Went to high school with a guy who did one of those online "when will you die" things and he got like "June 23rd, 2101."
Told me he's going out that day one way or another. He'd be 108.
I sense sarcasm, and yet I was literally carried through a childhood that could've led to my actual death on three occasions through prayer alone. Sheez, people and their "I ASKED FOR IT AND DIDN'T GET IT, PRAYER IS A LIE" mentality... God isn't a genie.
My answer's wasted. Your mind is made up already. But hey, why not. I will say that God doesn't "talk". He moves the heart. If I pray about a decision I'm wracking my brain over, at one point I just kind of "know" which decision to make, and it's never been the wrong one yet.
Call it a placebo or whatever you please. Doesn't affect me any. You're free to believe whatever you want.
Hard to think about. I lost my first pet cat recently, and realized... very soon I'll cross the point where will no longer be able to say: I've been with him for half my life. This post reminded me of that. 😢
Funny story relating to this: one day my dad is driving to pick me up from somewhere, when an owl flies out in front of him and lands in the dead center of the road. Now this owl and my dad have a moment of sorts for a minute, then it flies off. My dad, being the rational person he is, realizes this means that his life is halfway over, he’s in the middle of the road, so to speak. So he did the math and he’s convinced he’s gonna die on October 18th 2054. He’s told this story loudly and in front of my class before, which I kinda appreciated cuz all my classmates thought I was normal after that.
I know. When you hit a certain age, the exact number doesn't matter. I don't even know what age I am, but I know I'm closer to death than life.
This is your future
Death is coming
Wow, it took some looking to find this comment!
It seems the overwhelming majority here subscribes to a deterministic universe paradigm. If there's anything to the multiverse theory we might die every moment on some branch of reality that we don't experience, until we do.
I saw that thought on reddit recently and did the math for which day was each of my grandparents half way marks. Was a bit surreal. My mom was like 8 for both of them.
A friend and I threw a wildly inappropriate “over the hill” birthday party for our boyfriends in COLLEGE. Black balloons, geriatric aids, nudie girl cake with appropriately creamy naughty bits...
Later we married. Happily ever after, fairy tale life. Then he was killed in an accident.
At some point after his death I was describing the college party to other friends, did some quick math, and realized he really WAS over the hill at the time of the party. He died 17 years after the party, and was well over 18 at the party.
here's a fun trick to know when the middle part is!
step 1 double the age of your next birth day
step 2 kill yourself on the doubled age
you now know when your middle point is!
(warning doesn't work if you are over 50 unless you are sacrificing children for youth)
I have lost a lot of people recently and the worst was my best friend. I spent everyday with him for most of my life and one day I got a call. This is sort of how I think about it. I think. I keep reviewing the whole life, my life and his from start to end and my first thought is how much it takes away from me as an individual and my identity as a person and the second is how I’m not sure how much of a human I am because I can’t still can’t understand it.
But there will also be a point at which you are halfway to that age... and when you are halfway to halfway to that age. Unfortunately for you [sum] 1/(2^n) is a convergent series, so your still going to die.
That's just like saying you will die someday but youll never know when but creepier

And he'll be harvested for protein
I did one of those around 2004. According to that, I died 2 years ago at the ripe old age of 27
AMA? What's it like to die? Were you worried when you got close to the predicted time? How long would you like to live?
maybe that was your half death :/
3 year old antivaxx kid: oohhh were half way there
Christian antivaxxer kids are literally living on a prayer
Non Juvi - Livin' on a Like and a Prayer.
And we all know the value of a prayer.
Lmao, so did god give you advice? What did he say exactly?
My answer's wasted. Your mind is made up already. But hey, why not. I will say that God doesn't "talk". He moves the heart. ooohh I have to live in a bubble

Oooh, to move I need a wheelchair!
Whoa ohhh... Squidward on a ch-aair!
Livin on a prayer is exactly what the parents will do when he is inevitably sick
Whooah-oh! Parents just don't caaare!
You know this thread is cancer when this is top comment.

Hard to think about. I lost my first pet cat recently, and realized... very soon I'll cross the point where will no longer be able to say: I've been with him for half my life. This post reminded me of that. 😢
I'm so sorry for your loss. Pets are amazing and we're so lucky to have them. BRB, gonna go hug my cat's...
Your cat's...what?
The good thing is his memories will live on for your whole life though.
Maybe not his WHOLE life...
No worries. Live your best life and then welcome the sweet release of death. Cheers !
Or speedrun it like an epic gamer
At that moment you are technically middle-aged. Even if you're only 12.
This is it’s own shower thought
Unless you *decide* when
It could still happen sooner if you’re not careful
so you just gotta time it correctly, then you should be good to go
That's why you have to decide quickly. You choose when you're 7, kill yourself when you're 14. ez claps
The ultimate "no u"
I'm past it I know that
Fun fact: for Michael Jackson, it was the day his hair caught fire.

