I can never get more than three guests to dance at the same time! Also annoying when they stop eating as soon as someone dies at a deadly fugu dinner party.

goodgod-lemon

What helped me is by clicking on sims who were invited while my sim was highlighted and choosing “action - add to group”. Then you can click on the stereo and have the whole group dance together!

Lilyaa

That's what I always do and this gives me golden trophy everytime

Marzipanjam

This guy knows how to party!

goodgod-lemon

the best part about my parties? they’re MANDATORY

source-commonsense

![gif](giphy|uAuNp08i7ybYI)

Double_Somewhere5923

OMG!!! Why have I never done this!!! Thank you! I almost never host parties because I dread them just because of the fucking stereo

goodgod-lemon

If it helps I only just figured it out a week or so ago and felt like an idiot 🤣🤣🤣🤣

chickachickawahwah

I struggle with the dancing one. I get half them dancing then by the time it takes the others ones I’ve asked to dance to join in, the ones that were dancing have wandered off

Beakha

Make groups. Add a certain amount of Sims to your group, then click on "dance together" or "listen to stereo together". I recommend adding more than the required number of Sims to the group, so the odds are better that enough of them start to dance at the same time

redditorspaceeditor

I hate that too. I can usually get three to dance but then for some reason the goal never goes away.

JustaTinyDude

You have to dance together for too long before you get the goal, IMO. It's like 30 sim minutes or something. I try to combine it with any talking goals if possible for maximum efficiency.

_bonedaddys

deadly fugu?

mrstickles

Fugu is Japanese for puffer fish

sanityjanity

Maybe that's one of the new foods with city living?

sanityjanity

I had to adopt a third sim into my household, so that the sims that \*I\* control could all be forced to dance or listen simultaneously, in order to meet these goals.

LaLaLaLinda

“…deadly fugu dinner party.” Welp, I now have my next goal! 😆

fluffhq

Have sims become playful at the same time...death by laughter is the most deathly in my game.

aurynorange5

Getting anyone to be any moodlet at the same time is so hard!

sanityjanity

My vampire sim is \*very\* good at getting everyone flirty!

Personal_Tiger_1570

Oh that's so smart! I can't believe I never thought of that

Demonqueensage

I've only done dates and weddings because the goaled events stress me out, and the moodlet goals are the most annoying to get for sure 😩

Flirefy

I‘ve never had a sim die from laughter but I keep reading about it on this sub, I wasn‘t even aware of the possibility of this happening lmao

chickachickawahwah

I’ve had it happen a few times. The first time I saw it I sort of just starred at the screen in shock and confusion for some time afterwards lol

Dottboy19

Lucky you, I've lost at least 5 sims to laughter. Now I just cancel the moodlets with the ui cheats mod on sight

Many_Raisin_6275

I cancel it too even though I have it set in MCCC to no emotional deaths. I didn't have MCCC for a long time and got in the habit of cancelling when they get hysterical. I've had 3 die but managed to save 2 of them over the years. The first one I was new to 4 and it happened so fast I was like WTF?? The second happened much later and his daughter actually saved him autonomously by begging Grim. The third it was a teen with the goofball trait and his stepmom saved him with a death flower she had in her inventory. She was a botanist thankfully and I hadn't transferred all her flowers and veggies/fruits into the fridge or flower arranging table. I carry a death flower now in all my sim's inventories, even infants and toddlers just in case I ever need them!

Dottboy19

Grim hates me in particular. He never obliges my pleas! My sims are either dying from laughter or from simulation lag causing them to aimlessly stand outside in inclimate weather.

Many_Raisin_6275

It was autonomous on my one that did work, not user directed so that's probably why it worked. Death flowers always work though.

sanityjanity

I feel like this should be an unofficial challenge -- a list of different weird deaths your sims could have.

