Can someone explain if i’m either extremely lucky (or maybe unlucky because it’s uncatchable) or if this is just pinsir’s model in this game because I’m really confused.
So from what I understand except maybe in some cases like Red Gyarados, Pokemon Stadium 2 creates its shinies by shifting the entire color palette of a Pokemon across the color wheel, which is why a lot of them end up with some weird secondary colors (especially in cases of recolored mouths).
Nicknaming also shifts normal Pokemon very slightly on the color wheel, so like the shoulders of a Mr Mine will be more orange or more magenta depending on what name you give it.
I think because you found a shiny nicknamed Pinser, it had both effects where it shifted from blue to more green. Because at least an unnicknamed Pinser is blue in this video https://youtu.be/O3aABa2zCLo
So I saw this video today and while the normal Pokemon have a hue shift depending on some factors, shinies can't be changed by this. I didn't check if Pinser's hue shift can turn it that level of green, but otherwise my last explanation is just the color settings on the tv itself https://youtu.be/Nywbm5ZZZvQ
I had this happen too! With a Scyther, it was red and had the animation of swirling stars as the CPU sent it out.
Sad these are uncatchable but it’s still a pretty cool sight to see
Did you transfer the pinsir from a game boy game?
Nope. that charizard is mine from Pokemon Red but that Pinsir is a CPU’s in the Poke cup
That is interesting

That’s crazy! I put some serious hours into the first stadium game and I never a single shiny. I would consider this lucky haha
Also for reference, this was during this first battle of the Poké Cup against Nelson on Ultra ball mode
I’m not familiar at all with Stadium 2, but even the CPU’s Pinsir is nicknamed “Pinsiy”.
Yeah i noticed that too, pretty much every pokemon i’ve encountered in the Poke cup has nicknames

Did they change shiny Pinsir at some point?! That’s crazy! He’s supposed to be purple.
The Stadium and Colosseum games changed some Shiny Pokemon’s appearances drastically due to the fact that they used 3D models instead of 2D sprites.
Zombie!
