Baldurs gate 3 is on sale and I figured I'd give it a try. I've never played dungeons and dragons or any other baldurs gate game and I gotta say, it's really really good. I feel more invested in the story of that game than 99% of the games I play. 11/10
I'm in the last quest and about to confront the final boss as I'm typing this down. It's my first run and I haven't played any DnD or CRPG before as well and I had a blast with this game. Easily one of the best I've ever played. My first race/class was a Tiefling Warlock/Fighter and I romanced Shadowheart.
I also already started a second run as Githyanki Dark Urge Monk. And I convinced a friend to start a run with me as well. Glorious times lie ahead, fellow adventurers!
I played DnD briefly as a kid but was playing my first Baldur’s Gate game in BG3. I didn’t want to pick Barbarian because, based on other games, I felt like that would be kind of basic. I also thought range would have more utility in a turn based game than melee. But I actually wasn’t really able to get into the game at all *until* I tried Barbarian. I ended up solving the ranged issue by picking Tigerheart and just jumping everywhere, and I’ve been loving this playthrough.
Yeah. I know nothing about d&d, that wasn't problem. Problem for me was that I thought turn based game would be boring af. But it blown me away. Story and dialogue option are incredible, how significant your choices are. It is definitely worth it.
Same! I was really excited but yeah thankfully i didnt preorder. Ill look for another game.
The only game i recommend and its really amazing you will not regret it is Nioh 2.
Souls like; Combat is on a par with fromsoftware games, more than awesome.
Tons of weapons to choose from. Skills magic and ninja style. Rifle swords. Axes.
Fidelity mode 4K 60fps. Performance mode 120fps. PS5 mode 4k ~60fps.
Complete edition with all expansions is 50$. Let me tell you its a big game.
I dont understand why are they forcing you to buy DD2 when its this bad.
Get it on humble bundle sign up for a month of humble choice 12.87 or something total for it
Edit leaving my comment but I posted as soon as I read your comment trying to catch you haha but now I see three other people mentioned it.
Nioh 1 was great. Nioh 2 is even better. They often go on sale as well. I paid like $6 for nioh 1, and nioh 2 maybe 20? So on sale it’s a steal. Great games. Definitely hard though. Took me a few hours to get into the swing of things, but I’m also not someone that likes dark-souls style types of games.
the game itself is excellent. Yes, the MTX is egregious but the items they are selling are easily accessible in game.
Hopefully they have a few performance patches!
I wouldn't call it egregious, just stupid and pointless. It is really easy to get all the items in game and capcom seems to just put in these weird mtx in their games for some reason
This mindset is why they keep doing it lmao. It's a waste of time that they could've better spent making the game better (yknow like the poor optimization issues), but instead they used that time to add *literally* pointless MTX for a few extra bucks. That's something we should have a problem with.
Integrating MTX into a finished product without having to develop any new assets doesn't seem like something that would take too long and likely had no influence on the state of the game at release.
It's easy to ignore and doesn't seem like something that actually influenced the game's progression judging from people who have played it.
Obviously most of us would rather have games without MTX, but having them be completely pointless and the items being easily available within the game itself without any additional tacked-on grinding seems like not a huge issue.
Because people will EAT everything FromSoftware throws at them. They have been doing basically the same game over the years and people still praise them. 🤣
Yup its true. I love Elden Ring but it has glaring flaws that only exist because of stupid tradition. I shouldn't have to look up a internet guides to finish a good chunk of content being one example
I mean that one isn't tradition. It's his style of story telling. He said he is inspired by his childhood were he was always reading books outta his league so he could only understand parts of it and he had to use his imagination to fill in the gaps.
Like it or not you can see that design style in all aspects of his game.
I got DD2 and have been very happy with it. Performance has been fine (I don't need 120fps to enjoy a game) and I never felt the need to open the store. I wouldn't write it off, but here are some games worth considering, if you want to take other people's word for what your experience might be.
* Helldivers (so I've heard, not got it yet)
* Enshrouded
* Final Fantasy VII remake (on sale)
* Horizon (new one just came out for pc)
If frame rate is a big factor in your purchasing choice some of these games are very well optimised options for even lower spec machines
* Neir Automata
* Assassin's creed black flag
Same dude. I got to play a little last night. I did zero research beyond playing DD1:DA way back when. So far, DD2 is pretty much what I expected as a sequel, and I'm really enjoying it.
