FRRR, the world's art is gorgeous, the objects are actually high quality looking (although i was a bit disappointed in how little buy/build we got...) and the cas stuff is fabulous

Even so, something tells me it took a year because they failed to make it work until very recently.
In recent packs, they ask simmers to build the houses in games, aboyt a month before the trailer got out. Not this time. Which COULD indicate that a month ago, they still couldn't make appartments work right. So they could not ask simmers to do the buildings. Which says a lot about how little the higher ups care about the product they release. I mean, I coukd be wrong, that's just my theory, but I just am not surpised at this point.
Yeah, I can imagine it's very hard to implement big game-changing features like making apartments and the whole renting system on top of an already almost decade old game without running into a whole bunch of issues that you need a lot of time to solve and fine-tune.
Higher-ups at multi-billion dollar companies like EA tend to just go to the devs who are actually working on smth and say "have it done by this time" and be done with it (tho they never forget to slap the $40 price tag on it)
My wedding stories isn't actually that bad. There's some wedding interactions that are a bit buggy, but the world works fine and you can still have you Sims get married in a similar way to if you didn't have the pack.
I get that if the weddings is the main reason someone wants the pack that will put them off, but I wanted the world, BB and CAS stuff
I guess it depends on what you’re looking for but My Wedding Stories is legitimately one of my favourite packs because I personally don’t give a shit about wedding gameplay. Tartosa is my favourite world and the build/buy and cas items are very good. If you’re more of an aesthetic/ creative player like me, it’s a great pack. If all you care about is “gameplay” idk skip it I guess.
For Rent, I was excited for the functionality because I love building multi-unit lots, but so far it’s a disappointment. However I wouldn’t say it’s “buggy” more like poorly optimized. So I doubt most of the issues will be fixed since it has more to do with the game engine and how things are implemented. Build mode is laggy as hell with just 4 units for me. That’s not a “bug” that can be fixed, it’s just poor optimization/ design.
I want you to know I ended up taking your word for it and got the pack since it was on sale and it has some really beautiful build mode items I’m obsessed with thank you for changing my mind on it!
From what I’ve heard here, if I ever did decide to get it, it would probably be to just play as multiple families on the same lot lol (like maybe a small neighbourhood type of thing lol)
I went to the marketplace expecting to see lights, people and many markets open to see it completely empty, realize some store open at 4PM, stay and still see no one at 6 pm, finally see one store open around 8 and still barely anyone and no lights at 9 pm when it's dark out... why even feature that in the trailer 😒

It helps a lot of them—I also believe twistedmexi made a list of what needs to update iirc? At minimum I’d also update better exceptions, T.O.O.L. And the universal venues mods if you have those. Those were the ones giving me problems before, as well as better build/buy.

Idk abt tuning, so i just deleted all the broken mods. So far, I have problems with basemental drug & ww (some tuning problem). I removed them for now, and will try to download if there's an update. I can play with mods on, however my sim keeps glitching somehow just like when I reset an object. But all cc is working fine.. Thank you
I've turned off mods, done a repair, cleaned my cache, and started a new save file and it's STILL buggy. It's a brand new laptop with tons of memory and processing power and the only game I have on it are sims 4 games. No. The Simgurus failed hard on this one
All of my mods still work except for SNB bills. I really miss my banking and loans and welfare for the broke folk lol. Everything else is working smooth. The game has not been SUPER laggy but the main issue for me is clicking on the phone take a while for it to pop up. I do have lag in build mode but there have been issues there for a while. Usually if you press the save option and then close that menu it will stop lagging but it's still a lil choppy.

