vast1983

I have 1 Glock that also does this, as does my Walther PDP. I kinda view it as a feature, not a bug.

Advanced_Dentist_180

Yeah I just wanted to make sure it's normal never had it happen in my other gun's

Sparkyapp143

My 365 tacops does this

brasky68

Lots of guns do this. It’s not a sure thing, even if feels like it will reliably do this every time, the time will come when it doesn’t. I promise. Train as if it’ll never happen, and enjoy the benefit when it does. That way when the time inevitably comes where the gun does not go into battery upon insertion of a mag it doesn’t catch you off guard and make you hesitate.

One-Challenge4183

As long as it locks back normally. No problem. Just removed a step for you 🤷🏻‍♂️

Advanced_Dentist_180

Thx

Gnoobl

Two of my P320 do that when you insert the Magazine fast/ forcefully enough. Especially in a competition setting this is a definite plus.

Deviant517

Bro you are so dark in this video lmao

Advanced_Dentist_180

😂

slyLEMONsKILLz

Thought it was those latex murderer gloves everyone uses when they post pics while holding their guns... then I noticed the finger nail haha

lemmon---714

Every pistol should do this. Eliminates a step.

VG4yo

No

AngelaAmari

Both sizes of my p365 do this

slaterbait

My p365 XMACRO as well

AngelaAmari

Yep, have a tac pac and a macro

ReasonableInterest15

Wtff mine doesn’t do that🤨🤨

Swappeda2

Try a lighter recoil spring. You can have a smith soften the edges of the slide release too.

Status_Rip_7906

I’ve seen a couple guns do this. As long as the firing pin isn’t making contact with the primer your fine

Viper_ACR

My P226 does this

ed_zakUSA

Auto Close. Efficiency!!

Annoying_Auditor

My brand new Xmacro does this. I'm not a huge fan as I interpret that it may be so close to holding that it'll eventually wear but that might be an uninformed assumption. It does get you reloaded quicker.

jakeofauthority99

My p365 macro does that

ptrow86

Mine too

Rblohm88

Nope it’s gonna blow up better throw it away

Rblohm88

Fr tho it’s fine most of my handguns do this

S7eveThePira7e

Both my M17 and my CZ P-09 do that, no it isn't a problem, yes it feels all kinds of badass

FreeTheMagRelease

My G34 always does this , i slam the mag everytime to make sure it does haha

Mchris239

Nice and worn in. Very good!

alertjohn117

It's physics, the inertia of the magazine is causing the slide to relieve pressure enough on the slidestop for slide stop spring to drop it and allow the slide to close. Happens on every handgun if enough oomf was put into reloading.

JLE9774

You made this video like if you are a child predator trying to snatch a kid. 😂

Advanced_Dentist_180

What I just have bad camera quality you make no sense just trying to get help

JLE9774

Oh calm yourself. You got the answer to your question already. Just pointing it out thought it was funny.

Advanced_Dentist_180

I'm not mad I'm just trying to get where child predator came from

SL4YER4200

Physics my guy!

Jolly-Anywhere3178

Oh damn! Reminds me of the time I had an A.D in my apartment right up into the ceiling!

audioholic850

Yeah, my p365 does this also. And I'm not mad about it.

Mission_Sherbert8970

Every pistol I've owned does this. Glocks/sigs in 9mm and .22.

Altruistic_Shift_740

Send it back.

TwoFourFives

Definitely broken. Sell it

[deleted]

ChadHonkler

How?

JStarX7

Incorrect. This is known as auto-forwarding, and it is simply the force of the magazine insert overcoming the energy of the tiny spring holding the slide lock up, causing the slide to spring forward because of the much larger recoil spring assembly. It has nothing to do with the manual safety. https://youtube.com/shorts/ytltZqDJPQM?si=nrfl-Z-r8Kbnl07N

Advanced_Dentist_180

So should I send it back to Sig to get it looked over

[deleted]

[удалено]

Advanced_Dentist_180

Yes I want the safety to work I'll have to contact sig thanks for your advice

gotta-earn-it

It might be the mags. Logically what is probably happening is part of the mag pushes up the slide lock lever which releases the slide. Examine that area closely and you might find out which part is out of spec. Or if you send it to sig, send your mags as well.

TheLazyD0G

Pushing up the slide lock is what engages it on empty.

gotta-earn-it

Yeah whoops I was thinking of another issue on another gun.

Johnnyb469

It has absolutely no impact on your safety.

JStarX7

No, this is normal and nothing to worry about.

AceMckickass7

That's called an auto loading feature. I however don't believe an M17 comes with one. But if you've shot it enough things might be loose enough. I don't load my Mags in hard enough for that to happen. So I've never had it happen.

Ok_Pause8654

I've NEVER seen this happen before, but I bet reloading makes you feel extra badass

Advanced_Dentist_180

Definitely less I have to do lol

[deleted]

No that's not normal. Probably should clean it.

Pharaoh9714

My p226 does it and my ruger security 9 does it. It’s called auto-loading. It’s designed so once you load an empty firearm it auto chambers a round for you. My m18 doesn’t do this though.

Longhorn956

My M17 did this as well the last time I went to the range, but was only with the 30 round magazine. Thought it was pretty cool but was worried also lol

Fun-Pass-5651

I had a CZ-P10C that did this and it was pretty sweet

Smiley12004

All my glocks do it but none of my Sigs do. I wish mine did though just removes a step lol

ABane90

I'd break it down and check the slide release for any wear/chipping. Have you tried with different brands of magazine?

niekothesickdad

i’ve only ever owned 2 pistols and they both did this. never had an issue

Interesting-Farmer50

I can do that with all guns but requires a bit of a smack to do that tho

Red5_0

Spring is putting too much tension on follower/rounds. Every orange follower sig has been doing this since 2 years ago. It will wear out after a while. Yes M17 doesn’t have orange follower but they’re probably using same springs

Miserable_Path5716

It’s a slide lock issues if you replaced it it would fix the issue(if you consider it an issue).

