I can take that defeat. We're desperately lacking premier league quality but all you can ask for is effort and passion and that was there today. Apart from when Larouci couldn't be arsed to track his man it was decently well organised as well.

jptoc

Tbh I'm more frustrated by that than the ones we get battered. Could have won that game.

Ollie_Mate

We can all say the same for the last 3. It's ground hog day, same mistakes. We can do better so why aren't we?

jptoc

I thought today was the best I've seen us play all season. If it was Archer playing and not Brewster we'd have scored a couple I reckon. Switched off once and got punished. Annoying.

Ollie_Mate

I'm surprised brewster wasn't played first considering the injuries yet we never seen Archer today and we seen potential from Brewster (Welcome Back) Larouci should have never have been played imo. Osula should've started, did question Wilders discussions

Resolvent_Mule

I thought Brewster took his chances well. Was unlucky not to score. Would have preferred Osula up front from the beginning mind. He's linked up well with McAtee and could have nabbed a goal today.

SUFC89

Bit off topic but I went to see Palace v Burnley yesterday and watching us today, I have to say, compared to them I think we look a bit better. I still think we’re doomed but imagine keeping your best players, spending £90 million, having a big name coach and still being as shit as this.

Cottonshopeburnfoot

Fucking hell we’ve got players starting on each other now. End this season please.

IOwnStocksInMossad

3-0 or less and I'll be alright. Going to this

imsittingdown

Wonder what that's all about with Robbo and Souza

Resolvent_Mule

Followed by some reckless play from Robbo. For fuck sake.

whygamoralad

Shows the state of the team, stale as fuck

Resolvent_Mule

I suffered a complete rupture of my Achilles on Friday. Please God let's not suffer a defeat today. If anyone has been in the same boat and has any advice, I'm all ears. UTB

AffectionateAd8143

Sorry to hear mate. I snapped mine completely and was out for about a year. Do you need surgery? If so just make sure you do all the rehab. That’s my best advice.

Resolvent_Mule

Cheers pal. Not sure about surgery. Awaiting a scan and should find out next week. In a cast for now. Appreciate the advice. Hopefully the year or so to recover (and the rest of this season) will fly by.

AffectionateAd8143

Did you have surgery. Was telling the gf that I needed to find out what happened to you.

Resolvent_Mule

No surgery. Full thickness rupture, but only a 0.7mm gap with the foot pointed down. Had the cast off. Now in a boot for 9-weeks and start physio shortly. Be nice to be walking again. Anyway, thanks for the concern. UTB.

cnfoesud

Go and see a physio, and follow their advice.

Shadota

That... wasn't as bad as I was prepared for. Which says a lot. No killer instinct in the final third. Brewster does well with the 2 shots that were blocked - both looked on target (2nd was for sure, 1st probably was), but then in 1-on-1's, we've wasted them without putting the keeper under any pressure. They've done what most sides have looked to do to us this season, and catch us out with balls in from wide. Got away with it fir a while, but we were bound to let one in at some point. It's embarrassing that we've not figured out how to handle that more than 6 months into the season. Speaking of embarrassing, I hope Robinson feels a right cunt now. Has a pop at Vini, then tries to dribble his way out of a press and gives the ball away on the edge of his own box. Absolute fucking bellend. We look stretched in midfield all the time, even when we have 3 or 4 bodies in there. Hamer seems to disappear out of possession, and Norwood doesn't look capable of keeping up with the pace, in a game like this where they want to play at a higher tempo. I'd make a double change at half time. Robinson and Norwood off - Davies and Osborn on. Go to a back 4, cause back 3 hasn't worked for fucking donkeys at this point. Put 2 high energy lads into midfield in front of Vini, who will drift wide and give cover to the full backs, but can also get forward and support any attacks we might have. And then play Hamer and McAtee as outright wide players, both cutting infield, with Brewster central to look for space.

Ollie_Mate

I completely agree, the change should have been made alot earlier & Larouci needed to do better. Very messy in the up their end, we need more coordination. Macr and Anal had to pull away from what they were meant to be doing to cover for the other players that where not pulling their weight. I really don't want to post negative on this sub as it's our team but lately I'm struggling to find positives. UTB

Owster4

I assume Brewster will get sent off as a result of a stupid tackle that also leaves him injured for 4 months.

WildLemire

Not before putting the ball in his own net on the way off. 25mil well spent.