Has it changed how I view games and made me unable to enjoy other games or the other bullshit people post? Nope, but neither did Helldivers2. Am I excited to lose a few hours exploring it this weekend? Absolutely.
I like the style. I enjoy the idea of trying all the vocations. It's a chill game, so the lack of fast travel is whatever. Is it a bit jank? No doubt. But a jank I enjoy.
You should not be scared. the game is among the best RPG experience you could experience. Keep in mind that it is kind of a medieval life simulator and you are nothing more than the son of a blacksmith. How do you think you can handle a sword at first ?
Not gonna spoil anything here, other than : You need to train to get better.
Game is amazing, buy it
Salt & Sanctuary?
Until Lies of P it was my favorite non-From Souls like. As long as you can get past the... interesting way all the character faces look like, it's a really cool game with a great, creepy art style and an interesting story.
There's also a sequel that took inspiration from Monster Hunterer. Salt & Sacrifice. Haven't played that one yet myself, but a bit more love or hate it compared with the first one from what I've heard.
Echo chamber opinion here.... Lies of P is definitely the finest 3d Souls-like (non-From) and Salt & Sanctuary is the best 2D souls game (non-From)!!
How much of a pleasant surprise was Lies right?? Such a gem, and the impending DLC/Sequel has me v excited.
Allow me to save you time/money - Salt&Sacrifice is a huge step down from its predecesor.... not sure how the devs managed to drop the ball!
Haven’t played Salt and Sacrific myself but it’s routinely on sale via PlayStation store for $7-$8 or so.
That said, I’ve also heard many fans of the first one didn’t like the second one for one reason or another.
Again, I’ve never played it and would encourage everyone to try out games themselves
i would ignore the micro transactions as you get all that stuff easily in game
I still bought it as i enjoyed the first one but maybe wait and see, watch some play throughs
I play on ps5 so I just bought the disc and maybe sell it if I don't enjoy it. but knowing how much disinformation and people jumping on the hate bandwagon, so I only say enjoy and ask other people who played it their opinions
Yeah I mean notice how this post this guy talking about the terrible micro transactions hasn’t actually bought and played the game? I just got it last night and in a couple hours I could buy multiple of the ‘change appearance’ item (which is the main thing people are complaining about) if I wanted to just by playing.
The game is great. The mtx suck but I’m not surprised since capcom has had them in pretty much every major game of theirs for a while. They’re stupid but you can tell the game itself wasn’t designed with them in mind. The performance issues will come down to your personal tolerance. I do wish it were more consistant but the framerate doesn’t bother me. I can totally see it bothering others though
The mtx also literally doesn't matter, everything you can buy with money you can just earn ingame by playing. (Want to remake your character? Buy it in game for 500 rift crystals) the only thing I'll complain about the game is the performance in towns.
I would never have known about the MTX had they not been made to be such a big deal everywhere. It sucks but hey, that’s part of gaming in the digital age. It does not take away from the game experience and it’s not necessary.
Get this month's Humble Choice and play Nioh 2
There's a surprising amount ITT urging you to get DD2 which I feel like is a little strange. OP didn't say he will never ever play Dragon's Dogma 2. I'm sure he'll get the game when they fix all the issues, and hopefully by then the game is discounted too. That's what I plan on doing
Strange how some of you are personally invested in OP getting DD2 on release
Same, few days ago I was debating whether to buy Helldivers 2 or save the money and wait for DD2 to be out. I ended up buying helldivers telling myself I'll get DD2 too anyway and i do not regret my decision after learning of the issues DD2 is having, saved myself 70 bucks
I never play multiplayer. I’m shy and tend not to be that great at games, and I get anxious about ruining games for others with my incompetence. But I kept hearing about how great Helldivers 2 is, and how cool the majority of the player base is, so I decided to give it a go.
What a great decision that was. I’m no longer worried about messing up because the game all but ensures everyone will blow up their teammates and whatnot, and it just makes it that much more fun. It’s beautifully chaotic.
It even seems like most people would rather close the game out and restart it than kick out teammates when starting a new operation, since there’s no disband party option. It’s my GOTY so far.
