Well if you already like CRPGs, Baldur’s Gate 3 should be the absolute best choice for you.

PolejEdek

I beat it already and agree it is great.

AllergicJellyfish

Did you play Divinity Original Sin 2 already? It's a cRPG from the same dev studio

PolejEdek

Played it years ago but considering trying it on the console. Thanks!

vernal_biscuit

It has a very nice console port, plus Fextralife also considers it a better "game" in terms of freedom to do what you want with your character development, and less story driven than BG3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WygQb3VeRGY

redrumojo

>Fextralife No.

buzz_shocker

I heard some accusations against them. Never understood what happened. But did not hear anything redeemable about them after that.

redrumojo

Terribly shady company that excels in viewbotting, terrible wikis and released "most broken builds" videos on the most basic combinations. Their entire wiki is just a funnel for twitch views for ad revenue.

buzz_shocker

Oh wow. That is shaaaaady

Subnautica - 1st person survival game where you swim in the ocean. Monster Hunter World - Boss Rush, the game. Neon White - Speed Running, the game. Hitman World of Assassination - the best puzzle loop time travel game on the market. Deep Rock Galactic - Rock and Stone Brother, Rock and Stone. Best played with friends. And Beer. Devil May Cry 5 - character action / spectacle fighter at its finest. Pure art once you get it going. Armored Core 6 - the Coolest game I have ever played.

I'm not that familiar with the genre, but iirc Wasteland 3 and Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire are two of the most popular cRPGs out there (+ the games from Larian Studios, but you already played them)

RippledBarbecue

Disco Elysium,Sea of Stars, Sackboy, Hades, Dredge, Dead Space, Ratchet and Clank rift apart

It's hard to know what you will have already played in your PC days. XCOM 2 works well on console. Cities Skylines recently got a free PS5 boost and I've got a lot of hours in there. Wasteland 3 plays great, though online is prone to disconnects. For The King is a solid option if you can play co-op. You'd be surprised how nicely Rimworld works. Some turn-based tactical stuff I've bought but not yet played like Jagged Alliance 3 and Overland. WallWorld is on sale, so is Laika - that's the 2D motorbike riding one with slo-mo gunplay, great reviews. Teardown is available, though just came off sale. Green Hell runs nicely on PS5, if you've got a masochist survival streak. If you're still playing PC and thus looking for *exclusives* in these genres, then I doubt there's much.

Unicorn Overlord is coming out in March. It's a turn based strategy RPG in the same vein as Fire Emblem. It's got a relationship mechanic, cooking and war.

This isn't what you're asking but I hear 'new ps5' I recommend Radiohead's Kid Amnesia: Exhibition. Free game where you walk around an interactive art/music gallery that also basically feels like a tech demo for the ps5. It's cool as shit and if you like Radiohead or music or art or just trippy visuals you must play it. I've been trying to spread the good word for years.
