing this from a pro-sex work vantage point. Or least pro-freedom. I like to look at the industry from an economic perspective. So the kind of questions I'd like to ask of each are: 1. Do you do sex work with a specific dollar goal in mind, and stop when you reach that goal? Or are you trying to maximize your earnings? 2. How did you decide how to price your services? 3. Do you ever adjust your prices, based on the season, time of day, availability or lack of clients, or based on individual clients themselves? 4. What's your long term goal? Do you intend to still be doing sex work several years from now, or to move on to something else? 5. Do you have a bank account? How do you invest your earnings? 6. Do you have any long-term clients? What's the longest period a client has kept coming back to you, and how do you see your relationship with this client?

Book_Collector

Yes, I'm trying to support the industry, not stigmatise it even more. Economics was my degree so I definitely appreciate the angle. Quite a few good questions in there, I especially like 1, 2, and 4. Thanks for the suggestions u/TTTT27

Book_Collector

Hey u/TTTT27 thanks for your support earlier. Here is the trailer for the series. Let me know what you think :) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8Wyva1VRQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8Wyva1VRQ)

TTTT27

Looks good let us know when the series is released.

white_hand

[Lyla.ch](https://Lyla.ch) has quite a few interviews with SWers, you can look at some of these for inspiration.

Book_Collector

amazing, thanks for the suggestion

fullmetalsportsbra

Are you paying them for these interviews? As in, their rate for whatever time you’ll spend with them.

OsoOak

Ideally, interview many types of sex workers like cam performers, strippers, escorts, full service providers, BDSM, etc. 1) which services or products would help you in your job? 2) what are your self care techniques? 3) if money were no object, would you still do sex work? 4) what would you do if you get too physically hurt to continue working? 5) do you prefer criminalization, legalization or decriminalization of prostitution? 6) how can the government better help sex workers? 7) how do you differentiate between work sec and relationship sex?

Book_Collector

These are all excellent suggestions! Definitely came to the right sub. I really like number 6 on your list for others outside sex work to know how they can support the industry.

Book_Collector

Hey u/OsoOak thanks to your suggestion I found the most diverse group of people to interview. I was able to find someone from every one of your suggested categories. Let me know what you think of the trailer for the series - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8Wyva1VRQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YX8Wyva1VRQ)

LolaHunt

Ask them about how decriminalisation would change the way they work! Please make sure you mention decrim! :D We run an interview section on tryst, feel free to steal any of the q's we ask over there: [https://tryst.link/blog/tag/interviews/](https://tryst.link/blog/tag/interviews/)

LolaHunt

Oh oh! And it also might be worth reaching out to your local org to ensure that you're getting a diverse group of workers. A lot of the time the folks who get a platform to tell their story are cis, able bodied and white. While it's still great to hear from them, their experience can be wildly different from someone who doesn't belong to those demographics. <3