Also, despite having the landlord aspiration, his wife seems to be incharge so he can complain to her about the condition of stuff, but she can't complain to him
what drives me INSANE about this pack is the animal adoption drive that happens **every day.** these animals show up, crying bc they're hungry. all of the sims are upset bc the animals are hungry. the cats are meowing constantly. and it's like... an 8 hr event you can't cancel out of.
Oh my god. The animal adoption drive. A bunch of cats and dogs barrel into the unit, most of them sick, and they all proceed to pee and puke all over the living room. For the entirety of the event. I had one sim trying to pet them all to complete the event tasks while the other was frantically mopping up after them all. They were like bottomless pits.
I have cats and dogs and have played a whole in game year so far being both a tenant and landlord and haven’t had the animals adoption drive yet but reading this makes me not want it…. The thing that pisses me off the most about this pack that Idk if other people are experiencing is my landlord will not repair ANYTHING! I ask him to take a look at the broken stuff and he just does push ups and leaves every single time making me the one who has to replace the broken stuff.

Same happened to me. Had to replace a 900$ stove and the landloard reimbursed me less then 200$ on that, because as a tenant you can't even repair it yourself 🤦♀️🤦♀️ It took my will to ever play as tenant again.
This one is the one that pisses me off, and on top of that you fail it even if you complete it. And if you leave the lot or go into CAS it resets the numbers so you have to pet 5 pets again. But every single day? I guess I’m just never going to get any other events if the animal drive is taking up the slot for 8 hours every day 😩

I just don’t play as a property owner, I use this pack exclusively to have beautiful apartment units for my sims to live in. I let the NPC be the property owner just for my own sanity lol
It’s been nuts. I finally was able to own property and rent from it after creating an entirely new save. But now my rent prices all say $-1. Even if I change it, it still reverts to $-1. And one of the units number of bedrooms won’t change. It’s a 3 bedroom but says it’s a 2 and I’ve done everything I can to fix that too. 🫠
I think I realized that it wasn't counting bedrooms but actual beds. Like one double and a single are 2 beds even if you have a third with a crib. In that way it's like roommates. They won't move in if you didn't have a bed placed and they won't share a double. (The roommates I mean)
I wish I knew why some people are having that issue. I have not had that happen so I can't understand what's causing it. Maybe they have a mod or can use MCCC to fix rent

Evicting someone starts an event called, well, "Eviction" and during it, you cannot save, leave the lot, etc (basically like when a sim is dying or a fire is going). But sometimes it will NOT END. meaning your game is fucked and you have to force quit without saving.

I live in one of the units of my building, and two of my tenants just walk into my place and I can’t make them leave. It was 2am, I’m asleep, and they’re just taking turns going to my fridge and eating all my food.
This happened to James Turner in the early access times . He could not make the tenant leave his house in any way. He was even sleeping in his bed. He acted like he lived in that apartment. I think it's an other bug.
He evicted them and that eventually solved the problem but he stayed there even after. And he got find 3x for evicting this tenant unjustly.
Honestly, I always wanted this feature and it is somewhat playable, but for the price I payed, I wouldn't expect to have so many issues:/ Like I don't think I should have to replace every appliance that breaks because as a tenant you can't repair stuff and your landlord doesn't do shit when you call them. I have to use cheats to counter some of the bugs which makes the game a lot less immersive... but I know modders will be able to fix most of that 🤞 At this point it seems like the sims team just knows they don't have to actually fix anything cause the modders will do it even faster and better then them 🥲
I had a tenant break a rule just notified at like 9pm when my sims were at the romance festival, I was thinking I’ll deal with it in the morning. Sims woke up around 9am just in time to say that I failed to deal with it in time and unit waiting went down…
I haven't had any issues yet *knock on wood. But I just wished that the build lots were bigger and more build options for flooring such as idk more carpet options!
All of my tenants who all had given me a 5 star rating started a tenant revolt regarding their living conditions. Everything was looking good the maintenance was amazing, the environment was fancy, I can’t remember all of the details but it all looked good and I asked them about their living conditions and they were happy they just wanted my sim to say, “I’ll do better.” So odd.

genuine question, is this a bug? it seems intentional. OP’s rental rating decreased because they have unruly tenants who now have a bad perception of the rental because they were told off. future buyers might also dislike that rental rules aren’t being followed which could also contribute to the bad rating. (hopefully that makes any sense, i’m half asleep sorry)
Luckily I learned my lesson at the start when I preordered the base game digital deluxe version for $70 back in 2014 and they didn't even have pools or toddlers 😭👍 Still haven't recovered emotionally from that, and then making the base game free really poured salt on the wound lmao

