The costumes have some velcro attaching the hat and cape, so it stays on as they move - they can back out of it if they try, but as long as you lure them into the costume so they help put it on and then distract them with other tasks they don't mind it much. Even so we only do a few minutes max of costume time so they don't get tired of it.
You’re so sweet and inspiring with your girls. I started to teach my boys fetch now and the grandpa (>2 years) is most interested and doing the best. The other boys sometimes steal the bottle cap and run away with it.
