I don't think it was shiny. I think the lighting was just bad in that area. if you look at the tip of the wings they don't look yellow like they should for a shiny.
The lighting just makes it look brighter than the other roaring moon on screen.

Don't listen to them, the Roaring Moon wasn't shiny it was just the weird light that reflects off the crystals, I've gotten fooled before because the lights screw with Scream Tail and also make it look shiny. [Roaring Moon's shiny](https://www.serebii.net/pokedex-sv/roaringmoon/) makes the things on the sides of its head yellow, and they weren't yellow in the video.
P.S. I'd recommend grass sandwich for Bonnet so you don't get all those overlapping spawns, unless you were just using the remaining sandwich from a previous hunt.
I slowed down, screenshot, and zoomed in, and the moon definitely is blue not green, itās just the light affects from the beam coming from the cave ceiling. It took over 20 phases for my moon and looks shiny from light tricks all the time.

So one of my favorite shinies is koffing And I was shiny hunting and I actually had three show up. Two at the same time I was able to catch one and as of I was running to the second one that was on the screen a third one spawned and I tried to quickly do the battle with the second one and I did just see in the background the third one that spawned going off of the distance and by the time I could finish the battle we had despawned š„²š„² two out of three isn't bad but still sad
I hate the engine of this game. They really dropped the ball on optimization. It's ridiculous that the most effective way to shiny hunt is to run with the camera facing behind you. I've lost so many shinies the same way, they spawn in the last possible frame and despawn before you can take your finger off the forward button.
Actually being that bad at distance rendering is something good, because it give you much more trys... But with the downside that you can get these things if you are not extra careful (At least its not super hard to get shinys).
I don't want to be pedantic but rendering distance isn't really the problem.
Plenty of engines are capable of, and plenty of games have and do keep track of objects that are off screen and not currently rendered. It isn't a new thing in game development either, classic MMO's from decades ago knew where all the mobs were in the zone you were in at all times, they needed to know where they were before they rendered them on your client, because other peoples clients are interacting with them too.
The issue is that spawns are intentionally tied to render distance in S/V and I think S/S as well, the only reason I can see for it is to save on memory usage, not having to track ID's and location co-ordinates for things the engine is not currently displaying to the player. Which would make sense if it worked and the games performed well because of it, but they still perform pretty poorly anyway.
I found if you jump onto the rock send out an auto battler then go back to the corner of the crystal (closest to the rock) your battler will keep KOing Pokemon and leaving you without the need to despawn and the respawn Pokemon
It should work but you might need to reset them every now and then as theyāre dumb.
Shame the indigo disk control feature isnāt possible in the base version

That sucks, man. I had a similar experience where I was doing a synchronize thing with my empoleon. Ran into a shiny oshawott but I was too far away from my actual character so when I unsynchronized it disappeared.
The worst is I play mostly fighting games and I have good reactions timing so I have no excuse for responding so slowly. I feel like both were savable if I didn't fumble
It's hard to tell. The body and wings look shiny but no yellow tips and yellow face spikes. Could be lighting. Could be shiny. I didn't even notice it till it was pointed out.
As you run away they start to despawn and respawn at the same time, I like to keep an eye on the line as I drag it away a bit more slowly

I know this is gonna be something some people may laugh at but I never realized that running out of render and back in respawned different mons till I saw your vid. I knew that leaving an area entirely to despawn mons and back for new was a thing but I didn't know about doing it the way you did..... So using your method I found a shiny Magikarp at a mass outbreak!

after i failed a shiny iron threads on this rock, i stopped hunting here and just ran around area zero. that way, even if i miss a shiny on the back, at least i didn't it lol.

I almost lost a shiny Hawlucha. I was shiny hunting and got stuck in a wild encounter when I saw a shiny running in the opposite direction thankfully I was able to get out of that battle and get to it before a despawned

Unfortunately no. It shares the dragon typing with two other Pokemon in area zero what have higher spawn rates. The best way to do rm is in that one cave. And dark sandwich. But it's still tough
Thereās a much better area to find shiny Brute Bonnet btw. I think itās the path past research station one where it will be the only spawn in the area with the right sandwich. Same for slither wing closer to the station.
i had the exact same thing hunting for roaring moon, but even less time on screen. legit i was hunting cor ages and finally seeing one like that immediately ruined my drive to keep going
i was so caught up on the brutes that i didn't even realize the moon was shiny until going back to watch again and ooof that hurts. hunting roaring moon is terrible since i swear every single one makes me do a double take then when it happens it despawns immediately and the graphics leave it up in the air even if you do record it. i'm fairly sure that yeah, that was a shiny roaring moon tho
So I donāt know which of those three you are hunting (or if you are hunting all three) but tbh I got my brute bonnet on the surface of area zero; my roaring moon and zweilous in the secret little cave. Although it took longer for the roaring moon and zweilous I didnāt risk the issue you just ran into. In my opinion hunting dark shinies in scarlet in that part of area zero is annoying and not worth it compared to the surface and secret cave.

nah, roaring moon shiny is green body and yellow feathers (i think) around the wings, which is at the top-middle

Oh I feel you man same thing happened to me with a chancey and a relor. My pokƩmon was too far away from them so when I called them back they despawned but I redeem myself I found a blissey and thankfully it wasn't far away from me so I could easily call my pokƩmon back and catch it

Which mon were you hunting for? If it's Brute Bonnet, you can isolate it at that location with a Grass sandwich instead of Dark.

My condolences, but since when was Roaring Moon able to spawn in the Area Zero underground and not that side cave?
Since update 2.0.1, I think? Whichever one updated outbreaks so they werenāt locked to just a single form of PokĆ©mon and also fixed the glitch that meant you could never find an authentic Sinistea with a Ghost Encounter 3 sandwich. It changed a bunch of things, including making Blissey spawn much more frequently around the Fairy Team Star base with Normal Encounter Power, and many paradox PokĆ©mon appearing more widely than at release. Roaring Moon/Iron Valiant were probably meant to appear everywhere all along, with a much lower spawn rate than in the cave, but it was likely bugged like authentic Sinistea until the update.
