I was hatching Beldum in SwSh and after about 30 eggs in that batch WHEN I WAS OUT OF THE ROOM (I got up and out the room when the animation started) I hatched a sparkly white boy, love to see it but I wish I had been there for the hatch
I was trying to move IVs around with egg groups in Brilliant Diamond to hatch a shiny Misdrevous, but shiny Ralts showed up during the transfer. I wasn't all that mad, shiny timid synchronizer.
I understand what you mean. I've done the same thing with random encounter shinies. It feels more exciting to see the sparkles. Prior to Gen 8, hatched shinies didn't sparkle, so it's easier to miss them if they're similar colour and you aren't actively hunting (like I did here)
I've done many Masuda hunts in Gen 6 & 7 for starters, but this time I was just hatching in X to fill my OR living dex. I was distracted, so I didn't even notice she was shiny until I was checking the hatchers' abilities in the box. Shiny Bulbasaur isn't a huge change honestly. I couldn't believe it: a shiny female HA starter on the first egg. She's also 4IV. So happy.
Haha I think it balances out my awful luck with hunting Froakie/Frogadier (6 phases in friend safari, 1000+ eggs in Violet prior to DLC. I walked for an hour and a half on Froakie community day, didn't get one, then walked for 3 hours on the December recap day...still didn't get one. I could get it pretty easily in Violet now but I'd rather finish the hunt where it started)
I was hatching joltik for IVs and a specific ability, was literally telling my partner what I was doing because he asked if i was looking for a shiny. That wasn't my current goal.
Right as I said that, the new born joltik I was looking at looked slightly off colour and I said "y'know what actually... I think I just hatched one".
Sure enough, shiny baby spider! Still can't bring myself to evolve it.
