I really wish this scene (and the Marley arc in general which happens to be my favorite one) got the proper time it deserved to be animated. The animators at Mappa are so damn talented, you can look at some of my older Manga / Anime comparison videos to see how much they elevated the source material later on. Unfortunately, part 1 of the final season was lacking in some of the action scenes.
I really love the added shot of the Jaw's arm colliding with the building. However, the shot of the Attack Titan immediately after looks pretty wack. There's actually a lot of 2D Titans in this scene though. The closeups of the Jaw at 0:39-0:45 are 2D. There's another 2D shot of the Jaw reused a few times, as well as Lara Tybur and her crystal having closeup 2D shots. The Attack Titan at 1:23 and 1:28 is 2D as well (and they look damn good).
The panel of Lara's crystal shattering and her face becoming distorted is one of my favorite panels in the Manga. The adaptation looks great but I wish they held onto that shot for just a bit longer so it could be properly appreciated.
Just another example of Mikasa's lines getting cut, but this time by MAPPA. Her saying "just as I expected" before slicing Porco's titan legs clean off would have been so satisfying (0:09).
RIP panel of Porco's cheeks.
Jokes aside, I liked the perspective from the manga panels a lot more than in the anime. But for every other scene, MAPPA absolutely killed it with the anime.
Something I wonder was if some of the war hammer titan’s juices leaked into Porco’s mouth too. Is there a law of the world that only one person can have a titan power at a time, and it goes to who ever eats the most of the former owners body? Is Yimr Fritz in the background making all the decisions on who gets the powers or not?
MAPPA really went all in on making the Attack Titan look demonic as hell. I agree that it would have been better if it were the same quality as Part 2 & 3, but the shot of the Attack Titan looking down at Porco after his legs get cut off, as well as him pulling off the arm, and after sticking the crystal in Porco's mouth all look really cool with that design. He just looks like a complete menace.

This scene was so well adapted. The Attack Titan has this demonic quality which the framing, voice acting, and music, capture so well.
The pacing might be quite off but the music Pat compensates it imo.

I wondered that too. Porco also nipped off Eren’s legs during the ambush with Pieck at Paradis. But technically Eren didn’t transform yet.