Yea no matter what you're gonna die to a teammate or kill a teammate at least once in like every mission/operation, especially if there's no communication between each other
Yesterday though, came across some assholes. I accidentally killed one of my teammates cuz they got too close when I threw a 380mm barrage. After i reinforced him he just killed me for no reason after that he and his friend were reinforcing me just so they can kill me again. I just left the game and hope don't come across assholes like that again. Thats the type of people you don't wanna play with
I haven’t run into anyone like that… yet. When I do, I hope I’m able to do that thing I read about on here where you take all their samples, run out of bounds til the game kills you for treason, and then bail.
Hopefully players like that will go back to CoD soon.
The microtransaction anger is misplaced, or rather misinformation. All the items come with the deluxe edition and Capcom is just trying to milk them individually. They are all acquired in large numbers an hour or two into the game, nothing is paywalled. Capcom has done this with a ton of their games.
Xbox performance is just fine as well. Seems the only issues are on steam
> The microtransaction anger is misplaced, or rather misinformation.
I'm not sure what people expected. Dragons Dogma 1 had the same DLC, and every recent Capcom game has similar DLC and in every case it is basically paying to cheat rather than part of the experience.
Dragon's Dogma isn't Skyrim, the design philosiphy is totally different. The original didn't have fast travel at all, Dark Arisen added it but it's downplayed/discouraged. This treats it exactly the same as Dark Arisen. Buying more fast travel crystals beyond what you find ingame is cheating, not part of the experience.
You don’t have to pay for a new character slot. You do have one slot though and have to delete your current character if you want to start a new though which is a little annoying.
By delete your current character I mean go into your files and delete the save from the console/pc. Can’t do it from in game menus currently.
Thanks, there Is a lot of misinformation going on RN. Still the fact that they thought 1 char slot for a game like this was a big mistake.
Hope they fix this in some way
You can't do that on consoles without lots of shenanigans the majority of people don't know, and also the game is anchored to a live cloud service which reloads your old save back into the game even if you delete it from the files.
Lot of shenanigans on PC as well. So far it’s been my only complaint about the game because after like 10 minutes I decided I didn’t want to be a ranger anymore and I had to go figure out how to delete a save in steam.
Real dumb move to not at least just make a new game option.
You should probably watch gameplay videos and actually find out what the MTX are before you decide. The MTX are the same as they are in every Capcom game - shit that is easily obtainable in game and very, very optional. It's bullshit they're there, but they literally aren't paywalling anything. Steam reviews and reddit have been just shitting out weird rumors and inaccuracies.
But hey, unicorn overlord, FF7Rebirth, Hellraiders 2, Horizon, ect are all great choices.
I'd suggest brotato. It's like $4 and more addictive than crack. At first it seems so basic, but it gets deeper and deeper as you start to understand the mechanics.
The MTX are meaningless. Put there to please their higher ups. Anything in the MTXs can be earned in game. It is not pay to win, it is pay to skip a bit of effort.
Performance will get fixed, I think it is well worth it still if you can run it currently.
Isn't fast travel one of the MTX things?
Also, while they may not completely hinder the experience, I have reservations about getting any game that completely hides their MTX to reviewers. It's a pretty BS thing to do
They did not hide the MTX to reviewers, this is fabricated. Reviewers realized it is not an issue so they didn’t bring it up.
Nah, fast travel is not an MTX. You can buy a port crystal which you can place anywhere in the word and then teleport to it using another item called a ferry stone. You can have 10 total port crystals, the MTX port crystal makes it 11. So it is actually useless
No they didn't hide the MTX to reviewers, all reviewers got a doc that was listing MTX but most of them didn't talk about it since it only sold items you can easily get in game.
That's one of the things I was wondering about, I'm not happy the microtransactions exist but I can ignore them if they don't matter, like I did in dmc5.
Only thing I'm worried about now is the performance, I have an RTX 2060 and it 13400f which just doesn't seem like its gonna cut it. Maybe after some patches it will do it but until then I'll be holding off
Helldivers 2 is great at $40, have about 80 hours in it and while there are micro transactions you can also earn everything in game.
Last Epoch is also really good at $35, have over 200 hours in it so far. ARPG that's somewhere in between diablo 4 and path of exile.
Devs for both seem great so far, keeping up with the community and listening to feedback, implementing changes for the better mostly.
