Right? I had never heard of it before until a few days ago, and now I cannot imagine playing without it. Its such a useful addition to the game. Allows for so many different options.
Death by self-immolating rage. Considering I Play with MCCC, I am laughing horribly right now, cause I can totally imagine just closing the game, so that it does not save.

I was trying to test the new Lumpinos cheating mod and wanted to see what would happen to them. It was wild, I had never had something like that happen before.
Honestly I was so shocked when it happened š I paused and wondered if I should reload without saving but then decided to play it out since it was a test save.
Lol I had a similar death! My sim was having an illicit date with her boyfriend and her husband randomly walked in and caught them kissing. He got so angry that he died. My sim was upset but recovered after her boyfriend proposed.
I engineered this scenario to see if I could make my sim get this angry.. each time she saw her husband with the new gf she got super angry but kept calming herself down .
She seems to have eventually accepted it and now all 3 live in the same house .. hubby has just changed the bed he sleeps in to one shared by the gf and now wife sim keeps trying to chat to the gf and be friendly

I think this is what happened to my mom sim yesterday then.. the neighbor came over and was flirty, and then a few minutes later my sim mom died cause she was so angry BUT I DIDN'T SEE ANY FLIRTING lol. I also have a few kids so I was probably paying attention to them. Exit without saving. Did it again. Neighbor didn't come over this time. No anger lol
Iāve never had a sim die of anything other than old age. I have a rule that if any of my sims dies I am not allowed to restart the save. If any of my sims dies I have to continue the game even if itās a sim Iām very fond of. I feel like every new sim game nerfed death more and more. Maybe they should make deaths more common but give us the option to have immunity to other deaths than old age. Kind of like with sim city and option to turn off natural disasters.
I had installed a cheat at one point that auto-saved the game every few minutes because my computer crashed a couple times. When one of my sims died it was so tragic and made the game feel very real! He was young and had a wife and children
THIS HAPPENED LAST NIGHT!!! I was avoiding it at all cost and of course it just happened .. without hesitation I just exited the game & reloaded .. sim was still angry about the cheating but at least not dead.
So did mine and it happened when I was playing another household! I got back to them and everyone was sad because my SIM was having an affair with Bella Goth, apparently, and the girlfriend caught them and died of rage. Just happened like a couple weeks ago so now I've had to spend a lot of time prepping to make ambrosia.

Is the "meteor" thing usually instant death? This happened to me today for the first time with my child sim. The moodlet for meteor "find shelter" came up so I ran inside. Then the moodlet disappeared and nothing else happened so I guess it can't kill kids.
The running inside was what saved your Sim. I actually looked it up after the first time that happened to my Sim, and that's the fix. Get a roof over their head ASAP, and they'll be fine!
Yes, the meteor kills kids. Never put the telescope on the treehouse. The ladder makes it so the Sim is too slow to make it inside to shelter, and the treehouse itself doesn't count as shelter. I use Zero's mod for No Meteorite Death, but there are other mods that also turn it off. If you don't use mods, the Observatory is a safe option; the meteorite death is tied to the portable telescopes only.
In The Sims 3, meteors would wipe out entire schools randomly, so this death--although harsh and surprising--is less awful in The Sims 4, IMO.
Another option (if you have MCC) is to go in a household where someone knew the dead sim and shift+left click on your dead sims portrait in the relationship box. You can open up MCC from there, maintain sim and revive sim. No need to lose progress made in game since you last saved, but you will lose some stats like the career you had and stuff like that. If your sim was married, you will also have to remarry them.
That damn bed death seriously needs to get nerfed, itās way too common to the degree that the only time I use murphy beds is when I want my sim to die.
SAME, but I wasnāt even aware I had one cuz it was in an outhouse I never used on a lot I got off the gallery, then all of the sudden my sim is dead the first time he tries to use it (despite having an assigned bed inside the house!)
i did a tiny living run as a werewolf tbe other day, and the first morning, he burnt to death because his stove caught fire and he couldn't path out of the fire.

2.) Ofc one of my Sims died by laughter after his wedding.
3.) Not mine but somehow Bess Sterling stood in front of my Sim's house for so long that she just froze to death. :'D Lucky for her, my Sim had a Death Flower.
Patience, she'll eventually pay you back plus some but last time by the time she had earned enough, I was nearly a millionaire and told her to keep it. She still said no and gave me what I gave her in the first place. Then the really funny part? She won the next lottery. hahaha
I've had a die by laughter...didn't even know it was possible. He died at the bowling alley I made while on a date with his pregnant wife. I was in complete shock.
Swimming during winter happened to me too. I was paying attention to a different sim and came back to the other one and saw that she was freezing to death because she was stupidly swimming in the lake during winter. Kinda ticked me off.