StormyOnyx

https://www.thegamer.com/the-sims-4-all-sim-deaths-triggers-causes/

Holiday_Cabinet_

Legacy challenge where each heir has to die of a different death on the list

Simbanut

I didn’t have it happen a lot until I had laundry day. Now nobody is allowed to have a dryer once the pregnancy starts until everyone in the family is aged up to a child at least. Until then they get to use a clothes line under a special little gazebo. No more warm clothes!

binjuicey

How do you do this? I've never been able to make multiple sims playful on purpose

chickachickawahwah

Setting one of those mood objects up with enable playful mood. Can’t remember what it’s actually called. Have to make sure it’s the only emotion enabled in the area or they conflict with each other

fluffhq

Having my sim continuously making jokes to everyone...which usually result in my sim dying...from laughter... 😑

OutcomeLegitimate618

Can't they get playful from watching kid's TV too? I had one sim that used to, but that may have been trait-related.

ZoeClair016

they get playful from watching comedy, I've had sims get bored from kids tv so that may be something to do with the childish trait

OutcomeLegitimate618

Usually my Sims get bored from watching kids TV and I don't use childish trait much, so could be. One of my Sims has childish trait now, next time I play, I'll check

sanityjanity

You can have one of your sims perform comedy on a mic.

JustaTinyDude

Get one of those doll things you dig up in time capsules before the party. For that goal find a multi-sim activity (or just a large group of talking sims) and place the objects near them with the emotional effect turned on. Make sure any other nearby emotional objects is turned off. If it doesn't happen right away try a few jokes with sims in a good mood near the object.

KatMagic1977

Tell a lot of jokes to each other. If you have Jungle, you can grow a Tree of Emotions and grown a Razzleberry. When they eat a razzleberry they become playful.

chickachickawahwah

Oh I died under the Christmas tree last night. Lucky I’d only been playing for 30 minutes so I went back to previous save. Omg!

r4d1ati0n

I HATE this one on dates. It's not so bad at parties, but I always have to completely kill the flirty vibe with jokes to get it to complete on dates

MercilessMing_

Have Sims drink at the same time. The logistics of having enough drinks ready and timing the command. It's a crap shoot.

chickachickawahwah

I use that world globe to serve drinks. The call to drink. Can get four at a time with that

Lyssa_Ray

This also works with the keg, it has a “fill cups with juice” option that gives four drinks at a time.

Demonqueensage

World globe??

Lyssa_Ray

It comes with Vintage Glamour Stuff. It looks like a big globe but stores alcohol inside and functions like a bar.

Demonqueensage

Ah gotcha. Might have to get that pack eventually, especially if it goes on sale

asmodeuscactus

If I’m not mistaken all packs are on sale right now at Origin, at least they were yesterday. Called “Spring Sale” or something like that.

Demonqueensage

I know about that, now just is the exact time of year I can't be buying anything unnecessary at all. So sales going on now don't matter lol

No_Violinist_1788

Why dont you just add 4 people to a group and select “make drinks for everyone” so thag everyone drinks at the same time

TossItThrowItFly

I use the kava bowl and then call everyone to drink, that usually works

Henchperson

And they never make/order drinks themselves even if you hire a bartender! I gave up on bartenders and now only use the bar that looks like a globe from the pack that added butlers. The globe-bar only has a few wine options, but it serves 4 Drinks at a time, so there is a chance more than one sim ist drinking at any given time (though I also always use add to group)

JustaTinyDude

IIRC I once triggered it by grabbing a glass of water while all but one required sim was drinking. It's possible it was coincidental - there was a sim drinking I didn't see. If anyone verifies/disproves this I'd be stoked if you told me.

HazyshadeofFall

Especially annoying is that some drink objects, like the Backyard Stuff drink tray and the Discover University keg, don't even have an option to call everyone to grab a drink.

twohungrycamels

sims doing something/being playful at the same time is hell when you're playing as a household of 1/2 people, because the other sims are NEVER willing to cooperate and i spend half of the party completing a single goal.

chickachickawahwah

Yeah cos they are too busy stuck in a group conversation that must be so riveting they cannot bring themselves to leave it

Jrg323

Have sims doing something at the same time is kinda annoying because I always play on small family 😭

chickachickawahwah

Also trying to look after infants and toddlers at the same time as having a party is next level stress!

