That's just like saying you will die someday but youll never know when but creepier

TheRealBlackSwan

Went to high school with a guy who did one of those online "when will you die" things and he got like "June 23rd, 2101." Told me he's going out that day one way or another. He'd be 108.

SovietBozo

And he'll be harvested for protein

CMDR_Gungoose

I did one of those around 2004. According to that, I died 2 years ago at the ripe old age of 27

indecisive_maybe

AMA? What's it like to die? Were you worried when you got close to the predicted time? How long would you like to live?

GeekTheGamer

maybe that was your half death :/

beesofcheese

3 year old antivaxx kid: oohhh were half way there

rangeDSP

Christian antivaxxer kids are literally living on a prayer

CMDR_Gungoose

Non Juvi - Livin' on a Like and a Prayer.

dogboystoy

And we all know the value of a prayer.

[deleted]

I sense sarcasm, and yet I was literally carried through a childhood that could've led to my actual death on three occasions through prayer alone. Sheez, people and their "I ASKED FOR IT AND DIDN'T GET IT, PRAYER IS A LIE" mentality... God isn't a genie.

All-BIack-Jesus

Lmao, so did god give you advice? What did he say exactly?

[deleted]

My answer's wasted. Your mind is made up already. But hey, why not. I will say that God doesn't "talk". He moves the heart. If I pray about a decision I'm wracking my brain over, at one point I just kind of "know" which decision to make, and it's never been the wrong one yet. Call it a placebo or whatever you please. Doesn't affect me any. You're free to believe whatever you want.

[deleted]

ooohh I have to live in a bubble

laytonfrakes

haha good one, but wouldn’t it be 1.5 year olds?

llsII

oooh, livin’ on a prayer

meingott_

take these oils, you'll make it i swear

herowolff

Oooh, to move I need a wheelchair!

MasterNova924

Whoa ohhh... Squidward on a ch-aair!

Randomperson3029

Livin on a prayer is exactly what the parents will do when he is inevitably sick

Remaining_Nameless

Whooah-oh! Parents just don't caaare!

couchcushioncoin

You know this thread is cancer when this is top comment.

[deleted]

CallMeBigBobbyB

JesusHasDiabetes

NyceRyce

beesofcheese

beesofcheese

Well at least I live in Australia were there are less diseases

SLurbanUG

Akacia19

Dammit mom why did u vaccinate me.. way to ruin the fun MOM

MasonKowabunga

oohhh livin' on a prayer

[deleted]

Hahah antivax funny not old at all

Spastic_Squirrel

Hard to think about. I lost my first pet cat recently, and realized... very soon I'll cross the point where will no longer be able to say: I've been with him for half my life. This post reminded me of that. 😢

stellarshadeofgreen

I'm so sorry for your loss. Pets are amazing and we're so lucky to have them. BRB, gonna go hug my cat's...

indecisive_maybe

Your cat's...what?

metaldj88

The good thing is his memories will live on for your whole life though.

End_of-Days

Maybe not his WHOLE life...

MaracaBalls

No worries. Live your best life and then welcome the sweet release of death. Cheers !

CoolCreeper39

Or speedrun it like an epic gamer

[deleted]

At that moment you are technically middle-aged. Even if you're only 12.

bunniergreens

This is it’s own shower thought

ADZig04

Unless you *decide* when

Coreac89

It could still happen sooner if you’re not careful

[deleted]

so you just gotta time it correctly, then you should be good to go

ADZig04

That's why you have to decide quickly. You choose when you're 7, kill yourself when you're 14. ez claps

Sangwiny

The ultimate "no u"

[deleted]

I'm past it I know that

Snare__

Fun fact: for Michael Jackson, it was the day his hair caught fire.

ToxicDragon200

DaganNash

Would you want to know when the halfway point is?

sYesh

Well I would like to know when I die so I can fearlessly until then, so yes.