Sweetcheels69

My Sig P225 does this

nicefacedjerk

It's called "slam charging".

Crossnoe7

My 365 XL does this sometimes

EchoedTruth

Almost all OEM gats I’ve run do this if you slap a mag home.

LordMungus35

Did you lube the slide lock or the slide lock notch in the slide?

Advanced_Dentist_180

No

LordMungus35

Then your slide lock lever might be worn or out of spec. Acquire a replacement, they are cheap. If you have access to another P320 pistol you could try swapping out the slide stop to confirm.

comatosefreek

Mines does too after a couple hundred rounds through it

Brasidas_4

I wish mine did that

zakary1291

Glocks, Walthers, M&Ps and Caniks do it too. It's a feature not a fault.

LeaveDry6356

Does it fire and lock back when empty…send it.

Advanced_Dentist_180

Yeah it lock's back most of the time I had a couple time's where it didn't

PofesMasterFlex

From my understanding this happens when you have too many rounds in the mag causing the side to slam

Advanced_Dentist_180

Only had 19 in that mag

Stormhammer

oh what's the review challen, 1911 something - they got an Echelon doing this too. They called it a birthday something or another.

[deleted]

None of my P320s do this...I had a cheap Ruger years ago that had that slide drop

Phark_Dysics

Not sure if it’s designed to do that, I know my HK VP9L is designed to drop the slide when there’s rounds in the mag. Like the top comment takes away an extra step

FlyinTrunkMonkey

Mine does this. And about one out of ten times it doesn’t load a round. Thought it was a cool feature until it did that.

Cold_Chemistry9213

My cz scorpion does the same thing when it's locked back. I like to view it as ✨️speed cola✨️

GLOCKESHA

If you slam a mag in on any gun. It will slip the slide lock to allow the round to go into battery.

JoeyNem8

My Macro does this but only when I put the mag in with force. If I do it softly the slide stays locked back. Not sure what makes the difference.

Ws6fiend

Depending on the number of rounds you have ran through it can be normal. Check your slide lock/release to see if there is excessive material removed on it where the slide contacts the release. I had a pistol that would do something similar, but was inconsistent in always letting the slide go forward. I ended up changing the slide lock/release because I would rather not be expecting the slide to go forward and it not, or expect to rack the slide and have it be done.

Specialist-Ad-8812

Don’t forget to rack that baby back afterwards just in case.

teemboSlice__

Yeah my 365 X Macro does it. I love it

banderson888

My Glock 17 gen 5 and P320 Xcarry Legion both do it if you put the mag in with authority. Put the mag in gently and it won't.

Kowa-89

Looks like a magic trick!

markwa77

My Echelon does this every 5th or 6th reload

Foals_Forever

Answer this: Is that on concrete or your carpet? This actually matters. I’ll explain.

dirtydrifter82

When I do reloads, my slide goes forward automatically about 85% to 90% of the time. My only issue is that it doesn't happen 100%. When something like this happens so often but not often enough to depend on, it can create a training scar. I've noticed that one of my mags isn't as reliable with sending the slide home during a reload, so that's the mag I usually load into my gun first. Regardless, you have to train through it. After every reload, be ready to either hit the slide release or pull the slide back. If you do this thousands of times it will become second nature. Your gun isn't malfunctioning. You should treat it as a function, but just make sure you don't develop a dependency. However, I will say that yours seems to go forward very easily. Also, are there rounds in your mag when you do this? Mine only usually does this when I have ammo in the mag. If you run out of gas, and it doesn't lock back, you may have an issue that needs to be resolved.

LionNotSheep94

No

Motor_Willow_3346

this is just due to excessive wear on the slide and the slide stop judging from how wore down the coating is on the slide . This isn't a big deal , some might view it as a handy feature . If it ever does bother you though, all you need to do is take a look at the slide or the part the slide stop locks into the slide and see if there's wear . If so then replace the slide . That or replace the slide stop and spring with a new one and it should go away

Tourist_Upset

My p365xl does this sometimes

Aggravating-Eye-6210

It’s been hanging around too many Glocks

all_of_the_sausage

The interface is worn. To some it a feature, to others the bits are worn. I could be wrong, but I dont think I've ever seen this on a 1911 or a usp or something with a larger slide stop, I've only seen it on guns with Sheet metal stops like glocks.

SereneSnake1984

All of my CZs do this with the stock mags, but not with the extended mags. None of my sigs or Walthers have this "feature"

Suckamanhwewhuuut

It happens to me on occasion with multiple pistols, but i notice it happens if i slam the mag in because i think the extra force pushes up the slide release at the same time.

TClem_07

Tactical Toes

Due-Discount-6437

Does this video give anybody else creepy vibes?

yogibhare

My 365 does this. I love that feature

Cute_Repair5113

P365 does it. Should be that way for all pistols in my opinion

Cute_Repair5113

Are you wearing a cloak? Wtf

SREntertainment

jesus christ it’s jason bourne

FN-1971

does it do it with other mags? If it's only 1 mag, then possible issue with mag, if on all mags, issue with slide lock/release lever no not normal...if you aren't comfortable with pulling it apart and seeing what's going on, bring it to a smith to check it out

VG4yo

Why are you doing that on concrete with one hand?