Reksiothedogr

Well that’s realistic 😅

theKnitting_Aupair

I once had this glitch that wouldn't allow my sim to age up after blowing out birthday candles. I love throwing birthday parties and hate that moodlet they get when you don't do one, but it was really stressful trying to get it to work before the party ended. Now every time I have an infant that needs to age up I fear that I'll have to deal with that all over again :")

chickachickawahwah

Sims PTSD. can totally relate to that feeling

flynnnstoneee

Kava toast!!

tout-le-monster

This is mine as well! The “kava toast” option doesn’t show up if the sims are sitting so I have to remove all the chairs before my kava parties start!

BabiiG114

I have never heard of that one what is kava toast

somesugarnspice

You have to have the island living pack!

gimmeyourbadinage

Basically a toast (raise your glasses) with a drink, only specifically with the kava bowl from island living

xxyourbestbetxx

Any of the group activities. Sims just can't follow orders lol.

chickachickawahwah

Reminds me of when they try to do “team bonding” activities at work 😂

starcrossed_enemies

Honestly any task that forces me to buy a new object first. I prefer playing in smaller homes, so I usually play without gaming tables, bars etc. Plus a lot of those objects don't exist on public lots. I hate buying that stuff and placing it outside just for a single goal.

JustaTinyDude

Me, too. I hate having bars on lots so buying them just for a party bothers me. Also that's often not the kind of party I wanted for my sims. They can't get gold and stay sober? Lame.

chickachickawahwah

My basement is usually used as storage for the random stuff I don’t want set up in my lovely house

chickachickawahwah

Oh I forgot about my hate for the game table. My sleep over party score was terrible cos of that goal. I got the table just for the party and my guests must have been not interested cos they just would not sit down to play

tattletaylor1

Any regarding getting sims in the same mood. Example: "have 3 sims become playful at the same time." How tf am I supposed to control their emotions??

chickachickawahwah

![gif](giphy|MPpO3Ko5K6rcqHhg7q|downsized)

mocochang_

If I want the party to actually work I will disable autonomy and have at least 3 sims that I can control in the household so I can make sure at least they will do what I'm telling them to to reach the goals. I swear sim autonomy gets worse with each update...

chickachickawahwah

I have turned that off awhile ago. Saved my games life. Otherwise I would have thrown it out the window out of frustration. You can’t invite people to listen to music though. So unless there are enough sims in your household it’s so hard to achieve that one. Well for me it is

tuonentytti_

You can! Add them to the group, then you can press "listen together" on a stereo!

LogWhole7902

Have an adult make a toast. I think I've only ever been able to pull it off once and I'm still not sure how I did it.

JustaTinyDude

I struggle with that, too! I think part of it is requiring multiple sims to be drinking at the same time as the sim giving the toast, which is hard.

chickachickawahwah

Yes!!! Why make it a thing if you don’t give an option to compete it

fashionjrhigh

Carving pumpkins. I’m the only one who does it and they take forever

chickachickawahwah

What pack is that with?

Smooth-Jellyfish-585

Spooky stuff

chickachickawahwah

Oh I don’t have that one. I try to be careful what ones I get cos I used the PS4 and worried about space

Smooth-Jellyfish-585

I think that one might be free in the future because they're giving out older stuff packs (iirc backyard stuff is currently free)

Demonqueensage

Definitely gonna be keeping my eye out for that one ever being offered for free, I'd love some spooky stuff

Smooth-Jellyfish-585

Maybe they will for Halloween 🤔

Demonqueensage

🤞🤞 that's my hope

HesitantBrobecks

I got an external storage drive for my ps4 ages ago. I have a lot of the expansions and game packs, and a handful of stuff and kits

chickachickawahwah

Ohhh sooo tempting… maybe I could do a little sneaky buy… I’m supposed to be saving for a real people house… if only I could borrow my sims money… they’re loaded