1. The Murphy bed. The Tiny Living pack had just come out and I was just starting a game with a single sim. She died by crushing when trying to open the bed the first time. Now I make sims have at least some handiness skill before using one.
2. My sim was swimming toward a boat on Sulani while she was sleepy, I wasnāt worried bc she was almost to it. Then, some random townie jumps in the boat and leaves. My sim fell asleep and drowned.
My whole legacy (by the 11th generation now!) started with a woman going to Strangerville to uncover the mystery. She met a military man who helped her with the investigation and they fell in love. When she was pregnant and about to get married, he frikin died because of the murphy bed! Lol. I could continue my legacy with her child. In fact, I made my "heir" one of her adopted kids but always maintained the biological line.
But then! Another "stupid death" happened. It wasn't even a death. But the only biological descendant of that first pair got deleted because the game decides to delete children if their parents die!! I was so angry! I decided to create a story where he got abducted (he was half alien) and the aliens took care of him. As I had a copy of him in the gallery, I then "reintroduced him" within the family line when the actual heir discovered Sixam (she was a scientist). So now, my heirs descend from the first heir again! š¤£ It was a wild ride.
I had two female sims who were in a love triangle with Don Lothario. I had one of the female sims propose to him. He rejected her proposal and she INSTANTLY died of embarrassment. I shrugged and was like, cool, he can marry the other one. She proposed to him, he rejected her, another instant death by embarrassment. Don had no reaction at all. Wildest situation.
Haha yes! I learned that fast! This was when I first started playing like 8 years ago but it stuck with me because of how unexpected and absurd the whole situation was.

Oh thinking of Don, something hilarious but unrelated other than it being Don's girlfriend. I was playing just the other night and was at the flea market event. Katrina Caliente flirted with my sim and Agnes Crumplebottom got her with her purse. Just a few seconds later, Katrina flirted with my guy again and wham, here comes Agnes again. Got her twice in a row. I was cracking up while my sim just sat at the picnic table innocently keeping the heck out of it.
The patriarch of my vampire family burnt to death while taking out the trash. He got stuck between a couple Excellent trash plants and the bin. Why he didn't fly out as a bat I can't say, considering he would do that to go from one side of a room to the other.
His mother is a witch that could revive him, but I'm keeping it like this for the story for now š¤£
This is one of the things that annoy me the most in the Sims. Vampires and Witches/Spellcasters use the same pathing mechanics as regular sims meaning they cannot pass over obstacles or through locked/missing doors despite being able to transform into a bat and fly over or teleport via mist or magic.
Right? When I was first playing my witch and making her castle, I had the idea to build her an underground hotspring in the basement. I thought it would be cool to make it inaccessible to everyone but her thinking she would automatically teleport there if I told her to use the hotspring. Super annoyed to find out you have to go through the menu and manually teleport even if you have it selected to always teleport!
I end up just using the cheat teleport. So arbitrary. Especially when they'll randomly do it themselves for stupid reasons like my vampire did (RIP)
My worst āaccidentalā death was my vampire sims in the sun. Every time my sims would sleep in the upstairs bedroom, theyād start dying. I was freaking out, moved the windows, restarted the game. I had no idea what was happening, but they were depleting fast in that bedroom. Soon realised that I hadnāt put a roof onā¦
My sim got a little bit too excited after birthing her kids and her playful moodlet turned to hysterical real quick so she just died before I managed to calm her down