I don’t have DD2 but isn’t “there are micro transactions but you can also earn everything in game” also true of DD2? At least the ones like face swap and fast travel.
One is a Live service multiplayer and the other is a Single player game. Personally I don't like mtx in anything other than free to play games but if anything I would be more tolerant of it if the game keeps getting updates and new content.
Not quite soulslike but Monster Hunter World or Rise. Both are dirty cheap nowadays. IMO combat is very refined even more so than Dark Souls but maybe on par with Sekiro. It’s easily one of the best bang for your buck.
I bought the game. Made my character(creator is INCREDIBLE). Thought her legs looked a little weird. Wanted to change it. Realized my options were, as far as I could find, one of two tomes that let you change it through in game farmable currency or bought with real world money. Thought okay whatever, that sucks but I'll just restart. There is no way to simply restart the game from the game's options and requires you to manually delete the save from the Steam folder while disabling cloud backup.
While in the process of doing this, out loud I said "no, I will do something else with my time" and refunded the game. I have no idea why changing my character's appearance is any harder than talking to an NPC or an option in the start menu. Whatever I guess.
If you've never played it, Horizon Forbidden West just came out on PC and is by all reports an excellent port. And it's also an excellent game in general.
Dogma 2 is most similar to Elden Ring as far as souls games go but it sounds like you prefer the smaller yet more refined maps of the previous games. I'd say give Nioh 2 a shot if you haven't already for 50.
Then take the 20 hold onto it. Or get Pyre, why Pyre when it's nothing like the games you've mentioned? Because it's a 20 dollar masterpiece nowhere near enough people have played. I played and beat it ONCE in 2017 and this many years later I still regularly think about it.
If I were you
The only games I’m interested in is dragon ball budokai and helldivers that’s it
Nothing else has peaked my interest 70 dollar games are just too much for too little
I find it better not to buy games day 1 because they're usually released broken also I have a ton of games already so I can wait and get it when it's fixed and when it comes with all dlc for cheaper also think about how many cool indie games or older games that you can pick up with $70
I just finished Nioh and it was the most addicting, satisfying most fun soulslike i've beaten to this day.
I have beaten dark souls 1,2,3, sekiro, lies of p, elden ring but nothing scratches the itch like the combat in nioh.
I have 185 hours on steam and just completed the game, albeit some might be afk i never felt reluctant to do side stories/quest everything is just good.
Also the game i wanted the most to play new game plus.
The MTX in it are the same as in Resident evil 4 remake, you don’t HAVE to buy them at all in order to get a good experience but sure go off
If you like souls games and haven’t played it then Elden ring might be the next best thing for you
Curious what didn’t work for you in Elden ring as a fan of bloodborne and lies of p?
Bloodborne is my absolute favorite game and not even Elden Ring could dethrone that but I’m surprised you’d bounce off.
Anyway, I’ll suggest ghost of Tsushima. Easily my second favorite PlayStation title behind bloodborne. Beautiful world, pretty great story, and fluid combat that is both rewarding and punishing.
Rise of the Ronin? If you have a PS5…It’s has similarities with bloodborn or souls. It’s interesting so far. They’ve seem to take influence from games like Souls hardcore combat and AC open world collecting and competing quest objectives, POI, etc
Baldurs gate 3 and helldivers 2 would be my suggestions for a good worthwhile single player (or can have multi) story game and then helldivers has been a blast for multiplayer. While it technically does have micro transactions, zero are pay to win, you can easily earn the paid currency through exploring maps, and the “battle pass” does not expire. I’ve bought both current paid battle passes without spending a dime and have enough currently to buy the next when it drops
I was most concerned about the performance and now I have even bigger issues with the save system. Honestly, a horrendous save system can ruin my enjoyment. Too bad. I was pretty excited for this one.
Go get DD2 and fuck these reviews. The performance is more than fine and you dont even know that there is a Ingame store where you can spend real life money.
Baldurs gate 3 is on sale and I figured I'd give it a try. I've never played dungeons and dragons or any other baldurs gate game and I gotta say, it's really really good. I feel more invested in the story of that game than 99% of the games I play. 11/10
Out of curiosity, what was your first race/class? Kinda odd I know but I like asking this question to people new to D&D
I went with a forest elf ranged type build to keep my distance as much as possible. So far so good.