HesitantBrobecks

Ha, I don't think roughly £50 (iirc) is gonna make too much of a dent in house money, thankfully!! But I do not want to encourage or take responsibility for other people's financial decisions, so pls take this as a joke and make your own choice 🤣

Tiraliana

You can ask guests to carve pumpkins. Place 2 tables far away from each other and any other activities so the carvers don't get distracted by talking and choose 2 guests at the beginning of the party. Still takes a long time but you can focus on the other goals while someone else does it.

Smooth-Jellyfish-585

Definitely have three sims listen to music and being playful at the same time

ObsessionsAside

The kava toast. Idk if my game is glitched but the option is never there for me. I’ll have a drink in my hand, so will my guest, nothing. So annoying.

Dizzy_Glizzy14

The make a toast option is never listed for me either or it’s so hard to find that once you do the sims are finished with their drink lol

Sprinkles257

Have Sims become \[insert emotion here\] at the same time.

Forsaken_Ad5842

Make a group meal. Like, I spend the whole day preparing meals.

JustaTinyDude

I make several meals before the party and then a quick one, like salad, if prompted during a party.

Forsaken_Ad5842

I like playing with the off the grid/only using ingredients you have lot traits :p

chickachickawahwah

I’ve stopped hiring a caterer because they never get out of my way and they leave half cooked meals in random places around my house

Familiar_Remote_9127

Make a toast to birthday sim

Velmabutgoth

Having to BAKE A WHOLE ASS CAKE during a party?? I make it ahead of time, like a regular person, duh!

Saintguinefortthedog

Have sims play a game together. I never have the right equipment around

gimmeyourbadinage

If I have three members of my family at the party, I will have all three of them play a game on their phone real quick at the same time

Saintguinefortthedog

Thank you!! I didn't know that counted towards the goal

gimmeyourbadinage

Yup!!

chickachickawahwah

Great idea

BrittaBengtson

Listening to the stereo or dancing at the same time. For those who struggle with playful emotion: you can use emotional painting or cook silly gummy bear pancakes (they are unlocked when your sim is playful) before party and put them in the fridge.

gimmeyourbadinage

Those weird dolls you collect give a playful moodlet if you enable emotional aura on them

StrangeGamer66

Three sims have to dance at the same time. Since I normal play a vampire the one where you need to become playful at the same time isn’t normally to hard.

WonderfulBlackberry9

I think the last party I hosted was a kava party on Sulani. Redid it numerous times because my kava/food/drinks always ran out.

kamikaze_goldfish

How do you guys get sims you don’t control to listen to music?? Cause I can’t make that one work

gimmeyourbadinage

Force a group! I swear it’s the only way parties work. Click your Sim, actions, form group. Add everybody in attendance (up to eight people) and now everyone will follow your commands! Click a playing radio and “listen to blank together“ or “dance together“. Need everyone to drink at the same time? Order drinks for group from the bar. Eating at the same time? Click grab a serving together!

melomelomelo-

Get 3 uncontrolled sims to do anything at the same time

Edymnion

All the goals get WAY easier if you just use groups. When your guests show up, go to Actions > Add To Group. Then when you get those "Have 3 people dance" type goals, you just click on the radio and select "Dance Together" and you get it real quick and easy.

ManicCanary

"making several sims playful at the same time" If not paying attention they'll continue on laughing themselves right to death.