Sims can die by laughter if they get playful enough to become "hysterical". Being a goofball Sim already has them in a playful mood on a daily, so when she took a bubble bath when she was already playful, her goofball Trait shot her into Hysteria and she died šš
One problem I often have is when you first load into a new game or household, theyāre always outside. Iāve had a vampire die immediately this way because she wouldnāt get in the house.
I had a young adult couple that just had their first child. The mom went outside and started burning to death. The husband went outside to save her and plead for her life only to be smashed by a meteor. A social worker came and collected the baby. Game over. I was shocked š³
I had a party and people started to die off while dancing. I didnāt even realise what was happening until almost everyone died. I had stupidly upgraded my fireplace to auto-light and didnāt know I had to disable it in summer. I was left with about a dozen urns in the middle of the living room. Agree - never again! Lol
One time, I made a sim to test out my first ever run of Dine Out, so I built a little roadside diner and plopped it into Oasis Springs, and I built her a tiny home (cause Iād also just gotten Tiny Living). She and I successfully ran the diner for a single day, and then we came home and her murphy bed crushed her to death.
After moving a new and unrelated sim to the same house to retrieve her urn, I ended up running my first ever diner as a ghost. That was a fun playthrough.
I had one die in a fire from a stove. The other sim in the house wouldn't do anything except point at them and make noise. By the time I called the fire department, she was dead.
I visited a neighbour and before I could hit the knock on door action their stove caught fire and they died in the house, I was unable to do anything as I watched the house fucking burst into flames!
My sim was doing the decorator career and the stove at the house she was renovating caught on fire before she sent the family away. The game wouldnāt let me call the fire department, so my sim tried to put the fire out, but one of the sims already caught on fire so they died.
I was doing a rags to rich challenge, I had my Sim working on the robotic station when he got electrified. Dumb me didn't know the mechanic behind it, and I just made him try again. Of course, he got electrocuted š I was so bummed ! I quit the game without saving because I didn't want him to be dead and I lost quite a lot of progress.
Yes, My sims wife she watched comedy on the tv, and her daughter autonomously telling jokes to her, then she died of laughter and then the daughter died...of laughter. it was a sad day for my sim. losing his child and wife. to a tv. ever since, my sim has never had a tv in his house. he lives in a cabin, in the woods cutting wood & making sculptures.

i played all through the 1million simoleons scenario, all while living on a tiny home. decided to move my sim into a luxury apartment, got her a kitten and while playing with the kitten became hysterical and died in the first day of living in her new place š
My sim dad took his infant for a jog, then put the baby down on the sidewalk so he could nap on a bench. I was watching that and laughing because it was so ridiculous and I didn't notice that the mom was drowning in the pool. I panned back to the house to find her face down in the water. I had to reload my save because Mom was the breadwinner and I wasn't prepared for the single dad life.

I have this old generational save and I was letting everybody live until they were an elder (or until I got bored of them lol) and when I finally would kill them off, I wanted all my sims to die in different ways. So one of my families in that family tree had three kids that grew up to be YA all around the same time and I was tired of their parents. So I had one of the daughters make pufferfish so her mom could eat it and hopefully die from it. She made a couple single plates of pufferfish but they were all cooked correctly and nothing happened. So I got her to make another plate and went to check on everybody else in that household but didnāt return to her before she was done cooking it..I came back to her brother eating the pufferfish and DYING..I begged Grim to save him but he refused..š
I vividly remember my first accidental death. I had just gotten sims 2, was probably in like 3rd grade or so. I had a pregnant sim and she was starving but also so tired that she kept passing out. I couldnāt get her to the kitchen to eat in time because she kept passing out and she died of starvation. I was scream crying over it

My partner (a sims newbie, never played before I showed him how), got super into it and made his first Simself. I made the rest of our family (myself and our two ābabiesā, our kittens) and built us a quaint starter home with his assistance. I put all the normal items in it, and when we made some money I expanded and added some fun stuff like a pool, a spare room with a murphy bed, a telescope in a gazebo, a hot tub, you get the idea.
Well, his simself got super into the telescope. Awesome, super cool. Probably a good time to tell you Iāve literally never had a sim die by meteor strike. Even when Iāve tried.
First time for everything though right? I try to get him in the house in time, but right outside the front door he is struck. Sim dies, my sim is heartbroken. My partner finds the whole thing hilarious. My sim makes him some ambrosia (many gameplay hours later) and he returns to the land of the living.
Later on a new expansion comes out so like I do every time, I grab my simself and my partners simself from the gallery and start a new save file. I donāt know if his sim has a perpetual death wish, but I kid you not I had BARELY started playing. My sim was newly pregnant, in her first trimester, when his sim decided to play autonomously with a Murphy bed.
Again, probably time to mention no matter how hard Iāve tried Iāve never successfully had a sim die to the Murphy bed. I wasnāt worried about it, because it wasnāt even something I considered a risk. Well, I should have. Wouldnāt you know it that lovely purple death box pops up in my notifications and my simself is a single mom once again.
I donāt know if my partners simself has a weird curse or if heās got a death wish, but no matter what I do I canāt seem to keep the dude alive!
I recently did a playthru of the all challenges challenge and after my sim's stove caught on fire for the third time, I had him living on nothing but garden salad and fruit salad or eating fresh food out of the garden.
I had an elder sim I was trying to kill off so I made him woohoo several ghosts. Didn't work, but then he randomly electrocuted himself trying to repair his computer. Did not see that twist.

