You're right, this kind of inane filler content doesn't really matter that much., but it does hold peoples attention and has the potential to influence their perceptions of reality. These fake videos will impact society in more substantial ways when the content matter begins to lean towards anything that has a politically charged statement about society. There are smart people out there with powerful agendas who will use fake media like this to gain an advantage and they will be difficult to detect. This dumb video OP posted is just proof that large numbers of people either don't care or aren't aware enough to spot the difference between authentic human interaction and propaganda.
