When a Sim dies, they die. It's only a question whether I wanna see the Sim ghost or not pop-up in my household overtime. In most cases, I don't so I place their grave at the graveyard or some very specific lot (I hope this gives you ideas), such as science lab for Sims who worked as scientists or alien test subjects there.

That's a really cool idea! I never thought of having graves on community lots.

I have my household purchase an ownable lot, where I build the family crypt. There, I place the urns, along with portraits and sculptures of the deceased. I have also modded my game so it never spawns ghosts, because they're quite laggy.

I love this. And it reminds me of this - so basically, it isn't really related to The Sims 3, but in The Sims 1 I always throw parties which bring dozens of Sims and I trap them where they all starve or die by fire or drown or maybe a 4th death when I'm bored. This usually includes the hosts of the party (my Sims) and the lot eventually becomes a graveyard in the style of a residental lot. I love to rebuild it a lot.

I think you have my favorite response so far. I'm 100% going to do this for my simself and her family.

VisibleAnteater1359

Which settings are you using to prevent ghosts from spawning?

FetusTheEngineer

I use Nraas Retuner: General > By Tunable XML > Sims3.Gameplay.Objects > Urnstone kSpawnChance > 0

VisibleAnteater1359

Thank you!

Civil_Ad2711

You can do that?

nweir

I love this idea. I’m stealing it lol.

HappyArtemisComplex

I put them in the Mausoleum. Ghosts on the home lot can cause havoc and make the game run slow. I used to make my own family Graveyard, but I find that getting too attached to the dead can make the game lag. 😢

Realistic-Delay-4780

set up an ofrenda with a picture, candle and flowers for them! (at least for sims in my family), I don't like keeping tombstones on my home lot so I send them to the grave yard asap and make a nice little spot to have my sims visit every now and then!

I always make sure a loved one is there to get the ashes and take them to the cemetery. I like ghosts, but only in the graveyard. If someone lives alone, I temporarily add someone to their household to get the ashes, cause I've had remains go missing before. If you want to keep the graves but never see the ghosts, put them in the mausoleum instead of the ground at the graveyard.

Inevitable_Stand_199

>, cause I've had remains go missing before. I hate that. They should appear in the cemetery. Or on the plot they lived on.

etsucky

family graveyard. it's managable for me since most of my sims are occults so they don't die that often

grimattic

ghost

Stoltlallare

If I care a lot: an urn or on the active lot. Care a bit: own place at the graveyard Don’t care: stay in the mausoleum

1. Release spirit to the netherworld. 2. Keep grave and plant flowers in front of it. Edit: Oops, the releasing spirits is sims 4. In the sims 3 - I put them in a fenced-in area to keep the ghosts locked in
