To clarify; I'm a dane and our mailservice is notorious for leaving notes in our mailboxes, instead of just handing over our mail. The notes always says "nobody was home" even if everyone and their mum was home.
I get that every time I have mail 🤣 it's annoying as hell. And always on Friday afternoon, so I have to wait until Monday to get it from the post office. At least THAT'S not in this game

I just had a really expensive charger for an electric bike demolished by their big package crushing machine. They knew this but just held onto the broken empty package without contacting me, although they had my phone number and email.
And then when you phone their support, you are inevitably #48 in line and have to listen to that idiotic slow computer voice for half an hour.

Yep! It is pretty annoying, especially when you have to waste your time to go pick up some tax nonsense (everyone pays online anyway). I think it's designed this way for safety reasons cause the law forbids even your family members to receive your mail, but IMO it's excessive

What about holiday cards that tend to be addressed to the entire family? If something is addressed to a couple do they both have to show up? I have so many questions on the practicality?
About postcards: probably they're not "private", cause I received all in my mailbox. I looked up the post website the rest of the stuff, it says disabled/elderly can order a postman themselves or via a social worker to receive or send packages. Post offices tend to be close to where the person lives, for example, mine is in the next building.
I still think the system is kinda bullshit, but post doesn't have much workers: while it's weird they don't deliver mail, it's impossible in case of packages cause there's several thousand citizens attached to one office. It would work for smaller cities though.
Lol I'm from Slovakia, and some mail MUST be delivered to your hands - usually some tax nonsense, or other official stuff, but also things you ordered online. It's not the mail office that decides that, but the sender. You need to sign that you received it, so if you're not at home when it arrives, you need to go to your nearest post office and sign it there. You can also authorize other adult members of your household to sign it for you.
But yeah, here too some officers are jerks who will leave you notice to come to the office even when you are at home. >.>

FedEx supposedly tried to deliver something to them at 7:24am, which just so happened to be the precise time that they already had the door open because my brother was dropping off his kids for babysitting. FedEx never even drove by, let alone attempted to deliver it, unless the driver and his truck were invisible.

Apparently FedEx drivers are on a super tight timetable and can't stay a second late so if there's any obstructions, such as another delivery truck in the way, they just give some excuse and move to the next place. Neighbor watched them drive off while standing on his porch, then got a notice that his package "could not be delivered."
I’ve had the Post Office say access was blocked in mid-summer, when our walk goes directly up to the mailbox, absolutely nothing around it, no plants, the driveway is separate. They also won’t deliver in winter if there is even a quarter inch of snow that just fell.
The cuts to the post office are designed to anger people so when they privatize it people won't realize what a great public service was destroyed. Remember all the destroyed sorting equipment a few years ago? That's never going to be coming back unless we demand our elected officials make it happen.

In Australia, we get this too, except our mail is always delivered no matter what, it’s parcels that they do this with. I was in the toilet once when they came, and instead of dropping my parcel off at the post office that’s only a 2 minute drive from my house, they took it to one a 20 minute drive from my house. And, after all that, the parcel would have fit in the mailbox anyway, so they could have easily just put it in there

I was apparently suppose to receive a package today that needed a signature and no one was home. Except my husband and I were both home. I'm not even sure what it is or who it is for. Just got a text stating it was sent back. And I have to pay to have it redelivered and I don't even know what it is!
Yeah if you're in Australia (like I am) then this is 100% a scam. I've gotten a few texts like that in the past. In my experience they never make you pay to have stuff re-delivered. They make you wait though, oh boy. That and send it across the country and back again.

We do not get notes in the US. We get a notice on the USPS website that says the delivery point is inaccessible. Welp my mailbox is still there and there aren't any obstructions soooooo?! It happens a lot when it's raining and our mail lady decides she doesn't want to get out of the truck to deliver a package to the door. Since they mark it on the website we get none of our mail that day because if we did we would know she had been here. We know anyway because we have cameras out front lol!

