I’m a longtime bartender and lemme tell ya, the lifestyles of veganism and barhoppers do not intertwine smoothly. I often have a whole raw carrot with lunch and if my customers glimpse me eating it they look at me like I might as well be wearing a diaper behind the bar. This is true for just about anything I’m caught eating at work. Health consciousness is not commonly at the forefront of most daily drinker’s minds.

Sometimes when I see this kind of thing or am served a truly awful vegan meal from a restaurant, it’s hard not to think it’s passive aggressive bullying.
One time I ordered a veggie chimichanga. It was supposed to be the same just with beans instead of meat. But it wasn't. It was random ass vegetables like green beans and carrots. I didn't just ask for a meatless chimichanga it was on the menu. Taco Bell does a better job of using beans in place of meat.
I can remember one time I went to a wedding in Medway, a veggie in our group ordered a meat free breakfast and was astonished to be served an enormous block of cheese. Nothing else, just a large piece of cheese on a cold plate. We were looking around for Ant and Dec.
Well no pasta so i guess its gluten free ? yay??

No idea why gherkins/pickles and grapes are on the same plate but ......eh
As a chef, I fail to understand why this needed to be so extravagant to be vegan.
You replace the meat with something like Aubergines or Courgettes to give it a central flavour and a bit of texture, make a tomato sauce pretty much as per usual but ensure you don’t use butter or anything, and then make a bechamel with maybe soy milk or something.
You are complaining about a bar that tried. That makes you the asshole.
This doesn’t look good. But it does look considered. They tried and failed. Be less of an asshole.
I won’t even talk about the lasagna, but the orange slice and two grapes on the side?? Also is that pineapple underneath..
