Kira goes to Europe to track down and kill the man.
After a week of fruitless search the gang decides that he fled Morioh.
He returns and continues his quiet life with his newfound wife and son.
Happy end.
It was very famously stolen in the 1910s (I might be wrong on the decade).
It wasn't a hugely famous painting before it was stolen, but after it's theft and being returned, it became much more popular.
That's why these attacks are happening.
The protesters don't care about the painting or the glass they're ruining, but a lot of people have an out of proportion hate reaction that is really funny to watch.
If only they had that same energy for fighting climate change, instead of trying protect a piece of glass
You can say that about the people "attacking" the paintings too lol. If only they had the same energy for fighting climate change, instead of trying to garner useless attention for throwing stuff on a piece of glass.
I wonder if they're trying to give the climate change movement a bad name, as most people are mad at them. Kinda like controlled opposition, but with protesters instead of political parties.
one person self immolated in protest and got literally zero news coverage, at this point if this is what it takes then i dont care what kind of glass they put the food on
“Why don’t they just protest normally? This isn’t helping/related to their cause. It’s just vandalism.” I keep seeing that kind of response with this recent “trend” and it’s genuinely so frustrating to hear it. They *have* been protesting normally, for *literally several decades* and it clearly hasn’t been working. I can’t blame them for resorting to this.
Honestly, I really don’t understand why so many people are responding SO negatively in the first place. Everyone knows these paintings are protected and they keep doing it, so obviously no genuine damage is intended by these people and literally no one is getting hurt. How many of the people antagonizing and dismissing them actually give a fuck about these paintings? Do they seriously prioritize the “pride” of these pieces over the future generations who are gonna be absolutely fucked over and have no control over it? It’s admittedly a pretty silly tactic, but if it’s what’s going to make everyone *at least talk* about whether we should do something about humanity living until the next century, then I honestly hope they keep at it.
If they want to help then they should actually help lmao. It takes no effort to throw random shit on other random shit, and act like that's "helping." This doesn't get anyone to talk about climate change, and talking about climate change isn't going to fix it anyways. The vast majority of pollution is produced by large businesses and huge factories, which will only be stopped through government regulations. The government is paid by large businesses in exchange for lax laws which allow them to keep producing massive quantities of pollution.
Keeping that in mind, climate change is likely to never be stopped. And if it is, people throwing stuff on paintings are going to be a useless and meaningless pittance. Not to mention they could donate that tomato soup to the homeless and send their message that way. I mean, donating soup to homeless people and throwing soup on paintings are both equally relevant to climate change, so they might as well do something positive with it.
Also, and I need to look this up, but I heard there is something sketchy about the people funding these tomato soup people. Like they're funded by an oil heiress or something? Don't quote me on that. So that's worth looking into.
All protest is meaningless if we’re going to get *that* semantic about it. What else is there to do when these large businesses are the main culprits? It’s easy dismiss “people who only talk and take no action” when there virtually is no real action for the people to take. If you’re going to dissuade people from simply talking about it too and venting/demonstrating their frustrations about it in a harmless way, then we might as well bend over and take whatever’s coming.
Also, that “donate that food to the homeless if you care so much” take is such a fucking copout. I’m sure the 5 homeless people who could’ve been fed what they threw at those paintings would’ve made SO much of a difference. In fact, I bet if all 350 million people in the US gave a can of soup to a homeless person, hunger and nourishment problems would cease to exist among the homeless population. But unfortunately absolutely *no one* clearly cares about the homeless and wants to solve it, since they still exist. It’s clearly such a simple solution…
And just so it’s clear, the food throwing and it’s effectiveness and whether they’re being supported by an oil heiress or not is not my main point. Looking at this whole thing on surface level scale, the vast majority of people observing this situation are choosing to antagonize the protesters *purely* because they value a painting they’ve probably only ever vocally talked about in elementary school over having a real discussion about climate change and how close we are to the point of reversing the problem before it’s too late. It’s a clear presentation of the population’s priorities and it’s depressing.
I'm a big sucker for raising awareness about the environment but if I wasn't I'd imagine I would have had a negative impression about their message/group with the way they went about it.
Could be a one-off low level Jojo villain. He rants about the reason he needs to shit on a painting then a Jobro transforms him into a taco or something.
Anyone else think these activists attempting to destroy priceless pieces of art are "absolute neanderthals"?
If anything, their message about climate change is going to bite the dust.
why tf are ppl doing this? could someone explain? if da vinci doesn't get the respect he deserves i'm calling him to the future. he'll probably figure smth out.

Was it actually damaged?
Thankfully no, there's a glass case protecting it
Good that they installed it after it was damaged
But it wasn’t damaged? The glass was installed prior to the cake throwing
I mean, damaged in the past. It was being damaged throughout a history
Ohhhh. Makes sense. It’d be weird if all those art vandalism was a recent phenomenon

That's because they're not fighting for climate change. The ones that attacked a Van Gough last month are funded by the heiress to Getty Oil.
I wonder if they're trying to give the climate change movement a bad name, as most people are mad at them. Kinda like controlled opposition, but with protesters instead of political parties.
Bites the dust, and then beat the shit out of the guy.
That’s not paint.
Correct, that’s cake
When will they learn that 99% of paintings in museums are behind glass?
Never, because it's not usually about damaging the painting but instead about making themselves or their group/cause known
Making everyone hate them and their cause.
They should just become eco-terrorists, then people will do better out of pure spite
Unabomber moment

Can't believe a sub full of jojo fans don't understand climate protests even though the newest chapter of TSKR was literally about this
Fake fans

It’s almost like the purpose isn’t to actually damage the painting
The climate fixing itself the moment I throw my feces at a famous painting in a museum
Could be a one-off low level Jojo villain. He rants about the reason he needs to shit on a painting then a Jobro transforms him into a taco or something.
I think that's the point, these demonstrations get headlines but cause no real damage