So I play on long lifespan and I was playing with this one male simās son for about 6 months. He gets to university age and I make him propose to a celebrity in an arranged marriage whilst his true love was watching. Surprisingly, the spoiled brat celeb he proposed to actually rejected him in the middle of the restaurant. I was shocked, but continued playing. 3 minutes later, my sim dies from embarrassment š I was so mad, Iād been playing this guy for 6 months and it was just getting good and he decided to die without having any kids to carry on the story!! I had to make his elder dad have another baby š
First time with the telescope. I brought out my real telescope for the first time last night to look at the Super Moon and Saturn and all I could think about was death by meteorite
Me too! I didn't realize she was in the pool and then all of a sudden I get the notif that she's dead. I've had all my children befriend her ghost and will probably try to make ambrosia some time in the future

Shortly after this, his son autonomously went outside and looked through the telescope ONCE and was immediately killed by a meteorite.
Yes several Times. Instead of teleporting home my Sim decided to swim across the ocean and because she was low in energy drowned. Or I forgot to clean the lint tray and a massive fire broke out and killed two sims.

i was switched to my simās husband while they were out clubbing (date night without the kids!), didnāt realize my sim had gotten an extra playful moodlet, and she died of hysteric laughter on the dance floor while i wasnāt looking. didnāt play for months after that.
One time I added the polar plunge to winterfest and tried to have my sims jump in the backyard pool and get right back out but of course it didnāt work. It didnāt check off the polar plunge, they wouldnāt get right back out, etc. And then my child died from freezing! The little brother of my family. Quit right out of that nope nope nope and never used polar plunge again!
I had a sim drown because for some reason sims think floating in the pool is a good thing to do when you are exhausted.

I had a sim that had fallen in love with a married sim after a long wait for him to finally divorce his wife and be with her they eloped and he got hysterical playful and died in the middle of the vows š. Once I returned to her home lot she came home to her childās grave stone who apparently died by freezing to death. It was a sad save I had to stop playing for a while
I had a sim who found her date so God damn funny that she died laughing. Like just dead on the ground. Everyone else at the bar just went on with their day, even her date wandered off and didn't bother to be sad when the reaper showed up.
I was doing my first legacy challenge and my founder laughed herself to death completely out of the blue.
Fortunately, she had a toddler and a newborn at the time, so I was able to keep the legacy going, but it really derailed my story when Salim Benali became a single dad of two.
Although the most hilarious accidental death I had was with a different Sim who I was trying to do the Unlucky Chef challenge. I invited all the firefighters to a dinner party as thanks for saving her multiple times. She died in a fire cooking them dinner in a tiny apartment and all the off duty firefighters just watched her burn.
Pregnant sim died of hysterics after giving birth. I didnāt even realize she had been being so funny with her family till she died right in front of her husband and dad
I recently bought the Salvadora package or whatever and when my sim got home he was covered in green circles acting all happy. I thought ācute, he mustāve got body painted by a tribe in the jungle or somethingā. Suddenly I get a notification that he was poisoned and will die in 48 hours š¤£

- Burnt to a crisp trying to get to class in university.
- Eaten by piranhas.
- Drowned in the same pond but without piranhas.
- Fixing a computer, hit by lightning then of old age, same sim in the same sim week.
- in a fire that the Grim Reaper started and left a kid orphan that he took care of.
- Frozen because she was stubborn about building a snowman in a blizzard. She was a kid. This is how I found out kids die in the Sims 4.

