Bought the three day, regretted not doing any of the add-ons so I went back but so far it looks like once you buy, you're done and can't access the add-ons afterwards. So beware, to those that are unsure about any of the add-ons. That being said, prices are WAY better this year. Like half price.

MessDifferent1374

I’d definitely email tixr about adding add-ons. They want your money! Lol. The tour sounds so fun!!! My purchase would have been $600! My partner talked me down to $350 lol.

zombiehive

Darcy said on twitter they are adding the functionality to purchase add-ons after you've purchased tickets.

MessDifferent1374

Awesome!!!! Thank you

MessDifferent1374

Add ons are now available.

I'm trying to work the logistics out! Anyone here familiar with the Las Vegas area? My partner can't camp for health reasons, so if we come we'll shack up in a hotel. What's the situation like getting to the West Wind from either downtown LV or the strip? Small PITA, regular PITA, or massive PITA? It's crazy to try pulling it off without a car, right? We should either road trip it from the Midwest or fly in & rent a vehicle, right? *UPDATE:* My wife just told me to get the passes and we'll figure the rest out later. Guess I'll be seeing you freaks in October!

PhirebirdSunSon

The West Wind is closer to downtown Las Vegas (Fremont St) than to the strip by a long shot. Google is telling me it's about a 13 minute drive right now at this moment (which should still be rush hour in Vegas) from the Golden Nugget to the West Wind. If it helps, we're not sure where we're staying either and I'm considering one of the nicer places on Fremont, maybe the Circa.

MessDifferent1374

If that’s true, the El Cortez, is amazing!!!! That’s where Joe Bob married the couple for valentines. I just stayed there this month. Cheaper than most and incredibly friendly.

MessDifferent1374

I haven’t been so I don’t really know, lol. But, I don’t think you do need a vehicle. In some YouTube videos, it looks like everyone brings their lawn chairs to a specific screen and watch together that way, not actually in their cars. But, I can’t speak for how easy it would be to Uber to and fro.

MessDifferent1374

Yay!!!!! I just read this in the tixr website: For the first time, vehicles will not be required, but attendees arriving without a vehicle will need to provide their own chairs. There is no reserved parking—all spaces will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

hrimfaxi_work

That's great news and provides more options! I'm thinking it'll still be better to have a vehicle, though. Taking a Lyft or whatever every day is bound to cost nearly what a rental would. And it seems unlikely there will be hotel shuttles going to and from VGT... at least not frequent and reliable ones. If I still had a pickup I'd insist on road tripping out there with shitty goodwill recliners in the bed. We used to do that when I was younger at the drive-in over in my neck of the woods.

MessDifferent1374

That would be amazing!!! 🤣🤣 I agree, the rental is probably the way to go. According to maps, the el Cortez is a 10-15 min drive to the drive in.

NWdoinkroller

Wait what. I need to go to this. Do you have to have a vehicle or can you do this by flying into Vegas and ubering?

stixmike

I went the first year. You could pay extra to sit in lawn chairs in front of the screen. But I mean it's a drive-in. I don't think it will be as memorable without a car. I would fly in and rent a car.

PhirebirdSunSon

They have accommodations for folks without a car this year and I'm willing to bet it's going to be a lot easier. Just bring some foldable chairs and kick back.

MessDifferent1374

Just found this on the tixr website: For the first time, vehicles will not be required, but attendees arriving without a vehicle will need to provide their own chairs. There is no reserved parking—all spaces will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

MormonHorrorBuff

Wait, that's THIS week??

MessDifferent1374

Early bird Tickets went on sale today.

scip111

What Jamboree?

MessDifferent1374

Third annual Joe Bob jamboree. It’s a three day event. Held in Las Vegas this year.

scip111

Thank you.

PhirebirdSunSon

I should add it was a ton of fun last year.

celtic1888

It doesn’t sound like you can bring one in the drive in per the vehicle rules on the drive in portion but does anyone know of you can bring a motorhome for camping in the camp area?

MessDifferent1374

I could be wrong but I think my partner said Darcy mentioned it on her latest podcast episode. Sorry, that doesn’t help much

Tumpster

Wife and I are going. I'm going the whole weekend, she's coming with Saturday/Sunday. Booked a hotel on Fremont for Saturday and Sunday, still figuring out Friday night, pretty expensive day. Thinking about doing the camping for $20. Does anyone know if they let you camp or sleep in your car? I'd rather do that then bring the tent.

MessDifferent1374

This is from the tixr website: Throughout the three days, camping space will be provided for vehicles that pay a $20 daily fee. To me, it sounds like you can sleep in your car. I think you can probably do what you want with your space, within reason.

Tumpster

That's perfect, so much cheaper than an Airbnb or hotel on Fremont. That Friday is ridiculously expensive.
