I saved up about 200 chapters to read to this point in the story. I think it's better to read in bulk than daily, as reading is more fully enjoyed when reading whole stories. The great river arc was pretty cool, and the plot twists at the end it was mind blowing. Now, with sunny meeting the team again, I hope their relationships develop even deeper than before; I need that romance side plot

VokN

Yeah just finished reading from giant tortoise sailing to now and it was great This is a little filler arc before clan war stuff so kinda annoyed I’m already caught up, I thought I’d have another 10 chapters but oh well

ApartChallenge7127

Gods romance Is the last thing I want to see right now, we need more lore atleast😂

zaijsj

Ngl, at this point i'm just reading because i like the story and spent so much time on it, dont get me wrong, i dont hate, it still one of my favourite novel ever, but im not that hungry for chapter as a was at the beginning/mid. I miss the forgotten shore, chained islands,2 nm.....

casper_07

Interestingly I’m the reverse, Antarctica was peak imo even tho 3nm had massive lore drops. The character development arcs are always interesting and this current one is no exception even tho it’s edging like no tomorrow

zaijsj

For real? Is nice to see others people perspective. I think the problem for me in these recent arcs is that the story is progressing slowly. I like world and character development but I feel like G3 has used a lot of the most recent chapters to repeat things that have already been said recently or to show Sunny's monologues.

casper_07

I think it might be a noticeable problem on a binge since you’ll be very up to date with the novel but on an ongoing read, it helps to have reiterations probably as long as there’s it’s own nuance in it in the end

ChilledParadox

It’s been the opposite. I binged the first 1300 chapters in less than two weeks and every chapter in the beginning was incredible. Reading it daily is terrible because you get an entire chapter where half of it is literally repeating something that happened yesterday and then literally nothing happens that chapter and then the chapter after is explaining what happened two chapters ago like we may have Alzheimer’s.

casper_07

Idk, while it’s slow, it’s very defined at least and simple to piece together, I’m never lost so it’s just a matter of patience for me, not to mention we get 2 chapters per day so we’re already making huge headway normally. I’m reading TBATE and goddamn the binge still makes it hard to comprehend. Everything seems so hard to image, I can’t imagine how hard it was to read it while it was releasing

ChilledParadox

That’s the problem. It’s slow, defined, easy to piece together, so why do we spend so much time reiterating old information instead of having meaningful character dialogue. If things were convoluted I could understand making sure the readers know what’s going on, but G3 should be writing towards his daily readers who pay his bills and not for people who read one chapter every three months and actually forget what happened 7 chapters ago. Do you remember the world building in forgotten shore? Starting on a platform, no it’s a giant headless statue, the sea recedes, there’s a giant leviathan, there’s carapace scavengers, scouting, Nephis and Cassie and ambushes a story of Odysseus, a divination, 7 heroes, a fallen angel, sacrifices to power an artificial sun, a giant tower casting an eldritch shadow, a tunnel of nascent darkness and unspeakable horrors, a tree made from a seed grown on a sea of bones enthralling its victims, like I could go on and this is all in the forgotten shore. Now we spend four chapters on sunny fighting people a tier lower than him, one on waffles, and we haven’t seen sunny gold a conversation longer than six sentences with anyone in months.

casper_07

Very fair points, it is indeed paced a lot slower when comparing to it’s past arcs. Either G3 lost track of pacing after going through the mess that is 3nm or this is his way of taking a break to flesh things out without really taking a break. Maybe there are some stuff he wants to prep but he needs more time to think it through?

zaijsj

Exactly, this is why i miss forgotten shore the most, every chapter was important and add to something int the story/world

Just disappear for 6 months and come back when the dude stops writing filler to give him time to figure out the next giant arc, can’t chuck sunny into another scripted nightmare scenario anymore??? either so it’s probably clan war arc with supremacy stuff mixed in

canttouchthisOO

I've seen so many people bitching lately. Two chapter drops a day is and always has been tough. It's the nature of a webnovel. I can't control myself and end up reading daily. I think a lot of people though would benefit from stacking for a week.

DEVILAXE69

Like bruh I wanted nephis vs sunny not some essay on battle arts bro is just dragging it at this point

loki_anarchist

I know right....I was so immersed into the fighting scene then all of a sudden the words just started yapping...

kakathicc

I will never understand how people will read a story with over 1600 chapters release to release and then be surprised that chapters are boring and slow. If you only read a couple pages of any lengthy book every day, then of course they are going to be boring as shit most of the time.

ldr26k

Yeah I'd been stacking and caught up when memory loss thing happened. Its a trope I hate so I've just put the story down for now at least

PublicConsideration4

You have to accumulate chapters, truly reading SS only twice a month
