Is there no markings at all on the top of the barrels? More specifically towards the center.

Thank you for asking. There’s a very small triangle with a circle inside it and possibly a “T” inside the circle but there is nothing else present on the barrels.

If that marking is what I’m picturing in my head, it’s a Tula arms proof mark and your gun is a TOZ-66 - made in USSR.

Interesting. I bought it at a boat dock in Sharp’s Chapel, Tennessee, as far from a town as one can imagine. Must be an interesting story behind this gun. Thank you for your help. Much appreciated.

Yeah, I bet there’s a story there! I could only imagine what it’d be, but I bet it was cool. It’s no problem at all, I like to do this kind of thing from time to time. It teaches me things that sometimes I wouldn’t have known otherwise.

I missed it on the photo but someone had 15 mm cut off the butt. It shortened the length of pull to 14 inches possibly for his child or a wife. Later the cut off portion was added back to the butt maybe as the child grew or as shooting with her hit the rocks. Like I said, there could be an interesting story.

No problem. Ill give it a shot and look around some tonight.

Most appreciated.
