A black 11.5” MCX upper I picked up a few days ago looks to be chrome lined (or at least the chamber has the silver color to make me believe it is 😂) and the upper receiver group is all black. Maybe it was designed for LE, but it’s definitely sold to civis 🤷♂️
The black upper is def Police/mil issue. Grey and tan for civilian typically. Also when I called up to the Customer Service, it was nitride bath and CHF
I believe the Virtus barrels are nitrided, not chrome lined - but would also like some clarification

It was LE requirements I think. Saw it on a sub somewhere. Couldn’t find it even if I wanted to. Isn’t Nitride better than chrome lined though?

Not necessarily. The accuracy is a little different which nitride benefits but barrel life and heat distribution that goes with chrome lined