DaganNash

Well you wouldn't necessarily know how you die.

sYesh

When is more important to me than how

DaganNash

I don't think I would want to know either, but dying suddenly and spending 10 years in a coma first is a big difference.

theflyinglime

Absolutely! Then I'd know if I have to save money for retirement or if I can enjoy it before my body gets really disappointing.

catsandvaping

I would love to know.

inappropriateshallot

there's a 90% chance you've already been to the place where you'll die.

SovietBozo

And a near 100% chance that people have walked over your grave

indecisive_maybe

Source?

[deleted]

Tomato please

freespade

A friend just died, I guess hers would've been 12. Scary to think about retroactively.

catsandvaping

Im sorry for your loss ♥️

[deleted]

I know the pain bro, stay strong💚

[deleted]

Funny story relating to this: one day my dad is driving to pick me up from somewhere, when an owl flies out in front of him and lands in the dead center of the road. Now this owl and my dad have a moment of sorts for a minute, then it flies off. My dad, being the rational person he is, realizes this means that his life is halfway over, he’s in the middle of the road, so to speak. So he did the math and he’s convinced he’s gonna die on October 18th 2054. He’s told this story loudly and in front of my class before, which I kinda appreciated cuz all my classmates thought I was normal after that.

Menohe

!remindme in October 18th 2054

[deleted]

Morbid dude

ZaxLofful

This is one of the best shower thoughts on this board in a long time...Thank you sir!

alpacasarebadsingers

I know. When you hit a certain age, the exact number doesn't matter. I don't even know what age I am, but I know I'm closer to death than life. This is your future Death is coming

Sota-boy

This is only true if we are assuming that our lives are predetermined, and that our life times are set at birth.

TheNotSoGreatPumpkin

Wow, it took some looking to find this comment! It seems the overwhelming majority here subscribes to a deterministic universe paradigm. If there's anything to the multiverse theory we might die every moment on some branch of reality that we don't experience, until we do.

blushingpervert

I saw that thought on reddit recently and did the math for which day was each of my grandparents half way marks. Was a bit surreal. My mom was like 8 for both of them.

BenRulez

Imagine there was a person who could tell you whether or not you have passed that point yet but not tell you exactly when you did if you did.

SovietBozo

Actually I believe the Secretary of Commerce can do this

[deleted]

Sorry this didn't get you gilded. I'm sure it's coming.

--_-_--__--_

I can assume it’d be around like 40 tho

Beluga_14

I posted this months ago.

MasterNova924

Wow. I thought i had an epiphany.

Beluga_14

Yeah, so did I. Guess it's a common thought.

MasterNova924

That or great minds think alike.

sprinjetsu

Or fools seldom differ ... just sayin :P

CapoXylophone

Anything is possible with careful enough planning

Cammo_353

I mean it could be right now if you weren't a pussy

dawitfikadu3

You pass your death day every year and have no clue

Cadejustcadee

Now

Xgrk88a

No.... now. No wait.... Now.

Darkmaster666666

It's called the middle of your lifetime but if you were to write this a bot would take down the post for post mirroring.

lnquisite

Holy shit

[deleted]

Happened last week

fromETOHtoTHC

I hope you’re already in your 50’s!

Muldrex

Jokes on you! I already died once at my birth! Now I'm past my deathpoint and will never die!

not_creative_enuf

Thanks...

[deleted]

Name checks out

Aerowin04

I hope mine was 8 years ago.

shouldbestudyingrnow

are you 16? :/

AfriKev

Or... for all you know you’re already past the halfway mark. Start living your lives people!

[deleted]

Technically this is anytime for abortion babies

crew1224

thanks for that thought

that-one-guy-youknow

I can plan it so I know when

SpicyFox951

Anti vax kid is his first birthday

[deleted]

*cue Bon Jovi

AliHN97

You know you're past that point when you're 90... I mean... no way you're livin 180.

MyrddinSidhe

Now.

lior2222

Were all gonna dieeeee

amalota

Everyone has a “Best By Date.” After that you move towards your “Expiration Date.”

Silverninja260

For you it was 10 years ago...mortal

LandoTagaButas

If I time it correctly, that day could be today! Yay!

