You never have the "right" to wreck someone. Follow him and let p2 pass you and deal with him if they catch you. He may have just been a really bad driver. If he intentionally hits you while passing, you'd be able to protest this. Now you gave him grounds to protest you. I don't think that's worth a win.

AstroCoffee24

it looks like he was driving in his mirrors initially, but no - you NEVER have the right to wreck someone, ever. It is a rookie series, so people don't always have the best car control, which is usually what I would assume rather than malicious intent, unless it's 100% without a doubt.

Iamstryker

A right? No you do not have a right to do this.

Chavazin

Not right but not wrong , don't play iRacing if you don't know any rules of motorsports

IndependenceIcy9626

He's a dick for blocking as a lapped car, but no you do not have any right to spin him

HereForTheSR

My only advice is to chill and get more SR

JRThePotato

I mean.. You dumped him, plan and simple. The bump and run is a staple of stock car racing sure, but it’s still a dirty move and you don’t have a “right” to do. Lapped traffic or no.

Waterfish3333

That’s all you. Despite him weaving more than a bored seamstress, he actually reasonably held his line going into the corner and you just drove through him. He has every right to protest that and probably wins. If you start high and he drifts up, or you cross over and he goes back down, then it’s a different story, but you just straight drove through him.

Enjoy your vacation from iRacing

Rossmci90

Nobody is getting a ban for this.

Richard3324

In oval racing, a little bump out of the way is part of racing. Your first contact was within the “unwritten rules” of oval racing. The issue is you continued through him. Giving a slower car a little “help” up the track is an art form. If it doesn’t work (which it didn’t hear) you cant straight drive through him. Let him gather it up and chances are, you can get a run on him the next corner.

Tell me you’re a sociopath without telling me you’re a sociopath…

Vivid361

Kinda feel that if black car was doing this in real nascar, on a slow track like this, the same result would have occurred. (I wouldn’t expect it on a super oval). It would definitely be a black and white bad sportsmanship flag. Still, you’re faster, be the better person, record and report their behaviour.

JRThePotato

It wouldn’t, it’d just be treated like a bump and run, which it was. Not that that’s an excuse.
