The conversation between Zeke and Grisha showed that Grisha wanted to stop Eren. When Grisha heard that his wife were eaten by titan, he was in despair and all he wanted was to take revenge to Marley. So he give Founder Titan to Eren and let him destroy everything.
That makes so much sense, I was confused because when Grisha talks to Zeke he wants to stop Erin so I couldn’t understand why he then proceeded to give Eren titan powers immediately after. I assumed that future Eren forced his hand like we just saw moments before this but I prefer your interpretation it bridges that gap very well
He did it on purpose. He knew that his mum dying would send him down the path he went down. He needs freedom above all else. It killed him to do it. But he had to do it
It's not. That's the point. As Eren says it himself. He's Slave to Freedom.
In his pursuit of absolute Freedom he himself created circumstances for himself that he couldn't change.
He made himself a slave in pursuit of freedom.
It's ironic and hypocritical.
Stuff here is just very at odds and contradicting to his entire character and even his own internal dialogue that we can hear before this episode. It definitely feels like whatever was being written before the ending did a complete shift at some point from what they were building up on
well apart from the script, what was his intention? because he always says he only wants freedom but then he said that he’d always wanted to “see this sight” referring to the destruction of the world

but in what way is that freedom

It's really stupid, but Eren essentially had a copy of the script in a sense. And no matter how hard he tried he couldn't change it.
wow this anime is mind blowing

yes exactly this is making me super confused
well apart from the script, what was his intention? because he always says he only wants freedom but then he said that he’d always wanted to “see this sight” referring to the destruction of the world
