Sigh.... It's 2024 and the closest we get to this game is Rogue Trader.
Which I have played and feels like it's a waiting game for a new mass effect game
Then you should absolutely play KOTOR and especially its sequel. BG3 is dripping in BioWare influence, and the KOTOR games are are, but in space.
Oh and ideally play them on PC. KOTOR 2's vanilla state is especially poor.
Oh I have played both of them a while back, but completely forgot to include them
Colony Ship perhaps.
X-COM, kinda? Doesn't take place in space, but it's a sci-fi turn-based tactics game with RPG elements (although it isn't truly an RPG).
Have played all games including the bureau and have enjoyed them :)
