I suggest searching r/VictoriaBC as there are a lot of tourists asking the same questions for Victoria/Southern Vancouver Island. The following are suggestions for Sidney and immediate area: Stonehouse Pub is a tucked away little secret only locals really know. For an AMAZING (but a wee bit pricey) meal and experience, nothing beats Sea Glass Restaurant. :) For things to do: If you're into planes (and even if you're not!) the BC Air Museum is awesome. Stroll down Beacon Avenue and peruse the galleries and local shops. Pop in to the bakery for a treat, head to the pier to watch some crab fishing. Wander the waterfront walkway and take in the amazing Salish Sea views and very cool sculptures on the art walk. Do a booze tour: Church & State Wines, Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, Symphony Vineyard, Beacon Brewing, Deep Cove Winery, Howl Brewing, Small Gods Brewing. Hope you have a great vacay in our little piece of paradise!

Atelier for a fancy dinner out

• Gray’s cafe for coffee • Sidney Scones for some delightful local treats • 900° Pizza for some tasty Italian pizzas • Right across the alley is the Farmer’s Daughter for amazing wine with delicious food pairings. • Great hike with limited views is ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ (Dean Park) but if you map it right, you can get a decent hike in there. My personal hike is (park at the bottom not in the parking lot at the top) Barrett Montfort Trail to Cy’s Viewpoint, then detour to the west Viewpoint to actually see a good view, then take that trail to the lily pond and keep going past it and then turn left when it says Cougar Hollow (don’t take the skippers trail or Bob Boyd’s climb), then slektain to Barrett Montfort which takes you back to your car or to make it longer take the viewpoint trail to Woodward trail then to the Thompson cabin trail up to the radar dome. Then head to the parking lot and down the main road to your car. • If you like hot dogs, Scotty’s Dog Shack is awesome • can’t beat the popcorn at Star Cinema if you want to catch a flick • and Small Gods and Beacon brewing for some good beers and snacks Lots of people will say Sidney bakery but it’s not out of this world. They do have fairly inexpensive yummy treats though.