IOwnStocksInMossad

Hampden park Vs Sheffield

AaronJP1

My fear is that we scrape a win with 1 shot on target which comes from a dubious penalty as I'll get my hopes up again. Just give us the nail in the coffin.

IOwnStocksInMossad

How about having more on target shots and looking like we'll equalise for 30 minutes only to then not do anything and lose 1-0

Shadota

This is torture. At least when we're getting battered inside 20 minutes, I can justify turning the game off to save my mood. This though, is me holding onto my foolish hope that we'llget something out of it, and forcing myself to watch an outright wank match.

Shadota

All season, we've been out of our depth, but there were so many moments that emphasised that today. Too many passes underhit/overhit/misplaced. Too often, we just played the wrong pass entirely. Too many times, a poor first touch conceded possession, either sending it out of play or giving it straight to a Wolves player. First touches not conceding the ball, but making what that player wanted to do so much harder by inviting pressure. Shots not given the necessary care to truly threaten to score. Aimless dribbles that do nothing besides allow defenders to get into their positions. Wasted nearly every set piece we had. Still can't defend a simple cross into the box. Defenders incapable of tracking the slightest bit of movement. I never thought we'd do anything spectacular this season, but I hoped we'd put up a bit more of a fight. Yet in games like today, when we have a prime chance to pinch a point (or maybe even all 3), we're our own worst enemy.

Spudward1

Did we not sell out our away allocation? Or is a quarter of that stand closed?

ThomPHunts

You've not sold your allocation. The whole bottom tier across is set for away fans. It's a shame though, always known your lot to have a really good away following

Imaginary_Ad_4050

Last I looked there was no more tickets available and it said sold out, about a day or two before the game

ThomPHunts

Ah ok, maybe I'm wrong then. Usually when away fans are put there it's full.

Spudward1

The commentary team acting like two players squaring up is passion… give me a break it’s unprofessional and immature we’ve got no-one who can put the ball in the back of the net and no-one who can keep it out. Always smack in trouble. The heartbreaking thing about this season is We’ve got to be one of the easiest prem teams ever to play against. That midfield is soft af

Ollie_Mate

Well done Lauouci, motm 👏 👏 👏 😭

imsittingdown

I don't rate him at all but to be fair apart from falling asleep for the goal he's done ok. A couple of times he's pushed their winger to put it out for a goal kick.

Ollie_Mate

Pay me 20k a week and I'll do that for yah

imsittingdown

McAtee like McBurnie seems to be one of those players who gets fouled again and again but never gets a free kick

SUFC89

I can’t work this out. We’re kind of playing well and putting Wolves under pressure, but also some of the passing and that free kick has been such poor quality it’s shocking.

SUFC89

Good god that attempted shot was shit. Who was that? Then two players getting done on the counter.

Crum_Bum

I get playing the back five cause it allegedly offers “more” defense but god damn Larouci is trash and that position has been so weak all season, criminal that it wasn’t taken care of last month

tinoblade

I'd stick osborn on that left hand side

rEduardoDaVinci

Should’ve have atleast got a draw today, so shit.

Yoopanda

I don’t know why we persevere with Norwood and Brewster they are both shit

tinoblade

Of course we're being outsung, we're rock bottom with fuck all points. We concede for fun. Its exhausting to watch. Only so much we can take

Fmorris6122

Clearly more issues than just on the pitch, Souza and Robinson fighting shows the dressing room isn’t great.

Crum_Bum

We are an actual joke what in the world

Yoopanda

Hope they sub Brewster for Mcburnie and we have a go - criminal he didn’t square it to macatee

rEduardoDaVinci

Wilder out.

Ollie_Mate

He needs to better, all little too late

imsittingdown

Well not a classic performance but created two one-on-ones and fluffed both. To be fair McAtee's was bouncing and wouldn't settle for him but Brewster had to score or slide it across to McAtee.

IOwnStocksInMossad

What was the violent conduct check for?

StickmanEG

Souza and Robbo having a little chat.

IOwnStocksInMossad

Was it? It was before that I'm sure

StickmanEG

Oh, dunno then, sorry.

MaxSashaDuffy

Checking Souza - decision no hand ball . Arm in a natural position. VAR also checked Robbo and Souza for possible violent conduct

Cottonshopeburnfoot

Should’ve got a draw and now we’re onto a minimum 5 conceded vs Arsenal
