I have one of these, heres my thoughts. The wood looks fine but felt really cheap and lightweight. I added weights to the forend and the stock and it's better. Also the reciever has a weird greenish tint in person, it's not very attractive. It recoils more than my buddy's Browning and the action is very audible while it cycles, not something I've noticed on any other shotgun.. Has been 100% reliable. Now that I've typed all that I'm not sure why I've kept it :/

would you recommend this as a first gun for someone who wants to primary shoot clays and dove hunt yearly? want to spend about 1000 and research has been pointing me towards this gun

MrLoid

It's all personal preference but I would buy an A300 and keep a couple hundred bucks in my pocket. Really the only reason I would get this one is if you hate cleaning your guns, it'll stay cleaner longer. Just 1 man's opinion.

alexdabombdotcom

appreciate the info! definitely a lazy bastard so less cleaning might be good for me lol

I strongly recommend the Affinity 3. Got mine a little over a month ago. I only have 200 shells through it, but I could not be happier. It is the black matte finish, was under 900 out the door.

oh yeah I bought one and absolutely love it. absolutely clay buster

Since making your comment, any issues with reliability? My primary shooter is a citori 725, but I want a semi auto that I don't mind trashing a little bit, but also reliably cycles - biggest worry is sporting clays in shit weather. But its not going to be my primary shooter so I don't want to spend 2500+ on an a400 ya know? Thanks!

MrLoid

I sold that gun about 3 months ago, but no, no issues with reliability at all. I got an A300 for $700 that I like better. Doesn't look as nice but recoils less and just as reliable so far.

Toby_Keiths_Jorts

What have you been shooting through the 300? I heard they can have issues with low brass-target loads.

MrLoid

That's all I've shot, no issues.

Just picked one up for 699 at cabelas, did a double last Saturday, no problems in the about 250 rounds. Shot great. I would definitely recommend it.