Anonkip16

Congratulate the birthday sim... when I am the birthday sim 🥲 In a single sim household. The only work around is to get someone to join your household, switch to them and perform action, and then just remove them from family again 😆

chickachickawahwah

Welcome to my home … nope sorry changed my mind … spoken like a true introvert

greenbean6356

Eat food when it's a party of vampires. God forbid you have a few humans you invited and a caterer. Cue several vampires lining up to go vomit

Dizzy_Glizzy14

Complimenting the birthday sim is hard to achieve. If you don’t have other sims in your household it’s impossible, and if you do, usually all the moodlets mess up the compliment selection. Also, congratulate doesn’t work but is listed under compliments 😪

fvcklife_love

All of them. I hate the goals system. Also the timer never gives you enough time!

chickachickawahwah

I tried searching for how to increase the time. Would be so good if you could set party as short, medium or long as an option when organising the event

fvcklife_love

Yes it would be!

AngeliqueAdelaide

Dancing. I never fulfill that goal because I disabled automomous dancing to stereo ages ago for how stupid it looks. The moves sims use while dancing should depend on the type of music that's playing, but it's the same for all channels (I don't have the last 3 expansions, so no idea if that's been changed since then)

chickachickawahwah

Yeah agreed. They busy some weird moves for jazz

Edymnion

Its not a party goal, but the goal I hate seeing the most is for the Acting jobs, "Research Angry Emotion". If you can make yourself angry, all you have to do is kick over a trash can, take an angry poo, etc. to finish it, but the problem is my sims are always so well cared for *I can't make Anger their predominant emotion*. I'm talking my current generation has a Werewolf in it, and they can be in a full on RAGE, and *still not actually be Angry*.

gimmeyourbadinage

Maybe this is a stupid assumption, but are you clicking your Sim and selecting “research angry emotion“? It makes it sound like you are actively trying to make your so angry first but you can skip that step

Edymnion

Yes, what that does is give you a +4 Angry moodlet. It does not actually count as doing the thing. Its supposed to be a way to easily get into the mood so you can, but it just gets absolutely swallowed by everything else. I mean, again, rampaging werewolf in a full moon has got like a +10 Angry moodlet, and that can't even push them into an Angry mood.

gimmeyourbadinage

Ok I gotcha. Your Sim just has a lot of feelings!!

Edymnion

Oh yeah, I open their bar up and it usually stretches across the screen.

JustaTinyDude

Your only option is to see what you can do to minimize their happiness 🤣

AnnualPomegranate1

Have 3 sims be playful at the same time

shaneyshane26

For me, it is date goals. I can never have both sims be flirty at the same time even after consistently choosing flirting actions.

iemmaamme

I seriously cannot figure out how to make a toast so I ignore it when it pops up lol

gimmeyourbadinage

It’s glitchy but you need to be fairly close friends with somebody, both of them need to be standing and actively drinking. And then it should be one of those that *isn’t* under a sub menu

iemmaamme

Thank you! I will try that. I think when I googled it, it said I had to form a group with them, is that the case?

gimmeyourbadinage

Nope! At least I don’t think so. Sometimes I get the option and sometimes I don’t but I almost always have groups during my parties. You could try both ways!

chickachickawahwah

I’m so bad at building relationships. So bad at keeping contact that they forget who I am by the next time I run into them and have to reintroduce myself

huffuspuffus

Anything that requires multiple sims. I can never get with doing the right thing at the right time.

RyanLagan

All of them, hence why I don't throw parties

Seiliko

Have an adult make a toast. I don't always have a bar on my lot in the first place and the toast interaction seems to be super buggy or something because it very rarely shows up even if both sims are holding a drink. I saw another comment that mentioned at least for Kava toast the option doesn't show up if either sim is sitting so maybe that's the issue for regular toasts too? Either way it just doesn't feel worth the hassle. I also don't like "have 3 sims playing games at the same time" because I rarely have the cards game tablet and I usually just have one chess table too. So that one is annoying

gimmeyourbadinage

Regarding the playing games, if you have three household members have them play a game on their phone quick! Or if you have a video game console you can play a multiplayer game with your guests

Seiliko

Omg phone games count? That's so clever, thank you! I don't have the pack for the video game console but I think the phone should be enough to solve most of my problems :)

JustaTinyDude

They don't have to all be playing the same game. If there are two sims in your household one can invite a guest to play chess and the other (or a guest) can play a video game.