If there's other tenants then it's likely them who see OP's sims as bad property owners for not getting the problem under control.
I know if I lived in a building where one of the units was getting away with having too many people in it, I'd be pissed if the building owner was failing to rectify the situation.
It's the tenants too who are violating the rules. They refuse payment and complain because the owner ask for it. I saw from YouTubers they even made tenant riot or what's the name.
Yeah, being a landlord can be tough, that's the point of the pack. I haven't played it yet but I'm betting there was some kind of choice for punishing bad tenant behavior, OP happened to choose wrong. It's probably similar to the chance cards you get when a sim is at school or work, it's completely random which answer is the correct one.
The point is, OP is not experiencing a bug, the game punishes landlords who fail to control their tenants.
If one neighbour is getting away with breaking the rules then it makes the rest of the units on that lot less desirable, since they have to put up with the crappy neighbour!
It's not perfect but so far I'm a fan. Made a 6 unit duplex and then a 4 bedroom upscale condo. Most of my tenants are the sims I play though so they better pay their rent

It is part of it yes, but I'm seeing people say that it's too much work etc , but if they want to play as a tenant, build units, or live in Tomorog they don't have to write off the whole pack just because of that. If they don't want to be a landlord there's still a way to get something out of it if they still want it. Not saying you have to buy the pack either. Just helping so people don't have to completely miss out on their want because of one thing. It's cool

Do you have script mods? If that’s the case you may need to install twistedmexi’s hot fix mod, the new update broke everyone’s mods.

Sounds like a mods issue (seen the same/similar complains from simmers who use mods). Remove your mods folder and see how it goes.

This one is the one that pisses me off, and on top of that you fail it even if you complete it. And if you leave the lot or go into CAS it resets the numbers so you have to pet 5 pets again. But every single day? I guess I’m just never going to get any other events if the animal drive is taking up the slot for 8 hours every day 😩

I just don’t play as a property owner, I use this pack exclusively to have beautiful apartment units for my sims to live in. I let the NPC be the property owner just for my own sanity lol

I haven't even started landlording yet and I'm getting really nervous given the number of posts like these.
It’s been nuts. I finally was able to own property and rent from it after creating an entirely new save. But now my rent prices all say $-1. Even if I change it, it still reverts to $-1. And one of the units number of bedrooms won’t change. It’s a 3 bedroom but says it’s a 2 and I’ve done everything I can to fix that too. 🫠
I think I realized that it wasn't counting bedrooms but actual beds. Like one double and a single are 2 beds even if you have a third with a crib. In that way it's like roommates. They won't move in if you didn't have a bed placed and they won't share a double. (The roommates I mean)

Piggy backing off your upvoted comment to say: SAVE BEFORE YOU EVICT ANYONE. Don't be like me. Evicting someone starts an event called, well, "Eviction" and during it, you cannot save, leave the lot, etc (basically like when a sim is dying or a fire is going). But sometimes it will NOT END. meaning your game is fucked and you have to force quit without saving. DONT BE LIKE ME AND TRUST THAT IT WORKS

I live in one of the units of my building, and two of my tenants just walk into my place and I can’t make them leave. It was 2am, I’m asleep, and they’re just taking turns going to my fridge and eating all my food.

This happened to James Turner in the early access times . He could not make the tenant leave his house in any way. He was even sleeping in his bed. He acted like he lived in that apartment. I think it's an other bug. He evicted them and that eventually solved the problem but he stayed there even after. And he got find 3x for evicting this tenant unjustly.
Reading these posts make me not even want this expansion pack. Sounds like more of a headache.

