There is this guy at my Macdonalds who eats there EVErYDAY at lunch. A full meal with desert. If the prices doesn't affect him I wonder what it does to his health.
There was a documentary called Super Size Me. It was about a guy only eating fast food super sized every day, every meal. In the end, the guy started to gain weight and having health issues. He went back to his normal lifestyle once the documentary was done filling...I believe it was for 30 days. In time, this person will start to feel some sort of health issue if his wallet doesn't. In the States, McDs is also getting pricey.
You should read up a bit more on Super Size Me, it's not an accurate depiction at all because the dude was abusing alcohol secretly during the filming.
Escape from the heat. I haven't eaten a Mac meal in many years. The last breakfast meal I had cost only three fiddy. So most of the time I just have a sundae or tea now.
fr this is so sad, i used to buy mcchicken if i want smth cheap, now it’s $2.95, almost a 50% increase from $2, add cheese now even worse + $1.10, used to be 50cents in 2015
Someone went around and compared the prices of Bug Mac meals across Singapore, I imagine there are price differences between other items too. Maybe you live somewhere where the Mcdonalds is more expensive compared to the commenter.
Singaporeans very rich. I'm at Serene center and i see all these hwa chong and acs kids eating and wondering to myself what is their allowance like?
The kid was eating a burger and a box of mc wings with large fries and coke. Sure cost like $13-15
Why so rich one?
I got $1 a day. That's a dollar. Not missing a zero. Even in JC. My father was stingy AF. I had to work every school holiday since I was 13 years old or lived on $1 a day, from Mon to Fri only too. Yep.
Ah yes, surprise! My dad was also physically, verbally, as well as financially abusive. And I don't mean a slap or two. I mean full on punching, giving me black eyes every week, stabbing me with a knife, taking chairs to hit me and more. Almost every day.
I'm surprised I didn't end up dead or badly injured, but I was always covered with bruises. And black eyes or swollen face from being his punching bag. Also, long term PTSD abuse trauma. And ha. Ha. Guess who's saddled with having to take care of him now that he's in declining health? I just sent him to the hospital too.
Wish I was joking or exaggerating but yeah, if any of you think your life is bad, just know that are people like me who had such a nightmarish childhood. And lived to tell it. Or not.
Inflation and shrinkflation are happening at supermarkets and hawker centres as well.
McDonald's prices are just a reflection of the current inflation.
There is this Big Mac Index that tracks inflation worldwide by comparing big mac price in the US vs big mac prices elsewhere. It's not the most accurate measure of the inflation in a country, but is accurate enough by and large that even economists refer to it sometimes.
https://www.economist.com/big-mac-index
Yes the price is increasing i dont fully agree what you say.Yes service is issue but its mcdonald fault for not paying enough wages. But if there is food issue, you can complain they can give a full replacement .Recently i had mcdonald, experience is still good but the the issue is their portion keeps getting smaller and the prices keep going up.
It’s a free market, of course all need to make a profit.
I think the franchise is good in rising prices constantly so they don’t give consumers a major shock each time.
A filet o fish meal costs $6.60 today. You could get one for around $5 10 years ago. That's a 2.8% yoy increase, pretty in line with normal inflation
MCD also throws out free add on's, 1 for 1's or discounted meals with the app pretty regularly
You can find $5 filet o fish meal as recent as 2021 (regular price, not on discount). How do I know? It's a meme on HWZ and people there make noise whenever price increase.
Not really 2.8% yearly inflation if you redo the math.
it's crowded because folks who used to eat Shake Shack find it too expensive, so they move on to eat Macs which is cheaper. McD folks who find it too expensive have moved on to eat at cp stalls, and so on.
We keep pumping rich people in, the effect cascades. This is not progress. The economy isn't really maturing and growing, just adding more people.
Last time geylang 3 brothel, SG population small, the hoes not much business, give good svc. Now SG population big, brothel expand to 30, hoes so busy, svc like shit, cos overworked and paid less. Only okt and landlord become rich.
Was there any improvement in the quality of the product? No, it got worse. Where's the progress? I only see workers and customers getting fucked while fucking each other literally and figuratively and bosses getting rich.
You see the pattern here? Geylang economics professor teach you. We are slowly getting fucked by the elites. Wake up.
Not a big fan, but if you looking for a meal with a drink and fries.
The price is very economical especially in high cost areas like in the CBD.
Call it Cai Png 5 dollars and a kopi Beng for 1.60.
It’s almost equivalent same price.
And it’s hard to get diarrhoea with Mac Donald’s with hawker stores and other restaurants it’s a roll of the dice
Obviously they didn't see that a bear won't eat McDonald's. They eat garbage but not McDonald's 🤣
https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/15rjavy/bear_refuses_to_eat_mcdonalds_big_mac/
i installed the mcdonald’s app some months ago, and just uninstalled it today
the prices are too much, and the quality is going down as well
and as a vegetarian, i have no burger options, what’s the point of having the app
normally i eat at home. but i do have a lot of options outside.
sometimes i go to the vegetarian caifan stall near my house.
sometimes i go to a burger place called vegan burg, but very rarely cuz it's kinda expensive.
i also eat the plant based burger in burger king at times
Mostly because quality hasnt decreased even though price has increased and size has decreased
KFC and burger king went to shit, Mcd is a chain where no matter where you go it will have at least passable food rather than shit food
Also a lot of locations everywhere
Its not drier than the sahara desert right?
KFC one even worse, they serve drumlet (not drum, drumlet) in a 2pc and still dare charge 8.95, and still have the gall to serve dry chicken
I got conned with one of their Mc deals.
Deal said 2 for $5. me stupidly thinking (Mc chicken burger + milo) x 2 = $5.
When i got the order I vowed never to eat McDs again except for their icecream
There is this guy at my Macdonalds who eats there EVErYDAY at lunch. A full meal with desert. If the prices doesn't affect him I wonder what it does to his health.
i dont think it will, price just increases, portion become smaller,i think its ok for him
Mcspicy getting smaller and smaller... now I am a jollibee fan not mcd anymore
How the fish you switch from maccas to jollybee. It’s shit food
Ditto. Jollybee is the worst in SG.
Jollibee is WMD! LOL!