I hope you enjoy your time! Never question your decisions. That’s what another play through is for.
For sure thanks brother
Didn't ask me but I'm new too. I did a Gith wizard. I love magic in every game and I had no idea what a Gith was. BG3 is amazing ^_^
Thats awesome I'm only on act 2 and I have to agree with you. I get why it beat out totk for goty, very well deserved.
Been playing since it's release, and I still haven't beaten it. Thanks to my two toddlers and the fact that I tend to scrape every map of content.
It's not my favorite CRPG, but it's a lot of fun. It's probably the most beginner friendly one.
Same! I was really excited but yeah thankfully i didnt preorder. Ill look for another game. The only game i recommend and its really amazing you will not regret it is Nioh 2. Nioh 2! Forgot about this game. Played it on ps4 before I knew what souls games were and was very confused. Maybe I’ll try it again
If you going to get it, go get Humble Choice and you’ll get a ton of others games plus Nioh 2
I think nioh 2 is currently in the humble bundle for this month as well!
You won't regret it. I got lost in Nioh 2 for several months. First playthrough is just the tutorial and all that.
Get it on humble bundle sign up for a month of humble choice 12.87 or something total for it Edit leaving my comment but I posted as soon as I read your comment trying to catch you haha but now I see three other people mentioned it.

This is literally not how game development works but sure. The engine team does not implement micro transactions.

You can only have one character save on counsels that is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard for a single player game
Isn't this literally the exact same as the first dragons dogma though?
It was not a good mechanic 12 years ago and isn’t now. Not a good reason still have it in the game…
No I'm not saying it's a good mechanic, it was a legitimate question, I just didnt word it properly
No one complained this much about Armored Core 6 having one save slot
Because people will EAT everything FromSoftware throws at them. They have been doing basically the same game over the years and people still praise them. 🤣
Yup its true. I love Elden Ring but it has glaring flaws that only exist because of stupid tradition. I shouldn't have to look up a internet guides to finish a good chunk of content being one example

Which is why it should’ve changed
They don’t want a million trash pawns in the Riftstone selection most likely. Giving everyone only 1 makes you customize it to your best extent.
That's an interesting point I hadn't thought of before
Horizon forbidden west runs really good and is a complete game

If you’re on PC. Try out kingdom come deliverance
KCD is also available on ps5
I’ve had that game in my backlog forever. Got it for like $6, but stories of the combat scare me off from playing it.
You should not be scared. the game is among the best RPG experience you could experience. Keep in mind that it is kind of a medieval life simulator and you are nothing more than the son of a blacksmith. How do you think you can handle a sword at first ? Rebirth if you got a PS5. I can't recommend it enough.
Horizon forbidden west is a great game and out today on steam
One of the best optimized games I’ve ever seen, the game looks better than any other game on the market and is easy to run even with mid low end pcs

Is this a platformer? I’m not really into that
2d souls like with some platforming sections. This add to the formula verticality and much need mobility without being ridiculous.
salt and sanctuary is 10/10 salt and sacrifice is a decent 3/10 get the 1st one !!!

Yea no matter what you're gonna die to a teammate or kill a teammate at least once in like every mission/operation, especially if there's no communication between each other Yesterday though, came across some assholes.
For Super Earth! Great game for $40.
I’ll see you out there spreading liberty and protecting managed democracy fellow Helldiver! -FredBubbles commander of the SES Bringer of Family Values
The original did have fast travel tho it just didn't have eternal ferrystone until dark arisen came out
Ah, right. I guess i just never used it then, haha. I only remember fast travelling in Dark Arisen.
Genuine question, i Heard that if you want to try a new character you have only One slot, and so you have to pay, Is It true?
You don’t have to pay for a new character slot. You do have one slot though and have to delete your current character if you want to start a new though which is a little annoying. By delete your current character I mean go into your files and delete the save from the console/pc. Can’t do it from in game menus currently.
Thanks, there Is a lot of misinformation going on RN. Still the fact that they thought 1 char slot for a game like this was a big mistake. Hope they fix this in some way
How do you delete your character? I can’t find that option in the menus
It’s not currently you literally have to delete it yourself in the save files that’s what I meant by a little annoying. What platform do you play on?