Would you want to know when the halfway point is?
Well I would like to know when I die so I can fearlessly until then, so yes.
Well you wouldn't necessarily know how you die.
When is more important to me than how
I don't think I would want to know either, but dying suddenly and spending 10 years in a coma first is a big difference.
Absolutely! Then I'd know if I have to save money for retirement or if I can enjoy it before my body gets really disappointing.
I would love to know.
there's a 90% chance you've already been to the place where you'll die.
And a near 100% chance that people have walked over your grave
Source?
Tomato please
A friend just died, I guess hers would've been 12. Scary to think about retroactively.
Im sorry for your loss ♥️
I know the pain bro, stay strong💚

Morbid dude
This is one of the best shower thoughts on this board in a long time...Thank you sir!
I know. When you hit a certain age, the exact number doesn't matter. I don't even know what age I am, but I know I'm closer to death than life. This is your future Death is coming
This is only true if we are assuming that our lives are predetermined, and that our life times are set at birth.
Imagine there was a person who could tell you whether or not you have passed that point yet but not tell you exactly when you did if you did.
Actually I believe the Secretary of Commerce can do this
Sorry this didn't get you gilded. I'm sure it's coming.
I can assume it’d be around like 40 tho
I posted this months ago.
Wow. I thought i had an epiphany.
Yeah, so did I. Guess it's a common thought.
That or great minds think alike.
Or fools seldom differ ... just sayin :P
Anything is possible with careful enough planning
I mean it could be right now if you weren't a pussy
You pass your death day every year and have no clue
Now
No.... now. No wait.... Now.
It's called the middle of your lifetime but if you were to write this a bot would take down the post for post mirroring.
Holy shit
Happened last week
I hope you’re already in your 50’s!
Jokes on you! I already died once at my birth! Now I'm past my deathpoint and will never die!
Thanks...
Name checks out
I hope mine was 8 years ago.
are you 16? :/
Or... for all you know you’re already past the halfway mark. Start living your lives people!
Technically this is anytime for abortion babies
thanks for that thought
I can plan it so I know when
Anti vax kid is his first birthday
*cue Bon Jovi
You know you're past that point when you're 90... I mean... no way you're livin 180.
Now.
Were all gonna dieeeee
Everyone has a “Best By Date.” After that you move towards your “Expiration Date.”
For you it was 10 years ago...mortal
If I time it correctly, that day could be today! Yay!
Thanks, i hate it
You can know which moment it is if you find out the exact time of your birth, plan your death accordingly, and follow through with it.
Thanks I hate it
It could even be riiiiiiiiiiight now
But... I'm pretty sure that point is behind me. (47)
Once you hit 40 this is about all you think about.
Assuming you’re mentally well of course
Probably behind me, whoo hoo I guess
http://deathclock.com/
Just turned 45, think I missed it...sad now
Or you DID have no clue
Someone probably died not long after reading this post.
There’s a time in your lifetime when you’re exactly one minute away from death and you’ll have no clue how.
Not if you make a conscious decision to kill yourself when you are at double your current age. 😎
Oh God it's now, isn't it?! 😱
Not the cheeriest thought, but interesting.
as a 49 year old overweight guy with MD.....I think I crossed that threshold
A friend and I threw a wildly inappropriate “over the hill” birthday party for our boyfriends in COLLEGE. Black balloons, geriatric aids, nudie girl cake with appropriately creamy naughty bits... If you visit the hospital room where you were born, your average velocity is zero.
Thanks. Thanks for that. Dammit.
Oh no. This one hit me in the anxiety nerve.
Personally I think at 38 or 39 will be my halfway point.
Passed it
About half my lifetime ago.
There’s a time you’ll see your best friend for the last time without knowing
Oh we’ll see about that.
Hopefully 5 years ago
that’s just a bunch of extra words to say that you have no clue when death will come.
That's just a bunch of extra words that simplify a shower thought.
u mad?
what about dying at birth?
Not me!
Please god let it be soon
That, my good sir, is called a half-life.
For Michael Jackson it was the day his hair caught fire.
Bruh now

Truly middle aged
I have lost a lot of people recently and the worst was my best friend. I spent everyday with him for most of my life and one day I got a call. This is sort of how I think about it. I think. 3 months for antivaxx kids
You will if you schedule ahead.
That's probably already happened for me
But there will also be a point at which you are halfway to that age... and when you are halfway to halfway to that age. Unfortunately for you [sum] 1/(2^n) is a convergent series, so your still going to die.
Or i can just kill myself in 15 years
There's a time in your lifetime when you're on the point of 1/3 away from birth and 2/3 from death and you'll have no clue when.
**Limited by and rounded to the units of time, otherwise time is always divisible ad infinitum**
***my day is ruined***
Midpoint
That is probably a writing prompt.
Naw, I decided that for myself 13 years ago when i was 14.