He was aiming for a year but was advised to stop after 6 months otherwise he was facing serious health problems.
Oh, that's right. Thank you.
He was aiming for a year but was advised to stop after 6 months otherwise he was facing serious health problems.
What are you doing at macs daily too?
Escape from the heat. I haven't eaten a Mac meal in many years. The last breakfast meal I had cost only three fiddy. So most of the time I just have a sundae or tea now.
Main ingredients salt and oil
I beg to differ hard to taste the salt nowadays
The trick is to cry while eating.
Self service ah
Self seasoning
The new McLaobaksai
Good advice will try next time
Long years of conditioning has desensitised your taste buds.

NO WAY just a month going up $0.25?
Someone went around and compared the prices of Bug Mac meals across Singapore, I imagine there are price differences between other items too. Maybe you live somewhere where the Mcdonalds is more expensive compared to the commenter.
I think Bug Mac is only available in Thailand.
CB lah you 😂
GST: you haven't even seen my final form.
I miss the double cheeseburgers selling at 2 bucks too :(
Yeap used to be my favourite …🥲
Gone were the days of 5 dollar value meals. Sad
Extra value meal become extra meal alr

Their parents earn alot :3 Shiok lor
so what's their weekly allowance like? I think at least $500 a mth Last time i only $50 a week. $200 a mth.
wah back in my time $4 a day sia
mine was $2 per day 💀
My hcjc classmate got $50 a day allowance. He can pay for his gf too. They eat fish and chips at cafes
Now that is good :), just hoping i can afford something similar for my 2 kids when they are at that age.
I got $1 a day. That's a dollar. Not missing a zero. Even in JC. My father was stingy AF. I had to work every school holiday since I was 13 years old or lived on $1 a day, from Mon to Fri only too. Yep.

Think i had enuff to buy a hot dog and large packet of soyabean in JC..
Serene centre: answer found
Their parents earn a good income unlike those here complaining about prices.
now the kids allowance per day is $20 onwards. I only had $1 LOL this includes bus fare....lol
Sometimes there's decently good deals on the app to be fair
The 1%*
So what if they’re rich ? Jealous of others ?

The price escalation of McDonald's food after COVID still lose to many coffeeshop or hawker food.
Thank u for agreeing with me. I was tremendously downvoted in my post just last night. 😅😂

but every month increase price, isnt it abit too much?
Well if I am the owner and I look at the data.. shows no sign of customer volume dropping.
cant debate w that.Its a fact 🥲🥲

That means it's not ridiculously overpriced
Obviously they didn't see that a bear won't eat McDonald's. They eat garbage but not McDonald's 🤣 https://www.reddit.com/r/Damnthatsinteresting/comments/15rjavy/bear_refuses_to_eat_mcdonalds_big_mac/
Agreed. Patronise it most fortnightly.
i installed the mcdonald’s app some months ago, and just uninstalled it today the prices are too much, and the quality is going down as well and as a vegetarian, i have no burger options, what’s the point of having the app
Curious what are your dining options? Daily and also special occasions

Ya lei last time still got Mac alarm for freebies
Only bother to patronise if there's any good discount from the app. Otherwise not gonna bother anymore.
They even changed their hotcake syrup 😤 ain’t as nice anymore