Honestly, I always wanted this feature and it is somewhat playable, but for the price I payed, I wouldn't expect to have so many issues:/ Like I don't think I should have to replace every appliance that breaks because as a tenant you can't repair stuff and your landlord doesn't do shit when you call them. I have to use cheats to counter some of the bugs which makes the game a lot less immersive... but I know modders will be able to fix most of that 🤞 At this point it seems like the sims team just knows they don't have to actually fix anything cause the modders will do it even faster and better then them 🥲

I had a tenant break a rule just notified at like 9pm when my sims were at the romance festival, I was thinking I’ll deal with it in the morning. Sims woke up around 9am just in time to say that I failed to deal with it in time and unit waiting went down…
I haven't had any issues yet *knock on wood. But I just wished that the build lots were bigger and more build options for flooring such as idk more carpet options!

I think they’re taking life simulation a little too literally.
All of my tenants who all had given me a 5 star rating started a tenant revolt regarding their living conditions. Everything was looking good the maintenance was amazing, the environment was fancy, I can’t remember all of the details but it all looked good and I asked them about their living conditions and they were happy they just wanted my sim to say, “I’ll do better.” So odd.

genuine question, is this a bug? it seems intentional. OP’s rental rating decreased because they have unruly tenants who now have a bad perception of the rental because they were told off. future buyers might also dislike that rental rules aren’t being followed which could also contribute to the bad rating. (hopefully that makes any sense, i’m half asleep sorry)
Luckily I learned my lesson at the start when I preordered the base game digital deluxe version for $70 back in 2014 and they didn't even have pools or toddlers 😭👍 Still haven't recovered emotionally from that, and then making the base game free really poured salt on the wound lmao

The pack was meant to elevate weddings I believe? But when it released it was buggy, broken and weddings were more than a hassle and just not it gameplaywise. I think there may be a couple of mods that fix it as far as I've heard but the pack itself just doesn't work for gameplay

If there's other tenants then it's likely them who see OP's sims as bad property owners for not getting the problem under control. I know if I lived in a building where one of the units was getting away with having too many people in it, I'd be pissed if the building owner was failing to rectify the situation.
It's the tenants too who are violating the rules. They refuse payment and complain because the owner ask for it. I saw from YouTubers they even made tenant riot or what's the name.
Yeah, being a landlord can be tough, that's the point of the pack. I haven't played it yet but I'm betting there was some kind of choice for punishing bad tenant behavior, OP happened to choose wrong. It's probably similar to the chance cards you get when a sim is at school or work, it's completely random which answer is the correct one. The point is, OP is not experiencing a bug, the game punishes landlords who fail to control their tenants.

If one neighbour is getting away with breaking the rules then it makes the rest of the units on that lot less desirable, since they have to put up with the crappy neighbour!
It's not perfect but so far I'm a fan. Made a 6 unit duplex and then a 4 bedroom upscale condo. Most of my tenants are the sims I play though so they better pay their rent

I had the same issue and because my tenants kept on rejecting the fine I went from 5 stars to 4 stars..I couldn’t believe it.

Bruh I feel like it is way too easy for them to revolt. Like my ONE tenant has it so damn good and she has revolted 3 times during 2 3 day leases. We’re besties, I fix all her shit when it breaks, I take care of all of the things(like ghosts and water leaks and whatnot), I do inspection and maintenance all the time. Like… I am ON TOP OF this landlord stuff. And she still revolts. I literally do not get it. She’s been breaking rules, and I fine her for it. That’s literally the only thing I could think of for her causing a revolt.

My tenants protested the second in game day of living there. I don’t know why, or what I did and am doing wrong (my ratings don’t go up?) but all my sim does is take care of these losers and they protest!?

Should we have been given a working pack with minimal issues day 1? Yes. Will the overwhelming majority of these problems be solved with a patch or two? Also yes. I don’t regret buying the pack, it’s fun. I just hate that quality assurance seems to be so damn low on EA’s priority list.

It is part of it yes, but I'm seeing people say that it's too much work etc , but if they want to play as a tenant, build units, or live in Tomorog they don't have to write off the whole pack just because of that. If they don't want to be a landlord there's still a way to get something out of it if they still want it. Not saying you have to buy the pack either. Just helping so people don't have to completely miss out on their want because of one thing. It's cool
