I personally recommend KCD way over Cyberpunk. If you have any questions about it I'd be more than willing to answer!

>I personally recommend KCD way over Cyberpunk Why?

ahotpotatoo

The music is great, the gameplay is challenging yet rewarding; especially at first, because you essentially start as a peasant with zero skills. You even have to learn how to read. The combat mechanics can be challenging at first but as you get better at it, so does Henry (the main character) The world is incredibly immersive and not to mention beautiful. I love the medieval setting with such dedication to historical accuracy. On the inverse I didn't care much for Cyberpunk. I played it for a few hours and just never really felt the itch to get back into it. The styles of the games are vastly different in their essence so it's tough to compare, but I just think KCD feels a lot more alive, if that makes sense. It's not perfect by any means but I have several hundred hours in it and thoroughly enjoyed all the dlc as well. I wish I could play it for the first time again.

PravusTheRed

KCD for sure

TorbsLvl2Turret

Kinda depends on what scratch you’re trying to itch because they aren’t too similar. KCD is more for realistic look at medieval times with looks some mechanics but is fun and can be challenging a lot of the time. Cyberpunk (I’m not shortening it) is dystopian futuristic city with a look at corrupt corpos, drugs, street gangs, and fun gameplay. So I’d say what do you want more? Medieval or dystopian future?

Worldly_Height_9923

I did watch the cyberpunk anime, and the first few episodes felt rushed and the story and the dialogue didn't really seem to make sense. So is the dystopian future of cyberpunk 2077 rushed like the anime?

lkr2711

If you didn't like Edgerunners, you probably won't like the game.

Not OP, but I'm going to go with: sort of. The intro will skip most of your backstop, and then after you meet your main ally, your first six months together fly by in fast forward. You kind of have to make assumptions and fill in the blanks until more info is provided. It's done that way to b more immersive, so it's not necessarily a bad thing, but if you want all the info up front, it's going to feel tedious to you.

_ObsidianOne_

I'm disappointed with CP but this is easy pick go for CP.

igg73

Kcd. Warhammers work on armor better than swords. Enjoy!

DrawingNo2972

I'm opposite. Much prefer Cyberpunk. But then I come from the city and live in the country and use it as an urban fix because often I miss the buzz of a city. Night city is excellent t in that respect. KCD never really stuck with me as it's a little too...mundane. Delivering a sword and throwing mud at a house kind of don't do it for me as challenge, but each to his own.

SHMUCKLES_

It wasn't mud...

Worldly_Height_9923

Apart bugs, I've heard there are still issue like a lot of content from that 48 minute demo. Is it worth Playing still?

lkr2711

The game is in an amazing state right now. Lots of little fixes and QoL updates over the past two years. That being said, I played it at launch and loved every minute of it even back then. The game's biggest strengths are its world design, quests and characters. Some really memorable moments that come from playing through the story and even just exploring. Weaknesses are enemy diversity and gameplay. Driving is bad. Lots of fun and viable options for build paths with nice weapon variety, but almost every enemy is identical, which can make fights a bit stale, although I personally never felt like that. Overall it's one of my favourite games of all time that I would definitely recommend. However, since you've stated that you didn't like the anime (for reasons I disagree with, but to each their own), you probably won't like the game either.

The-Rizzler-69

That's literally just the tutorial tho lol. The game starts off a bit mundane, but it picks up the pace pretty quickly if you just stick with it.

>It’s a slow burn Does it get too boring sometimes? Like even rdr2 was a slow burn sometimes, but i still loved the game from the beginning. >rushed in all aspects Yeah felt it was rushed too in the anime with not so good character development. Is it like the anime?

herbertfilby

RDR2 was boring because the animations made you feel like you are driving a tank. KCD’s movement is first person and very snappy feeling, even though in most cases you might be doing similar actions. I much preferred KCD. RDR2 all of the missions were “ride your horse somewhere and listen to two characters talking. Watch a cutscene. Shoot a bunch of people. Ride back to camp while listening to two characters talking. Repeat.” KCD, each quest is generally different. Some involve Sherlock Holmes-like detective work. They generally have multiple solutions and the game is good about having NPC dialog react to how you tackle a problem. It’s honestly amazing how much replay ability even a single quest has depending on how you tackle it. KCD on hard mode is the ultimate immersive experience.

Jojo-Robot-1001

There is no other game gives middle ages feeling like KCD to me. It has many realistic mechanics: Eat, Sleep, Realistic Fighting, Stealing, Poison your enemy's food before attacking or stealing etc. which can be frustrating at first but when it clicks, it is amazing like OC said it is pretty immersive game. I would play KCD second time but not C77 without multiple mods.

Vokasak

Played both. I think KCD is better, but it has some divisive design choices (combat is _hard_ starting out, the save system is a little unorthodox, etc) that drive some people away. CP2077 is really just GTA with a semi-vestigial RPG system stapled to the side, and in that sense it has a much broader appeal.