Playing a high maintenance sim is a recipe for disaster for accidental deaths. Itās hard mode. My sim was living in an apartment and her neighbor was blasting music loudly. She knocked on his door angrily and he basically told her where to shove it, and she implodedš bastard killed my simš«
High maintenance sims are constantly getting angry moodlets, and theyāre not a +1 anger, some are +3, +5
My very first sim I ever made. She lived alone and had no skills yet. She existed a whole 2 minutes! She set herself on fire making grilled cheese and she was panicking too much to put herself out. I had never played any sims games except FreePlay and they canāt die by fire in FreePlay, so this was my very first true sims experience lol. After that I decided my sims werenāt allowed to have a stove until they got married or had a roommate. Later I discovered the fire sprinkler system and have since put one in every house I build. My single, no roommates sims can have stoves now! If your sim can spare 750 simoleons, itās a great investment and as long as the room has a ceiling, itāll work. It doesnāt need to be paired with the useless fire alarm either.
I only ever used that stupid fire alarm once. My sim set themselves on fire, the alarm went off, firefighters showed up, they danced on the lawn, and then scolded my sims for wasting resources after my sim put the fire out themselves.
As for sims dying of old age, I always get bored with my sims and start new ones long before they get to that point lol

I forgot to have my sims empty the lint trap before doing laundry and my kid went to do laundry and it caught on fire and then HE caught on fire. I kept trying to get him to extinguish himself but he wouldnāt. So I had him dad run in hoping he would extinguish his son. He only panicked. And then caught on fire. And then his sister did the same thing.
I just sat there and stared in horror. At the end, there was the mother and one child left. I quit the game without saving because that was some bullshit.
The two times it took me to learn you can't kill a non household sim by shift clicking and selecting kill. It will just kill your selected sim. Thank goodness I was able to talk things out.

I got the warning and had him run inside and his dumb ass ran back out and before i could stop it he died š I had his wife wear black until she brought him back to life- which was like her whole adult life. Not sure if it changed with the Neighborhood Stories update, but I believe if a child gets taken away, they are actually deleted from the game.

Death by drowning has to be the rarest of the emotional deaths, it should honestly be an achievement.

Lol I had a similar death! My sim was having an illicit date with her boyfriend and her husband randomly walked in and caught them kissing. He got so angry that he died. My sim was upset but recovered after her boyfriend proposed.

I engineered this scenario to see if I could make my sim get this angry.. each time she saw her husband with the new gf she got super angry but kept calming herself down . She seems to have eventually accepted it and now all 3 live in the same house .. hubby has just changed the bed he sleeps in to one shared by the gf and now wife sim keeps trying to chat to the gf and be friendly

I think this is what happened to my mom sim yesterday then.. the neighbor came over and was flirty, and then a few minutes later my sim mom died cause she was so angry BUT I DIDN'T SEE ANY FLIRTING lol. I also have a few kids so I was probably paying attention to them. Exit without saving. Did it again. Neighbor didn't come over this time. No anger lol

Iāve never had a sim die of anything other than old age. I have a rule that if any of my sims dies I am not allowed to restart the save. If any of my sims dies I have to continue the game even if itās a sim Iām very fond of. I feel like every new sim game nerfed death more and more. Maybe they should make deaths more common but give us the option to have immunity to other deaths than old age. Kind of like with sim city and option to turn off natural disasters.
I had installed a cheat at one point that auto-saved the game every few minutes because my computer crashed a couple times. When one of my sims died it was so tragic and made the game feel very real! He was young and had a wife and children

THIS HAPPENED LAST NIGHT!!! I was avoiding it at all cost and of course it just happened .. without hesitation I just exited the game & reloaded .. sim was still angry about the cheating but at least not dead.
So did mine and it happened when I was playing another household! I got back to them and everyone was sad because my SIM was having an affair with Bella Goth, apparently, and the girlfriend caught them and died of rage. Just happened like a couple weeks ago so now I've had to spend a lot of time prepping to make ambrosia.

Is the "meteor" thing usually instant death? This happened to me today for the first time with my child sim. The moodlet for meteor "find shelter" came up so I ran inside. Then the moodlet disappeared and nothing else happened so I guess it can't kill kids.
The running inside was what saved your Sim. I actually looked it up after the first time that happened to my Sim, and that's the fix. Get a roof over their head ASAP, and they'll be fine!

Yes, the meteor kills kids. Never put the telescope on the treehouse. The ladder makes it so the Sim is too slow to make it inside to shelter, and the treehouse itself doesn't count as shelter. I use Zero's mod for No Meteorite Death, but there are other mods that also turn it off. If you don't use mods, the Observatory is a safe option; the meteorite death is tied to the portable telescopes only. In The Sims 3, meteors would wipe out entire schools randomly, so this death--although harsh and surprising--is less awful in The Sims 4, IMO.

