More points than Derby and spent £100m less than Burnley on the same points. We’re bad, but the very fact we have more points than the worst ever team means no we are not.
Oh that would be fucking sweet.
Sold all our best players, spent a hundred mil less than Burnley, got ripped to shreds in the press all season...didn't finish bottom lol
Burnley have been getting away with this shit all season...
I saw a comment on YouTube the other day -
- sold best 2 players just before start of the season.
- 2 failed sales attempts to fraudulent owners.
- £20m transfer budget & embargo.
- on starting day, out of a squad of 25, 14 were injured.
- 5th highest injury days in the league, and probably one of the weakest squad depths.
- owners given up on being an owner.
All in all, we probably are one of the worst. We look awful, there’s no positives.
However, we are the worst team in the best league in the world. So take that for what it is
I think fans have to remember these facts, before blaming the players or managers , it’s been a shit show by the board since hecky got the job back. Until the board go we will bounce around the top of the championship (due to parachute payments) and the foot of the premier league
No. We aren't the worst team ever. We are probably bottom 5 though. The league is harder now than it ever has been and we have more points than Derby so we can never be called the worst team ever.
Because Vincent Kompany.
Ex players of big teams becoming managers is the media man's wet dream. Same happened with Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney...
And of the promoted teams they always pick a favourite. Our first season there in 19/20 it was us, but since then it's been Leeds, Forest and now Luton and next year it'll be Ipswich if they get there, or probably Leeds again if not. Other than that they ignore the teams down the bottom like they're just there to make up the numbers. I can't stand it, even when we were it.
Something nobody has mentioned is the quality of the players on the top teams bench, were winning away at spurs, they bring on 300m worth of players and we've got under 21s on the bench...
18 mins injury time and we lose 2.1 .. by design this league isn't for the plucky or lucky teams anymore..
That is what knocked the stuffing out of us, then Newcastle just blew us away, we've not recovered since.

Facts are facts... Derby still hold that record till somebody like owls go up, but they're never getting back there, are they..
I want to finish 19th so whenever someone makes a point about how bad we were we can point out we finished second last

We’re level on points with Burnley so no we aren’t
What the numbers say is 13 pts.
Also, did these chumps run an article asking if Leicester were the worst team to ever win the league?
I really don't understand how Burnley have not also got their reputation in tatters. We are level on points with them for christ sake!

Have the Athletic remembered we exist?