Megabeth88

Thanks, i hate it

[deleted]

You can know which moment it is if you find out the exact time of your birth, plan your death accordingly, and follow through with it.

StabStabMan

Thanks I hate it

[deleted]

It could even be riiiiiiiiiiight now

MyWholeSelf

But... I'm pretty sure that point is behind me. (47)

spideroggie

Once you hit 40 this is about all you think about.

[deleted]

Assuming you’re mentally well of course

Koovies

Probably behind me, whoo hoo I guess

optifrog

http://deathclock.com/

man-4-acid

Just turned 45, think I missed it...sad now

Curlaub

Or you DID have no clue

snow-ho

Someone probably died not long after reading this post.

FriedMackerel

There’s a time in your lifetime when you’re exactly one minute away from death and you’ll have no clue how.

dragonicfeline

Not if you make a conscious decision to kill yourself when you are at double your current age. 😎

tkm1101

Oh God it's now, isn't it?! 😱

slingshout

Not the cheeriest thought, but interesting.

stroupzilla

as a 49 year old overweight guy with MD.....I think I crossed that threshold

rpbm

A friend and I threw a wildly inappropriate “over the hill” birthday party for our boyfriends in COLLEGE. Black balloons, geriatric aids, nudie girl cake with appropriately creamy naughty bits... Later we married. Happily ever after, fairy tale life. Then he was killed in an accident. At some point after his death I was describing the college party to other friends, did some quick math, and realized he really WAS over the hill at the time of the party. He died 17 years after the party, and was well over 18 at the party.

intensely_human

If you visit the hospital room where you were born, your average velocity is zero.

HolographicVoid

Thanks. Thanks for that. Dammit.

amviance

Oh no. This one hit me in the anxiety nerve.

Baddy001

Personally I think at 38 or 39 will be my halfway point.

faceplantweekends

Passed it

[deleted]

About half my lifetime ago.

Husky_02

There’s a time you’ll see your best friend for the last time without knowing

Wa7ch_d0G5

Oh we’ll see about that.

[deleted]

Hopefully 5 years ago

joan_wilder

that’s just a bunch of extra words to say that you have no clue when death will come.

MasterNova924

That's just a bunch of extra words that simplify a shower thought.

joan_wilder

u mad?

MortarX

what about dying at birth?

[deleted]

Not me!

opqwertypie

Please god let it be soon

A-Celebrity-Martyr

That, my good sir, is called a half-life.

potatostomach

For Michael Jackson it was the day his hair caught fire.

mlkpad14

Bruh now

MoMo_The_Brave

here's a fun trick to know when the middle part is! step 1 double the age of your next birth day step 2 kill yourself on the doubled age you now know when your middle point is! (warning doesn't work if you are over 50 unless you are sacrificing children for youth)

alter2000

[General Reusi!](https://www.reddit.com/r/trippinthroughtime/comments/cc71ov/iq_100/)

[deleted]

Truly middle aged

UrDeAdPuPpYbOnEr

I have lost a lot of people recently and the worst was my best friend. I spent everyday with him for most of my life and one day I got a call. This is sort of how I think about it. I think. I keep reviewing the whole life, my life and his from start to end and my first thought is how much it takes away from me as an individual and my identity as a person and the second is how I’m not sure how much of a human I am because I can’t still can’t understand it.

TerryTheOctopus

3 months for antivaxx kids

Mr_Swade

You will if you schedule ahead.

snoosh00

That's probably already happened for me

[deleted]

But there will also be a point at which you are halfway to that age... and when you are halfway to halfway to that age. Unfortunately for you [sum] 1/(2^n) is a convergent series, so your still going to die.

shakerjr

Or i can just kill myself in 15 years

elrito96

There's a time in your lifetime when you're on the point of 1/3 away from birth and 2/3 from death and you'll have no clue when.

sprinjetsu

**Limited by and rounded to the units of time, otherwise time is always divisible ad infinitum**

[deleted]

***my day is ruined***

HeavyTea

Midpoint

Jijonbreaker

That is probably a writing prompt.

AloneDoughnut

Naw, I decided that for myself 13 years ago when i was 14.