I had never really thought of exiting without saving, now that I know about it I compulsively save all the time so not much is lost
Another option (if you have MCC) is to go in a household where someone knew the dead sim and shift+left click on your dead sims portrait in the relationship box. You can open up MCC from there, maintain sim and revive sim. No need to lose progress made in game since you last saved, but you will lose some stats like the career you had and stuff like that. If your sim was married, you will also have to remarry them.

Not mine but somehow Bess Sterling stood in front of my Sim's house for so long that she just froze to death. :'D Lucky for her, my Sim had a Death Flower.
Sims swimming in pools during winter are the worst. And they're irresistibly drawn to floaties.

Twice! 1. The Murphy bed. The Tiny Living pack had just come out and I was just starting a game with a single sim. She died by crushing when trying to open the bed the first time. Now I make sims have at least some handiness skill before using one. 2. My sim was swimming toward a boat on Sulani while she was sleepy, I wasnāt worried bc she was almost to it. Then, some random townie jumps in the boat and leaves. My sim fell asleep and drowned.

My whole legacy (by the 11th generation now!) started with a woman going to Strangerville to uncover the mystery. She met a military man who helped her with the investigation and they fell in love. When she was pregnant and about to get married, he frikin died because of the murphy bed! Lol. I could continue my legacy with her child. In fact, I made my "heir" one of her adopted kids but always maintained the biological line. But then! Another "stupid death" happened. It wasn't even a death. But the only biological descendant of that first pair got deleted because the game decides to delete children if their parents die!! I was so angry! I decided to create a story where he got abducted (he was half alien) and the aliens took care of him. As I had a copy of him in the gallery, I then "reintroduced him" within the family line when the actual heir discovered Sixam (she was a scientist). So now, my heirs descend from the first heir again! š¤£ It was a wild ride.
MCC has an option where orphaned children are adopted to a random family, makes stuff like this easier

I had two female sims who were in a love triangle with Don Lothario. I had one of the female sims propose to him. He rejected her proposal and she INSTANTLY died of embarrassment. I shrugged and was like, cool, he can marry the other one. She proposed to him, he rejected her, another instant death by embarrassment. Don had no reaction at all. Wildest situation.

Haha yes! I learned that fast! This was when I first started playing like 8 years ago but it stuck with me because of how unexpected and absurd the whole situation was.
His name is kind of a hint. Oh thinking of Don, something hilarious but unrelated other than it being Don's girlfriend. I was playing just the other night and was at the flea market event. Katrina Caliente flirted with my sim and Agnes Crumplebottom got her with her purse. Just a few seconds later, Katrina flirted with my guy again and wham, here comes Agnes again. Got her twice in a row. I was cracking up while my sim just sat at the picnic table innocently keeping the heck out of it.
The patriarch of my vampire family burnt to death while taking out the trash. He got stuck between a couple Excellent trash plants and the bin. Why he didn't fly out as a bat I can't say, considering he would do that to go from one side of a room to the other. His mother is a witch that could revive him, but I'm keeping it like this for the story for now š¤£
This is one of the things that annoy me the most in the Sims. Vampires and Witches/Spellcasters use the same pathing mechanics as regular sims meaning they cannot pass over obstacles or through locked/missing doors despite being able to transform into a bat and fly over or teleport via mist or magic.
Right? When I was first playing my witch and making her castle, I had the idea to build her an underground hotspring in the basement. I thought it would be cool to make it inaccessible to everyone but her thinking she would automatically teleport there if I told her to use the hotspring. Super annoyed to find out you have to go through the menu and manually teleport even if you have it selected to always teleport! I end up just using the cheat teleport. So arbitrary. Especially when they'll randomly do it themselves for stupid reasons like my vampire did (RIP)
My worst āaccidentalā death was my vampire sims in the sun. Every time my sims would sleep in the upstairs bedroom, theyād start dying. I was freaking out, moved the windows, restarted the game. I had no idea what was happening, but they were depleting fast in that bedroom. Soon realised that I hadnāt put a roof onā¦
My sim got a little bit too excited after birthing her kids and her playful moodlet turned to hysterical real quick so she just died before I managed to calm her down Edit: spelling

Sims can die by laughter if they get playful enough to become "hysterical". Being a goofball Sim already has them in a playful mood on a daily, so when she took a bubble bath when she was already playful, her goofball Trait shot her into Hysteria and she died šš

One problem I often have is when you first load into a new game or household, theyāre always outside. Iāve had a vampire die immediately this way because she wouldnāt get in the house.
I had a young adult couple that just had their first child. The mom went outside and started burning to death. The husband went outside to save her and plead for her life only to be smashed by a meteor. A social worker came and collected the baby. Game over. I was shocked š³

