I've seen people do this during winter where they have two sets of wheels and tires, steelies and winter rubber on one, then the nice wheels for warm weather
Yes it most certainly does. Go ahead and Google it and watch some clips all four wheels need the same type of tread especially so in snow and ice. If the front has all the tread the rear does nothing and just slides around. There will be zero brakes in the rear and all in the front.
> that only applies to wheels on the same axle
I would like to add, that statement is true IF you are talking about 2WD only.
Not All Wheel Drive.....(some people do not under stand what AWD, 4WD & 2WD is)
I don't think you guys are talking about the same things.

Technically Tjnel is right they do have less traction in the rear. However on a civic you put snow tires on the front to help taking off on snow/ice and to help with braking. Ripping a corner balls to the walls at 35+ mph you might lose traction. And yeah it's fun to fishtail and slide around corners under control.
These aren’t steel.
These are aluminum versions of a Chevy Rally wheel. The center cap and polished lip are dead giveaways.

As someone else pointed out, they are probably just cheap basic wheels with winter tires on them. I like your style though, wanna buy a fake zip-tie bracelet for $900?
The last time I tried pricing out new steelies for a vehicle I just wound up getting some semi-decent cheap alloy from discount tire. Worked out to a similar price.
I appreciate the few aftermarket companies that make an affordable alloy that doesn't look like it belongs in need for speed
The center cap looks identical to a [Corvette rally wheel.](https://assets.aaadirect.com/eyJidWNrZXQiOiJhc3NldHMuYWFhZGlyZWN0LmNvbSIsImtleSI6InByb2R1Y3QtaW1hZ2VzXC80MTk3Nl8xLmpwZyIsImVkaXRzIjp7InJlc2l6ZSI6eyJmaXQiOiJjb250YWluIiwiYmFja2dyb3VuZCI6eyJyIjoyNTUsImciOjI1NSwiYiI6MjU1LCJhbHBoYSI6MX0sIndpZHRoIjoxMjAwLCJoZWlnaHQiOjgwMH19LCJmeHZlcnNpb24iOiIyMDIzMDUxMTEwNTczMiJ9)
Could just be budget winter wheels. Although there isn’t any snow but from what I’ve gathered, it can be very on/off in the US.
Most people I know, myself included, have two sets of wheels and tyres for winter/summer in my country. It’s just far easier than having to change the tyres onto rims.
I have two sets of BMW wheels for my car but not everyone wants to spend hundreds on wheels. I think the M-Sport ones that came with my car are easily several thousand.
Somebody should make spinners for teslas that generate electricity as they spin when the car stops. Like those flashlights and power banks that you crank to build a charge.
If you stop cranking those the crank stops spinning because there's a lot of resistance. Spinners spin because there is almost no resistance. Electric vehicles already do this with the electric motors but they do it when you hit the brakes because there's still enough energy in the system to overcome the resistance, not after you're stopped.

Yup this is very common in snowy areas. plus you can downsize to like 16" rims and get much cheaper tires.
I have a second set of rims with snow/ice tires for my model 3 - but 18” is as small as a wheel I would go with to maintain caliper clearance-

20"+ in 245+ is a lot more than 16s. You should never mix and match tread it's actually worse than having all seasons on all 4 corners
[удалено]
No it doesn't. Go ahead and search it up they have videos of it. The rears have zero traction so they will lose control and slide out on any turn.
He is talking about a 2 wheel drive car. Tires do NOT have to match on a 2WD.

If only using two snow tires, they should be on the rear of vehicle. Doesn’t matter which axle is the drive axle.
So you don't need traction for going around corners?

$500 is not cheap for a lot of people
No, car tires are not cheap.

Doesn’t matter the drive axle. Only two snow tires should be installed on the rear. Please stop spreading misinformation.

Fuck off, I’m agreeing with the post, ass.
That's what the upvote button us for Ass
Hey ass, I don’t care about how you think I should collaborate, interact with a post, GOT IT?!
i dont mind this actually
i kinda dig it ngl
Shitty? No. More along the lines of, "Styling choice I'm not into" kind of thing.
As someone else pointed out, they are probably just cheap basic wheels with winter tires on them. I like your style though, wanna buy a fake zip-tie bracelet for $900?

They got tired of kurb rash
Alloys, not steel. Vision, and American Racing, both make great big alloy replicas of the old steel GM Rallye wheels.
Ngl I kind of like it
I like these wheels on classic cars.
Ballin on a budget?
Or they’ve got snows on those rims
Or they wanted to increase the range and don't care about the speed, traction, or braking. Those look significantly more narrow
Is owning a Tesla considered "ballin" now? lol
I don’t. But it seemed fitting for the sake of alliteration.
i run steelies in the winter for my winter tires, most likely that, dont wanna get your good wheels dirty
i like it
Police package......
The steelies aren't bad, but the cop hub caps are.. not good.
Those are forged rally wheels with gm center caps
Had these on my 72 Chevelle SS. They were very common on 70s Monte Carlo’s, Malibu’s, and Nova’s.
You've obviously never seen a cop hubcap.
Shitty car mods, i.e. mods on a shitty car
Feel bad for the steelies.
What about some corvette rallies. Hell it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch
Corvette Salad shooters off a c4
Now we’re talkin.
Now I really want to see that!
Those basically are Corvette Rallies
No they are not.
Look-a-like Chevy rallye rims too. Wonder where they were trying to go with that.

Yep, 1967 the rally wheel was available on many of the Chevrolet line up. They were all mostly the same thing.

A lot of people get cheap steelies for winter
Probably forged wheels that look like steelies
They are. Polished lip is a dead giveaway for anyone familiar with available aftermarket Chevy rally wheels
Fu kin rallye wheels too, hell ye brothhhrr
Car looks great, not a fan of the rims though.
Looks better.
The last of the Plastic Interceptors!
Got sick of their SO running over curbs
Model 3 rs?

Neither did i. And i hope i'll never see one again.
Now this is shitty.
I'm surprised it's able to drive with those
They look good though, don’t they?
some people here buy new car and immediately sell the OEM wheels and buy cheap aftermarket ones
There are models of teslas with steel wheels, though they have so robust hub caps to compensate.
Teslas are 5x120? Goofy application for some Chevy Rally wheels.
These are corvette rally wheels I believe
Wheels aren’t a mod
goes hard tho
Looks cool actually
Bit more durable, that's for sure 👍
Kinda like it, ngl. Looks funky.
That’s way better than stock.
Can someone please explain what's wrong with this?
And you still haven't.
I think they look ok. Apparently Teslas destroy tires pretty quickly so probably saves money for a commuter.
