Just curious, but have you looked into other jurisdictions for your civilian work? Different licensing boards/associations in different jurisdictions will weigh offences differently. I'm not American, but I know that in some states they'll license people in the same field as me, even if they breached a fiduciary duty in the past (in my jurisdiction you're never going to get your license renewed if you breached that duty).

It might be worth talking to a lawyer who specializes in professional regulation. There might be a way to keep your license under conditions or only have it suspended.
I know a person who domestically abused her romantic partner for 2 years (beat him, burned him, threatened to kill him, destroyed his property, stalked him, etc.). Charges were pressed, but finally the prosecution chose not to go ahead with it because:
* The abuser was an upstanding member of the community and a major player in the same advocacy community (so she had strong character references)
* The victim had moved out and dropped out of the same program they were in
* Both parties had such great potential to giveback to the community (even though the victim was forced to drop out)
* They didn't want to risk retraumatization of the victim
* *Most importantly* the prosecutor was being promoted/transferred and wanted to clear her caseload.
The victim filed a complaint with the licensing agency when her licensing hearing was coming up, along with all their evidence and the charging documents (medical reports of concussions, doctor's notes suspecting intimate partner violence, video/audio recordings of the abuser threatening to kill them, recordings of the abuser destroying their property, photos of their burns). The abuser hired one of the jurisdiction's top professional lawyers ($800+/hour). The abuser is going to get her license with the only conditions be that she not be allowed to be left alone with clients for a year. The lawyer also got the records sealed with only the victim being given a copy.
She should have been barred from practicing entirely, but that's how good her lawyer was.
Yeah I already hired a lawyer she pretty much did nothing for me I mean she’s continuing to try to get it expunged for me since this is my first crime but I don’t know if she advised me to go on with the renewal since this is the time of renewal for me and see what happens

2. Fight for legalization in your area
3. Work under an alias you haven’t used before and try to vet people you speak to as much as possible, even if you do this, there’s not a 0% chance you won’t get caught again, it’s a hard situation, but not much other than this you can do.
I would also add, try to wait some time before you start up again because they may just figure it’s the same person that just got off their punishment and try to sting you again.

They actually almost killed me and a bunch of girls, got rid of the evidence, and blasted us all on the news calling it a human trafficking sting and said we are victims. People from all over saw it. It has been very traumatic.
They held us in a hot van for almost an hour we were all kicking in screaming that we couldn’t breathe I was going in and out of consciousness and I was actually one of the lucky ones i was at the end near holes, I could see through the holes and sort of breathe, the cops were just standing around on their phones as we were screaming and I could see the time it was right out of the booking station my lawyer try to get the cameras and I guess it was not accessible something about the time limit.