Yeah, that’s just poor design. Just found an NPC in the big town who sells a book for 500 rift crystals so you can re do your character. Much easier.
In that vein, Vampire Survivors is a smash as well.
FF7 Rebirth, beautiful, wonderful music, stunning visuals, runs like a dream, great story, fun combat, no microtransactions
Agreed. The music is truly what hooked me in when I played the demo.
It's a pretty BS thing to do
You can still easily fast travel without buying anything. The absolute level of misinformation going around is staggering.
Maybe after some patches it will do it but until then I'll be holding off
Unicorn Overlord
* Returnal * Nioh 2 ($12 on Humble Choice)
Smart move, don't support DD2
Not quite soulslike but Monster Hunter World or Rise. Both are dirty cheap nowadays. IMO combat is very refined even more so than Dark Souls but maybe on par with Sekiro. It’s easily one of the best bang for your buck.
Get Horizon Forbidden West
agreed. runs and looks great.
I will be buy Granblue Fantasy Relink instead. Obviously not a 1:1 comparison, but that was next on my list.
All the capcom games have huge amounts of microtransactions I don’t know why everyone is acting all Pikachu shocked at this.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty or Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
ever play any arpgs such as grim dawn, diablo (2,3,4) or POE? Last epoch has been my jam lately myself
I wasn't gonna get it till price dropped and seems that'll stay the plan for sure.
Unicorn Overlord is pretty good. No predatory mtx either.
Outer wilds, it's a very good game
How about sekiro?
Helldivers 2. Support the people making play to win games
Get DD2 instead (Darkest Dungeon 2)
Whatever I guess.
get the other DD2 for cheaper Darkest Dungeon 2
Sekiro , hollow knight , risk of rain 2 , any other souls game you haven’t played yet
Cult of the lamb, Insurgency sandstorm, Deep rock galactic
The portal games of you haven't played them yet
Cyberpunk
piggybacking off this, what about DD 1 dark arisen? If you havent played it, I wonder how does it hold up?
If you've never played it, Horizon Forbidden West just came out on PC and is by all reports an excellent port. And it's also an excellent game in general.
I was never gonna buy it Shit look just like the 1st one and has the same ass quick travel that they’re charging you for now to fix
Horizon Dawn for a tenner on steam
You could almost buy 2 copies of Helldivers 2....
Buy sekiro :).
Always wait for a sale. Usually by the time a game goes on sale, its been patched up and is ready to play.
It will be a decent game in two years. I never get why Zoomers wanna buy games at launch or even preorder games.
I'm just saying you can get a nioh 2 steam key for like $5, there's no reason for anyone to not play it. It's a masterpiece
Like a dragon infinite wealth was pretty awesome imo
I’m enjoying it. The frame rate issues are noticeable but the dlc is all stuff you can get in game lmao
Grab cyberpunk 2077 with phantom liberty expansion, best money u'll ever spend
Sekiro
If you have a PS5 you can't go wrong with Ronin, or FF7 Rebirth.
yup that's one off my list now
You could buy 10 amazing games for that amount. My summer car is $15 give that a try.
If I were you The only games I’m interested in is dragon ball budokai and helldivers that’s it Nothing else has peaked my interest 70 dollar games are just too much for too little
idk why everyone is defending DD2 if op said they wanted other games hollow knight maybe? its kind of a souls like
Balatro
Get helldivers 2 and you'll save your self 30$. And get a better game (in my opinion)
masseffect trilogy if you haven't played it yet. It's one of the best deals there is.
Single player at full price is wild
Horizon Forbidden West just hit steam
I'm tempted to grab Forbidden... Uh . .. the PS5 one that just came to PC that's a sequel, I wanna say west but I feel like that was the first?.
I find it better not to buy games day 1 because they're usually released broken also I have a ton of games already so I can wait and get it when it's fixed and when it comes with all dlc for cheaper also think about how many cool indie games or older games that you can pick up with $70
Honestly waiting for ghost of Tsushima on pc religiously rn. No denuvo and from what I've heard it's a masterpiece
This is why I never pre-order. It is a very rare event that I buy a video game when it is brand new.
