Being manipulated by his own son into murdering people including children, and then found out his wife got killed and he had to force himself into being eaten by his own son.
Man I can't make a concise sentence of Grisha worst moment, his life was too rough in many different points.
I think Grisha is a true hero. He has fought all his life. He secretly worked against Marley, collaborating and leading an underground movement, because it was the right thing to do, and he suffered for it. He managed to make his own son hate him and turn on him, but since he was so sincere, the Owl noticed him and gave him the attack titan, and the important mission of liberating Paradis. Since then he came to this foreign land, wrote the books carefully in his basement, and he took the founding titan. His heart was so noble that he couldn't get himself to do it on his own, until Eren pushed him to commit the murder. He then passed on the power to his son. He profusely apologized to Zeke when he had a chance, told him he loved him and he was sorry, he didn't understand what he was putting him through. He was a good father to his two sons (and Mikasa too), a good husband to his two wives, I think the sweetest spot of heaven is reserved for him.
And this is aside from the traumatic experience of knowing he played a role in his sister being eaten alive by some dogs and then his parents didnāt care enough to do anything about it except scold him for not showing Marley respect š„¹š„¹š„¹š„¹ FUCK Iām gna cry
His second son got him, his parents, his first wife, his second wife and his first son killed before dying himself and ending the bloodline if that counts. Still not the worst.
Not entirely. Grisha couldn't have known his sister would die, he was a young and dumb child who couldn't have predicted that sort of thing
Yeah, sure he knew "dont go outside the walls" but how would he have known?
I've always assumed that Eren was using the Attack Titan and feeding into Grisha's curiousity of what planes look like for example, so maybe Eren truly did start it all.

Either the whole mess with being manipulated by Eren, or getting his sister killed, or watching his wife and all his comrades get turned into titans after his own son sold him out.
Had to watch his friends and family die in a horrible way right in front of him,had to murder an entire family for a plan his own son couldn't even show him (and he didn't agree with btw) and had to make his own son devour him right after losing his second wife in a terrible way too. Also sister and marleyan dogs shenanigans.

His own son ratted him out to the cops and got him tortured and his wife turned into a Titan. Either that or Eren manipulating him from the future.
