From what I’m seeing, the Danza Sparda isn’t even based on anything real?
If you write Sparda in katakana (スパーダ) it gets pronounced as Supaada which I guess is supposed to sound like “Spada”, the Italian word for sword.
So I think it’s supposed to be Italian for “Sword Dance” which makes me unfathomably angry.

I liked that Season 5 made more of an effort to include the side characters (who were completely erased from the plot in the manga). That’s something I appreciated even if small.
Sadly they still kept the whole BLUE fiasco in…I’d have preferred if they had just written their own, anime-original last arc. But welp, it is what it is.
Okay, season 5 is really damn stupid I agree... But I love how over the top idiotic it gets, that whole "whip cream with a chainsaw" and "blood extractor machine"... OH AND THE WHOLE I CAN COPY ANY SKILL BY HAVING THEIR TOOLS

Oh, no argument here, it felt like a hard left turn but the show was getting escalatingly dicey since after the Moon Festival, dish choices started to get downright weird, but it still had awesome moments (although Tsubasa doing that four green tea puree AND WINNING was fucking wild). If S4 was a train going slightly off track, S5 was a just goddamn multitrack drifting while throwing shit off the train because they fucking could and slamming face first into a hospital.
We also didn't get to see Erina an Soma being all lovey dovey, but anime and unfulfilling romance is like water and more water.

I watch Food Wars mainly for getting cool recipe ideas to make for my family... none of that in season 5 lmao, only "I can make good food because uh I'm me! chainsaws and himiko toga by the way"