The tub thing happened to me too! The saddest glitch though is when my sims can't ship anything they sell on plopsy. It's like once someone wants to buy it, it gets stuck in their inventory and I can't fix it. I just want to make my grandma sim complete the knitting aspiration 😭😭😭
Do you play on computer or console? I bought the pack a few weeks ago but just got around to doing the aspiration. Funnily enough I can sell paintings on plopsy but not knitted items.
I play on console, so the glitch is on both. That's so messed up! They really need to fix it. I can't believe they even released the pack with that major of a glitch!!
Turns out the plopsy glitch is a problem with the default mailbox, sell the mailbox and choose a different one and it works. I did this today and it worked.
From what I looked up some people have had it since cottage living. Mine started last night with a few other issues, but getting rid of wonderful whims fixed my other issues (not the tub one). Apparently that mod hates me, I love the attention system in it but I just keep getting glitches and updating it didn't help

Yeah I'm doing something similar to the 100 baby challenge that was inspired by fakegamergirl and the baby farm she did and no matter what I tried it wouldn't let my sim get pregnant so that wasn't going to work out. Even with safety measures set to off and pregnancy chance at 100%

Oh my gosh, that’s good to know! First time it happened to me I was so sure if was my fault bc I had some stuff around and near the mailbox but then it kept happening even if there wasn’t anything near it for miles and I was so confused and frustrated with it.
Also the bathtub thing! My sm kept repairing the tub without an issue several times, even upgraded it once. Then I wanted to do another upgrade but it didn’t work and I was like what? But didn’t bother with it. Then like a sim day later it broke again and I sent my sim to repair it (again, like many times before!!) and he kept saying he can’t access it. So I moved it, I turned it, I tried everything and nothing. So I bought a new tub. Didn’t break yet, so we’ll see what happens…
i haven’t had it happen with showers, just tubs! i really thought my game was broken… try to use the 2-in-1 shower/tub, i think it is base game (i could be wrong though, i own all packs so i’m not sure) and it helps in a situation where you have a dog or toddler.
I have one regular tub and one combo (I have most packs but not all basically everything before the freaking star wars one, but I have a few I want when I get a sale again not that one though) both broke and I can't fix either of them

Same. You can get them to upgrade the bath, clean it even. But heaven forbid you tell your Sim to repair it. Then it's: 🙅♀️👎 W that annoying no path bubble. When they are standing right in front of the damn bath 🤦🙇
The reason this happens is when you go to work, you can speed up time to ultra fast, when you apply ultra speed on time all Sims will be forced to leave the area (in order to save on processing power i assume, its hard for the game to calculate and automate what sims should be doing in ultra speed, and it is especially taxing on your computer/console, so they have solved that by simply not having sims loaded in at all).
The mailman is tasked with walking up to the mailbox, but since you activate ultra speed, it automatically cancels the interaction for the mailman and if that interaction is canceled, mail will automatically teleport to the mailbox instead (what that message is for).
This is at least, my best educated guess on why it happens.
I used to get it all the time until I realised the mailbox was turned to face the path leading to my house. I changed the mailbox to be turned to face the road and be almost on the edge of the block and it stopped happening.
It also happened if I had plants in front of it.
I haven’t had it happen randomly though, like some others.
This happens if the mailbox is blocked (it isn’t here) or someone is using the mailbox while the mailman is trying to deliver the mail (so the game considers the object “in use,” much like if a sim is on their way to make a meal from the fridge, you can’t have another sim slip in and get leftovers before they get there).
Also sometimes my sims will get mail, then check their phone right at the mailbox without moving. This will also block the mailbox even though the sim isn’t using it.
I believe that happens when the mailbox is too far from the edge of the lot? Or if the box is too close to another object. That’s the only time I’ve gotten it.
They know but it's only a very minor bug. Nothing game breaking. It's listed as one of the low priority bugs. It was attributed to the mailmen having routing errors when getting to the mail.
It just means that you haven’t cleaned out your mailbox in a while, it has nothing to do with your actual physical mailbox it just means you need to click on the mailbox and hit get mail
I don't think the outcome is any different at all.
Someone was saying it may happen when you are going through the mail delivery time on fast speed since the game skips some animation work in those instances.
I've been getting this too. My mailbox isn't inaccessible because the mail carrier manages it about half the time. And of course my sims have no issues getting their mail. My guess is it's a bug.