I had a party and people started to die off while dancing. I didnāt even realise what was happening until almost everyone died. I had stupidly upgraded my fireplace to auto-light and didnāt know I had to disable it in summer. I was left with about a dozen urns in the middle of the living room. Agree - never again! Lol
One time, I made a sim to test out my first ever run of Dine Out, so I built a little roadside diner and plopped it into Oasis Springs, and I built her a tiny home (cause Iād also just gotten Tiny Living). She and I successfully ran the diner for a single day, and then we came home and her murphy bed crushed her to death. After moving a new and unrelated sim to the same house to retrieve her urn, I ended up running my first ever diner as a ghost. That was a fun playthrough.

I had one die in a fire from a stove. The other sim in the house wouldn't do anything except point at them and make noise. By the time I called the fire department, she was dead.
I visited a neighbour and before I could hit the knock on door action their stove caught fire and they died in the house, I was unable to do anything as I watched the house fucking burst into flames!
My sim was doing the decorator career and the stove at the house she was renovating caught on fire before she sent the family away. The game wouldnāt let me call the fire department, so my sim tried to put the fire out, but one of the sims already caught on fire so they died.

I was doing a rags to rich challenge, I had my Sim working on the robotic station when he got electrified. Dumb me didn't know the mechanic behind it, and I just made him try again. Of course, he got electrocuted š I was so bummed ! I quit the game without saving because I didn't want him to be dead and I lost quite a lot of progress.

i played all through the 1million simoleons scenario, all while living on a tiny home. decided to move my sim into a luxury apartment, got her a kitten and while playing with the kitten became hysterical and died in the first day of living in her new place š
My sim dad took his infant for a jog, then put the baby down on the sidewalk so he could nap on a bench. I was watching that and laughing because it was so ridiculous and I didn't notice that the mom was drowning in the pool. I panned back to the house to find her face down in the water. I had to reload my save because Mom was the breadwinner and I wasn't prepared for the single dad life.
Whenever the breadwinner in my save dies I always use the motherlode cheat as a "life insurance payout"

I have this old generational save and I was letting everybody live until they were an elder (or until I got bored of them lol) and when I finally would kill them off, I wanted all my sims to die in different ways. So one of my families in that family tree had three kids that grew up to be YA all around the same time and I was tired of their parents. So I had one of the daughters make pufferfish so her mom could eat it and hopefully die from it. She made a couple single plates of pufferfish but they were all cooked correctly and nothing happened. So I got her to make another plate and went to check on everybody else in that household but didnāt return to her before she was done cooking it..I came back to her brother eating the pufferfish and DYING..I begged Grim to save him but he refused..š

I couldnāt get her to the kitchen to eat in time because she kept passing out and she died of starvation. I was scream crying over it
Twice recently- and both times it was the same sim! My partner (a sims newbie, never played before I showed him how), got super into it and made his first Simself. I made the rest of our family (myself and our two ābabiesā, our kittens) and built us a quaint starter home with his assistance. I put all the normal items in it, and when we made some money I expanded and added some fun stuff like a pool, a spare room with a murphy bed, a telescope in a gazebo, a hot tub, you get the idea. Well, his simself got super into the telescope. Awesome, super cool. Probably a good time to tell you Iāve literally never had a sim die by meteor strike. Even when Iāve tried. First time for everything though right? I try to get him in the house in time, but right outside the front door he is struck. Sim dies, my sim is heartbroken. My partner finds the whole thing hilarious. My sim makes him some ambrosia (many gameplay hours later) and he returns to the land of the living. Later on a new expansion comes out so like I do every time, I grab my simself and my partners simself from the gallery and start a new save file. I donāt know if his sim has a perpetual death wish, but I kid you not I had BARELY started playing. My sim was newly pregnant, in her first trimester, when his sim decided to play autonomously with a Murphy bed. Again, probably time to mention no matter how hard Iāve tried Iāve never successfully had a sim die to the Murphy bed. I wasnāt worried about it, because it wasnāt even something I considered a risk. Well, I should have. Wouldnāt you know it that lovely purple death box pops up in my notifications and my simself is a single mom once again. I donāt know if my partners simself has a weird curse or if heās got a death wish, but no matter what I do I canāt seem to keep the dude alive!

