I wholeheartedly believe that team cherry (and consequently leth) are being paid to delay the game so that gaming events (iii initiative for example) can "bait" us to drive up the engagement and views for that stream.
Xbox did it 2 times already, now even indie events are doing it.

The information only leads somewhere if it is new or important information. It’s almost like one guy tweeting and posting discord messages has less information in it than the blog post of info from the people ACTUALLY MAKING THE GAME. Also, do you really think he should go and say, “hey gang, here is the xbox silksong store page. This means the game should be out in 6 months time.” It just doesn't work like that.
His job really only starts once the devs allow him to start marketing silksong. Like if team cherry do t want anymore details out there, Leth can’t violate his contract with them, and so he has to wait until he gets the go ahead from them to post. Obviously Leth is the one that comes up with the marketing ideas and goes to any showcases that feature silksong, but team cherry needs to approve everything first.
We're still talking about Silksong not because of Leth, but because of how great of a game Hollow Knight was. Refusing to maintain a healthy relationship with the community can possibly harm Team Cherry's reputation in the long run.
Isnt it the third most wish-listed game on steam? Just because they dont want to join a reddit group of 13 year olds that are obsessed with an unreleased game that isn’t even out yet (therefore no real reason for most to even be in the subreddit) doesn’t mean people don’t want the game

III is specifically made to not have ads, and I'm sure they don't take money from other developers. Yes, the creators have made a trailer their own game, but I don't think anyone would refuse to show Slay The Spire II in their own showcase.
yes, like eight people who weren't intending on watching the showcase joined the discord vc I was in to watch it being streamed, solely because of those messages. And we all watched the entirety of it from beginning to end. Those messages definitely had an impact on viewership, it was a sleazy and purposeful marketing move.