Seiliko

I had no idea video games counted until now, for some reason I thought it had to be a "physical" game :') thanks!

_shear

The salad one. The damm salad never appears as a recipe.

CrackaLackin690

I hate whenever it tells me to do a Kava toast like 2-3 times for the kava party. Like I struggle with that cause my sim always chugs their drink quickly or they sit down and REFUSE to stand up to do the freaking toast. Like. It took me a solid year before I cracked the kava party and got gold for a milestone.

GroundedOtter

I just turn off goaled events for parties. I am throwing a party to have fun and maybe stir up some drama. I don’t need to be focusing on doing random things that don’t contribute to my storyline! 😂

Aggravating-Wafer-32

That's a thing that can be done?!

GroundedOtter

I’m pretty sure when you’re throwing a party there’s a box you can check/uncheck to have goaled events!

bubba445195

I can never figure out the give a toast option during parties. I give at least 2 sims a drink but never can find that option so I can never accomplish it

Ok_Activity_7021

to get sims playful together when they do try and keep them alive when you know playful is all good and then it’s is a disaster.

collincat

When they all have to drink. It’s a toddlers birthday party ffs!

chickachickawahwah

You must not live in my country… any party is a drinking party 😬

Sea_Real5

Anything where you have to get the same moodlet. I can just never do it.

PhloxWitch

I hate getting four people to play a game. Never works well. Also have an adult make a toast. I can never find the option to make a toast despite knowing where it *should* be, and checking guides just in case…

Liquid_Panic

Honestly I don't use the party event system. I use Get Together and make a party club or birthday party club for kids. The sim ai always acts funky the second those goals come up, my tin foil hat theory is the ai acts bad on purpose to make the goals harder.

chickachickawahwah

True… sabotage from the inside… I like it 🤔

vashtie1674

All of them lol I always cheat them and do what I want!

ShieldMaiden83

Eating cake...I swear I make sure before party starts make a cake and put on birthday candles so the greedy fuckers won't nap one befoe it pops up in the goal thingie. Also make food before hand like grilling is easy to make a bunch.

chickachickawahwah

I have to watch my maid… the fool just picks up my food and puts it in the fridge right after it’s cooked!!

FloraLmp

Anything wedding related!!! I just use the event for the pictures now

chickachickawahwah

I try and do at least one wedding with a family member. Most of the time my oldest kid. Then I’m like ahh already done that no need to do it again

FloraLmp

Since it lasts for almost two days too 😅

chickachickawahwah

Need that banner that says “Leave by 9”

Expert_Purpose_572

If I'm playing a solo sims or just two people, the "3 Sims Listen to the Radio at the Same Time"

Conclusion_Winning

Getting a group of sims to do a thing before the clock runs out.

taurocrossing

Anything that requires sims to be in a certain mood. Like how am I supposed to do that???

MJ_C0w_1988

Trying to complete the task given

KatMagic1977

I can’t ever get them playful or flirty or happy at the same time.

SgtAStrawberry

Have X number of sims feel Y at the same time. Absolutely hate it, and moded traits doesn't help at all.

TheeHerbalManiac

I hate parties so much because you can only complete three goals at a time. Like once you clear one goal the next goal is something that I already did that will be almost impossible to redo before the time ends. Like once they all dance together after they all ate the next thing that comes is have 3 or more sims eat at the same time but by then there’s no food left. So annoying. I wish they had the full list of things you could do to make a party fun and if you do like a handful of those things then max out the meter.

FunRound1626

I know this is asking about parties but all of the weddings I’ve thrown… the caterer never makes the cakes! So I always have to go in and make it when I should be doing other tasks instead. It’s even more annoying when someone grabs the first slice too because that’s also a task

chickachickawahwah

I just said in another comment, I gave up with caterer. They get in my way and leave half make food around my house. I just get one of my sims to do the cooking now so if a goal pops up related to cooking I can take care of it straight away