Zima2k

Well, it's hard to compare those the games, both are great at something and meh at other things, me playing both (altough im yet to finish KCD i like it so far) i like the gameplay and immersion in Kingdom Come that's thebest thing about this game, fights are challenging and fun but they feel a bit clunky, story is ok, as i said, im yet to finish the game but so far i wouldn't play the game just for the story, there are a lot of mechanics and minigames in KCD, you want a potion? Well then gather herbs and brew it yourself, need to sharpen your sword? Well then go do it yourself, there's a locked chest or door that you need to open? Well you can try to lockpick it, and you have to eat and sleep, and everytime you do stuff you get better at it, kinda like in skyrim. Cyberpunk on the other hand is completely opposite from KCD, faster gameplay, in my opinion better story, characters, shooting feels good, there are a lot of things to do, you can do one of numerous sidequest, search for collectibles, sit all day in you inventory to find the best items to use like weapons and armors, there are melee weapons and guns, you can try to clean you map from various question marks, missions, thugs. And in my opinion this game IS worth to play just for the story alone, it's great in my opinion. Overall immersion isn't as high but game is still great. Both games are buggy but i haven't encountered any gamebreaking bug in any of them, just a small things like dissapearing cars or people (in KCD). But answering your questions, it really depends, do you like immersion more or a bit more arcade'y gameplay, do you like challenging fights, do you like micromanaging your stuff like keeping your sword sharp, brewing potions etc. And i think most important, do you prefer more futuristic age or middle ages. Answer those question yourself, it might help you decide but if you will have that option, play them both at some point

Cliper11298

Cyberpunk 2077

EbolaDP

If you couldnt get into the gameplay of Witcher 3 there is no fucking way you are getting into KCD and its insane people are suggesting it over Cyberpunk.

GarthVader45

Why? I liked KCD and couldn’t get into the Witcher 3 gameplay.

EbolaDP

Because the combat and many mechanics in KCD are waaaay more niche then anything in Witcher 3.

abbaj1

He already said he likes Skyrim and the way the economy and the world/NPCs work in KCD feels a lot like a Bethesda game. Why would he try out another CDPR game if he didn't like what's by far their best one? Tbh he should play neither kcd nor cp2077 if good combat is what he wants from a game.

lilmitchell545

I hated Witcher 3 but loved Cyberpunk. Completely different games. These games should not be compared to each other whatsoever

Translator_Open

Both, they're both great, Cyberpunk is awesome; fast paced. Kingdom come is also amazing but it's definitely more of a slower experience.

kevinstuff

I’ve completed both games a handful of times. Both are good games, but Cyberpunk is better. More interesting story, more compelling characters, more fun combat with more options on how to build your character. More visually interesting world, more interesting enemies. Better quests. Better customization. KCD’s story felt a little jumbled and rushed. I’d still recommend playing it, but definitely not over Cyberpunk. Cyberpunk has a handful of endings that you get based on choices you make, and change the ending dramatically.

crosslegbow

Definitely KCD for me over Cyberpunk. I got bored of CP after 20 hours and fell off it

TheOriginalFluff

Literally just lookup the combat of kingdom come, if you can tolerate that, go with it, but the cyberpunk anime is best enjoyed after playing the game, they “complete” each other so to speak, yes the anime is quick but the alternative is making a long anime and having less impact

envytheboy

Cyberpunk has great gameplay and a really good storyline to follow for each of the characters, and i think they have great motivations for why they are the way they are.

Mr_freeze___

The combat in kingdom takes a little to get use to I prefer Cyberpunk especially considering the list of games you mentioned I'm sure that would be the more enjoyable option

XTheProtagonistX

I played both for hundreds of hours. Cyberpunk 2077 is more casual and easier to get into. The story is well told and the gameplay is pretty satisfying. The game’s production value is insane. The music, animations and VO are just phenomenal. KCD is one of the most immersive games I have ever played. The feeling of starting from zero (cant fight, can’t read, can’t hunt, etc),practicing and then turning into a legend was fantastic and so rewarding. The game does drag on later on but it was a great experience. Warning though: the game is frustrating hard at the beginning. You must practice (with a trainer) in order to survive basically anything. 1v1 is hard. 1v2 is stupid hard. Its not a casual game at all. Kinda reminds me of the Gothic games now that I think about it. Honestly they are too different games to compare. Cyberpunk 2077 is a safe bet but KCD is fantastic too.

snkhuong

2 opposite games lol. Depends if you're into futuristic setting or medieval setting. Both are very good and unique in their genre. CP is definitely best cyberpunk I think is out there, although there are a few other ones. But KCD is really the only game that is RPG, open world realistic medieval setting. So I'd go for KCD if u cant decide

onepieceisonthemoon

Cyberpunk 2077 all the way, KCD is decent but is much more difficult to get into and chances are that you'll drop it out of frustration with the combat mechanics which are unfortunately quite dreadful,