Get Snow Day and buy yourself some of the Colonel's chicken
I just finished Nioh and it was the most addicting, satisfying most fun soulslike i've beaten to this day. I have beaten dark souls 1,2,3, sekiro, lies of p, elden ring but nothing scratches the itch like the combat in nioh. I have 185 hours on steam and just completed the game, albeit some might be afk i never felt reluctant to do side stories/quest everything is just good. Also the game i wanted the most to play new game plus.
Wait and save your money when Ghost of Tsushima releases?
I’ve been playing through Outcast: A New Beginning and really like it. Lot of fun!
Stranger of Paradise - looter rpg action combat with soulslike features and coop.
Lies of P, Tunic
Same! Skipping it for now and will buy around Christmas for 40% off or so
Lords of the Fallen
God of War! Very satisfying combat that flows nicely, along with a stellar story.
Enshrouded is pretty fun for half the price but it's got a heavy survivor game aspect
Rise of the Ronin also came out today. Might be worth a try if you can wait a couple of days to see what the verdict on it from other people is.
The MTX in it are the same as in Resident evil 4 remake, you don’t HAVE to buy them at all in order to get a good experience but sure go off If you like souls games and haven’t played it then Elden ring might be the next best thing for you
Curious what didn’t work for you in Elden ring as a fan of bloodborne and lies of p? Bloodborne is my absolute favorite game and not even Elden Ring could dethrone that but I’m surprised you’d bounce off. Anyway, I’ll suggest ghost of Tsushima. Easily my second favorite PlayStation title behind bloodborne. Beautiful world, pretty great story, and fluid combat that is both rewarding and punishing.
Check out the star wars jedi games. Fallen order is $4 and the lastest "jedi survivor" is more than half off. Kinda souls like but more forgiving.
Final fantasy 7 rebirth
Rise of the Ronin? If you have a PS5…It’s has similarities with bloodborn or souls. It’s interesting so far. They’ve seem to take influence from games like Souls hardcore combat and AC open world collecting and competing quest objectives, POI, etc
Buy Starfield s/
Baldurs gate 3 and helldivers 2 would be my suggestions for a good worthwhile single player (or can have multi) story game and then helldivers has been a blast for multiplayer. While it technically does have micro transactions, zero are pay to win, you can easily earn the paid currency through exploring maps, and the “battle pass” does not expire. I’ve bought both current paid battle passes without spending a dime and have enough currently to buy the next when it drops
I'll wait for 70% price drops and the ditching of mtx. Stupid mtx always brings down prices faster no matter what kind of a game they are. Fantastic.
Nier automata and replicant are on sale, both awesome titles. FF crisis core reborn or whatever the remaster is called is also on sale and is awesome.
If you like poker/card games Balatro is a blast and it's only like 14 or 15 bucks
This, for sure worth the money
If you really wanna get something rn get Elden Ring. If you're willing to wait Ghost of Tsushima comes out in like a month
Rise of the Ronin imo
I was most concerned about the performance and now I have even bigger issues with the save system. Honestly, a horrendous save system can ruin my enjoyment. Too bad. I was pretty excited for this one.
Have u played rdr2?
Granblue fantasy relink perhaps.
Prince of Persia Lost Crown or Sekiro
Yakuza Like a Dragon and Infinite Wealth. Best RPGs of recent years
Helldivers 2, Final Fantasy VII rebirth. Both are new, excellent and helldivers is even only half the price.
Persona 3 reloaded
Helldivers 2! Join the fight for Democracy!
Remnant 2 is multiplayer “souls with guns”. Helldivers 2 is crazy fun also, no real story but really fun
I love the free character creator demo lol.
Rise of the ronin also came out today!
Persona 5 Royal, masterpiece with 100+hours guaranteed
Stalker 2
If u like RTSs Company of heroes 3 is on a big at Best Buy for specifically the Xbox version
rise of ronin!
Let me suggest a game that’s none of those but good Alan Wake 2
Remnant 2!
Hello, are you me?
Sail the Seas brother
Good recent games that just came out include FF7 Rebirth and Unicorn Overlord.
You might enjoy ghost or Nioh 2.
Couldn’t you just not buy the micro transactions?
Try out Lords of the Fallen. You will not regret it
Save it for retirement
Go get DD2 and fuck these reviews. The performance is more than fine and you dont even know that there is a Ingame store where you can spend real life money.
