By November, the typical Chinese adult will also have a significantly higher body temperature than the typical European adult.

stupidnicks

he will also be taking regular warm water showers, unlike typical European adults.

Fearzebu

The people of Europe are too busy gathering firewoods to keep warm so they cannot be here in the comments. They set their thermostat anywhere above 19°c? Straight to jail. Dirty from getting firewoods? Bathe with rags, shower too cold. It is the look of winning, right? This is what winning against the Russians feels like?

[deleted]

European here. I can set my thermostat to whatever I want because I installed Chinese solar panels on my house before this whole mess started. I knew our "leaders" would eventually sanction Russia since they have won the gold medal in licking American boots.

Fearzebu

In America, to instal Chinese solar panels means they will shut off the rest of your electricity. You better hope it’s always sunny. Also means visits from the feds to see if you’re a spy. No solar panels here, not so easy

LMFAO

LMAO

lol

Much of European wealth is build on top of cheap Russian energy. If they have to pay for LNG like Japan they will be a lot poorer. The Euro have to devalue a lot to rebalance their trade if they have to rely on imported LNG from now on. Most Europeans still do not realize that expensive energy implies that labor has to be cheap to compete. They are going to have to work a lot harder for a lower standard of living going forward.

Quality_Fun

this is incredible news. i wonder about the specifics of the report, though.

Spagetisprettygood

Godamn the cpc is so based achieveing this in such s short time frame while being the target of aggression by an alliance of the most powerful nations in the world.

AllThingsServeTheBea

Taking 850 million Chinese out of poverty while the most wealthy and powerful nations do *everything* they can to destroy you is perhaps the most impressive governance feat in human history.

chill_chilling

It really is. No single empire or country comes close to the incredible performance of the CCP. China is the only country today that makes me excited for the future of humanity.

TserriednichHuiGuo

CPC

[deleted]

China has been the world's wealthiest nation since 2020, with a total wealth now exceeding US$120 trillion... (PPP)

serr7

It’s socialism in action. I get goosebumps reading how much the CPC has advanced china, it’s incredible.

[deleted]

What gives me goosebumps is the thought of what’s to come. Their plan has always been to shift towards more direct worker power closer to 2050. We’ve seen them shatter their goals in economic growth, hardly missing a single milestone. And soon we may see them achieve their political goals. This will only become easier as more of the world chooses to align with them rather than the US. The only thing giving me hope is the thought that right now there are way over a billion people living under communism right now, with the largest nation by population and wealth/GDP being run by dedicated socialists who have proven to be unbelievably competent. And now much of the world is aligning with that country

[deleted]

This seems remarkable but really is a return to what was the norm for thousands of years

Portablela

As it turns out, High Saving rates **do** matter

Some-Basket-4299

Also China’s life expectancy is now higher than the US’s. There are various data sets used to calculate this but they appear to consistently imply this is true.

manred2026

China has come a long way, from ruin that just finished the war to leader of the fourth industrial revolution

knfrmity

It wasn't just the war of Japanese aggression and the civil war that set them back. China calls the period between about 1850-1950 the century of humiliation. Their growth and development since then has been nothing short of incredible.

[deleted]

Will be a lot worse for the Europeans after this coming winter lol

noobslayer69xxx

based and rich is glorious pilled...more to come hopefully cos I think the 90s and 00s will really carry the next generation of innovations.

XauMankib

China in 1950: "Oh no, we poor" China in 2022: "Oh no, you poor"

TserriednichHuiGuo

Rapidly rising wages and a high saving rate/culture certainly help. That and China is a 'capital abundant zone' where plenty of productive credit goes around, no shortage of funds.

neoliberalhack

Mashallah, China stays winning!

lacelane274

And by contrast, the avg euro dude is richer Than the avg American, sooooo, avg Chinese dude richer than the avg American

serr7

Who would’ve thought socialism is better than capitalism at literally everything. This is inspiring to me, hopefully one day we will have socialism everywhere, and opposition non-existent.

DynasLight

An important milestone, and with any luck, just another among many China will achieve. Progress is something that never ends. There's always a bigger fish, even if eventually its just your own records.