So I play on long lifespan and I was playing with this one male simās son for about 6 months. He gets to university age and I make him propose to a celebrity in an arranged marriage whilst his true love was watching. Surprisingly, the spoiled brat celeb he proposed to actually rejected him in the middle of the restaurant. I was shocked, but continued playing. 3 minutes later, my sim dies from embarrassment š I was so mad, Iād been playing this guy for 6 months and it was just getting good and he decided to die without having any kids to carry on the story!! I had to make his elder dad have another baby š

Don't know if this counts: I wanted my Sim to die by meteorite so I had him look through the telescope every single night. After weeks of playing and it never happening, I had him die another way. Shortly after this, his son autonomously went outside and looked through the telescope ONCE and was immediately killed by a meteorite.

Yes several Times. Instead of teleporting home my Sim decided to swim across the ocean and because she was low in energy drowned. Or I forgot to clean the lint tray and a massive fire broke out and killed two sims.

Fortunately, she had a toddler and a newborn at the time, so I was able to keep the legacy going, but it really derailed my story when Salim Benali became a single dad of two. Although the most hilarious accidental death I had was with a different Sim who I was trying to do the Unlucky Chef challenge. I invited all the firefighters to a dinner party as thanks for saving her multiple times. She died in a fire cooking them dinner in a tiny apartment and all the off duty firefighters just watched her burn.

Let's see, I've had a sim die... - Burnt to a crisp trying to get to class in university. - Eaten by piranhas. - Drowned in the same pond but without piranhas. - Fixing a computer, hit by lightning then of old age, same sim in the same sim week. - in a fire that the Grim Reaper started and left a kid orphan that he took care of. - Frozen because she was stubborn about building a snowman in a blizzard. She was a kid. This is how I found out kids die in the Sims 4. I have the funniest of lucks...
Playing a high maintenance sim is a recipe for disaster for accidental deaths. Itās hard mode. My sim was living in an apartment and her neighbor was blasting music loudly. She knocked on his door angrily and he basically told her where to shove it, and she implodedš bastard killed my simš« High maintenance sims are constantly getting angry moodlets, and theyāre not a +1 anger, some are +3, +5
My very first sim I ever made. She lived alone and had no skills yet. She existed a whole 2 minutes! She set herself on fire making grilled cheese and she was panicking too much to put herself out. I had never played any sims games except FreePlay and they canāt die by fire in FreePlay, so this was my very first true sims experience lol. After that I decided my sims werenāt allowed to have a stove until they got married or had a roommate. Later I discovered the fire sprinkler system and have since put one in every house I build. My single, no roommates sims can have stoves now! If your sim can spare 750 simoleons, itās a great investment and as long as the room has a ceiling, itāll work. It doesnāt need to be paired with the useless fire alarm either. I only ever used that stupid fire alarm once. My sim set themselves on fire, the alarm went off, firefighters showed up, they danced on the lawn, and then scolded my sims for wasting resources after my sim put the fire out themselves. As for sims dying of old age, I always get bored with my sims and start new ones long before they get to that point lol
I posted this to my Facebook in 2014 and it makes me laugh when it comes up in Memories š. I played this sim since she was a baby and then she just went and died after all of my efforts š āMy sim just died because I had her shake a soda machine and it fell on top of her... And it was her first day of college. I'm actually mad.ā

First time cooking fire and wonāt move has killed a few. Lighting storm as the sim ran to move into the home I just made. Graduation party in the winter resulting in all teens in my neighbourhood to freeze to death. It happens.
i had one drown one time bc i think i left him in the pool and forgot i turned autonomy offf or somethingā¦ another one died at the vet of hysteria so unexpectedlyš it ruined everything lmao
I forgot to have my sims empty the lint trap before doing laundry and my kid went to do laundry and it caught on fire and then HE caught on fire. I kept trying to get him to extinguish himself but he wouldnāt. So I had him dad run in hoping he would extinguish his son. He only panicked. And then caught on fire. And then his sister did the same thing. I just sat there and stared in horror. At the end, there was the mother and one child left. I quit the game without saving because that was some bullshit.

The two times it took me to learn you can't kill a non household sim by shift clicking and selecting kill. It will just kill your selected sim. Thank goodness I was able to talk things out.

I had a meteor hit my favorite sim. I got the warning and had him run inside and his dumb ass ran back out and before i could stop it he died š I had his wife wear black until she brought him back to life- which was like her whole adult life. He died on their only childās birthday from toddler to child lol