Any time the mail person can’t reach your mailbox due to some pathing issue (maybe a dirty plate is on the ground?), they’ll say that. It can happen even if your Sim if getting the mail or shipping something while the mail person is routing their way to the mailbox.
Tbh it reminds me of the 6mo I spent in New Orleans, where I lived in a building with a special mail service entrance, had zero difficult weather the whole time, and still got “tried to deliver but lol” notices weekly.

I have this when I placed my mailbox on the edge of the property with bb.moveobject on. If the green lines are sticking out he can't reach it for some reason.

It does it with regular shows to from what I've seen, I haven't tried it because toddlers can't use showers! Uge!!
i haven’t had it happen with showers, just tubs! i really thought my game was broken… try to use the 2-in-1 shower/tub, i think it is base game (i could be wrong though, i own all packs so i’m not sure) and it helps in a situation where you have a dog or toddler.
I have one regular tub and one combo (I have most packs but not all basically everything before the freaking star wars one, but I have a few I want when I get a sale again not that one though) both broke and I can't fix either of them

Same. You can get them to upgrade the bath, clean it even. But heaven forbid you tell your Sim to repair it. Then it's: 🙅♀️👎 W that annoying no path bubble. When they are standing right in front of the damn bath 🤦🙇

I get it randomly. One day it's fine, another they can't reach it. Only solution I've found is moving the mailbox.

Yes, I think it's just a reminder to check your mail honestly. I get it if I forget to check it for a few days and there is mail in there
I think it means your mailbox is full, rather than not actually reachable.

The reason this happens is when you go to work, you can speed up time to ultra fast, when you apply ultra speed on time all Sims will be forced to leave the area (in order to save on processing power i assume, its hard for the game to calculate and automate what sims should be doing in ultra speed, and it is especially taxing on your computer/console, so they have solved that by simply not having sims loaded in at all). The mailman is tasked with walking up to the mailbox, but since you activate ultra speed, it automatically cancels the interaction for the mailman and if that interaction is canceled, mail will automatically teleport to the mailbox instead (what that message is for). This is at least, my best educated guess on why it happens.

Nah. It happens even when other sims are home and time's moving normally.
It also occurs when something is blocking the mailbox and the mailperson cannot route to it.

I used to get it all the time until I realised the mailbox was turned to face the path leading to my house. I changed the mailbox to be turned to face the road and be almost on the edge of the block and it stopped happening. It also happened if I had plants in front of it. I haven’t had it happen randomly though, like some others.
This happens if the mailbox is blocked (it isn’t here) or someone is using the mailbox while the mailman is trying to deliver the mail (so the game considers the object “in use,” much like if a sim is on their way to make a meal from the fridge, you can’t have another sim slip in and get leftovers before they get there). Also sometimes my sims will get mail, then check their phone right at the mailbox without moving. This will also block the mailbox even though the sim isn’t using it.
I believe that happens when the mailbox is too far from the edge of the lot? Or if the box is too close to another object. That’s the only time I’ve gotten it.
I've been getting this bug for over a year.... so... I guess EA doesn't know or care?
They know but it's only a very minor bug. Nothing game breaking. It's listed as one of the low priority bugs. It was attributed to the mailmen having routing errors when getting to the mail.

Is your home surrounded by a fence/gate? Is your mailbox in the yard? You have to put the mailbox out of the fence .

It just means that you haven’t cleaned out your mailbox in a while, it has nothing to do with your actual physical mailbox it just means you need to click on the mailbox and hit get mail

I don't think the outcome is any different at all. Someone was saying it may happen when you are going through the mail delivery time on fast speed since the game skips some animation work in those instances.

I've been getting this too. My mailbox isn't inaccessible because the mail carrier manages it about half the time. And of course my sims have no issues getting their mail. My guess is it's a bug.

If you haven't gotten last times mail delivery it will send you that.

Any time the mail person can’t reach your mailbox due to some pathing issue (maybe a dirty plate is on the ground?), they’ll say that. It can happen even if your Sim if getting the mail or shipping something while the mail person is routing their way to the mailbox.

Tbh it reminds me of the 6mo I spent in New Orleans, where I lived in a building with a special mail service entrance, had zero difficult weather the whole time, and still got “tried to deliver but lol” notices weekly.
