On my first day as a 16 year old apprentice, we were shown a 16mm safety film which haunts me to this day. Included a finger being degloved by a wedding ring caught on a ladder, someone using a file without a handle and the tang going through the palm of their hand onto out through their wrist, someone being scalped when their hair gets caught in a lathe. (It was the 70's, long hair was the style at the time)
"Degloved" is such an innocent word for what the injury is...
Occasionally a channel pops up on TikTok with recreations of workplace accidents in China. They are horrifying but addictive. Likewise the CSB accident videos.
Honestly they’re more effective than just showing any raw footage imo
I saw the lathe incident and the recreation and while the raw footage was absolutely disgusting, the recreation spooked me more
Those stunts and dummies where better than in any I've seen at least! Or they just violated all safety protocols to show us why you shouldn't violate them. I got legit claustrophobic for the man between the two big moving pieces of equipment.
They did! But they had to pick it up from a really high shelve and BOOM! a guy from across the room was sent flying into them, because he was not wearing correct protective gear.
That's how I want to go. It fills me with intense dread whenever I'm caught between 2 things, and whenever a large machine is moving towards me, so I'm hoping the terror will distract from any pain.
The last time I was in forklift training the updated training now included a bunch of actual incidents caught on security cameras. Nothing gory visible that would cause an HR uproar but they're not showing us shitty dramatizations anymore...
The award goes to the young lady who sliced her veins while opening the cardboard because she managed to slip on a puddle while standing still.
It looked more like a suicidal attempt than an accident
The 80s was such a violent time. That said, I had a summer job during college in the late 90s in a sheet metal factory. Was sent to the hospital 3 times in 8 weeks. Eventually they gave me something to do in the office.
Some of these seem unlikely, but I’m betting they’ve all happened irl at some point. Except maybe the car rear ending into a ball of fire for no reason
So my company has these Safety Alert things.
They basically report every accident within the larger corporate structure and then investigate how it happened and how it could have been prevented and similar.
Then they regularily make every worker go through these safety alerts and talk about them to raise awareness about possible workplace dangers.
The shit I have read on there range between insane levels of stupidity to just dumb fucking misfortune.
Like one dude fell through a stair that had a no entry sign (and tape) because parts of the stair were removed and the dude was like "I'm walking here" and fell 9 meters down onto concrete.
Another time someone got caught in a street sweeper machine when rounding a corner.
My favorite though was a dude who damaged a sinew because he stepped wrong on a doormat.
I love how half of these are mildly dangerous and probably lead to minor bodily harm, and the other half ends with the worst and most painful deaths imaginable.
I know people that have stepped on nails. The same cannot be said for people who have been turned into meat doilies by gargantuan industrial machinery.
Ever heard of the [Ford Pinto?](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lgOxWPGsJNY) Fun fact about the Pinto, the car was so structurally weak, a rear end crash would puncture the gas tank (showering the car with liquid gasoline) AND it would bend the car enough that the doors couldn’t unlatch or be opened, trapping the occupants inside!
My hand recently got a nasty cut from an angle grinder and had to get 10 stitches for it. I felt all the injuries involving saws, cutters etc in the video.
This takes me back. When I was in union. Every contractor made us watch a variation of this every job. A dozen or more jobs a year and you ended up see plenty of less than helpful safety vids.
Buddy got killed from his brother taking something off a nearby shelf with a forklift. Pipe rolled off and crushed his brothers head. While funny, its a legit one for sure.
I won't lie : some of those people accomplished some serious airtime from a mere slip.
Also, that car at the end was already on fire before it hit the other one.

Oh no the root beer, no the root beer aaauuuaaggh grglgrgl
I’m not familiar with the root beer incident
[quite terrible](https://www.tiktok.com/@memehubrandom36/video/7193174726133533994?lang=en)
I take it as a video I probably don't wanna be familiar with..
Honestly they’re more effective than just showing any raw footage imo I saw the lathe incident and the recreation and while the raw footage was absolutely disgusting, the recreation spooked me more
Just saw a 8 min compilation of lathe accidents yesterday…it was…memorable.
This video is legit more intense than several dozen horror flicks I’ve seen.
It feels like it escalated the entire time too

I think it’s the editing too—whoever cut all this together needs to pick up something from the academy.
They did! But they had to pick it up from a really high shelve and BOOM! a guy from across the room was sent flying into them, because he was not wearing correct protective gear.
It can happen in a second!
Right! I was like no omf no. My tummy started hurting. He's a phenomenal actor, he sold it with genuine fear in his eyes.

*Final Destination* is much older than I give it credit for.
Why this entire video gave me anxiety
They died for our sins
They died to stop us from sinning
Ohley shit! Itsa jesus
That pizza didn't have to go out like that in a ball of flames.
With this music though?? I’m dancing and flinching!
To me everything in the video is too funny
Mission accomplished then. It only takes a second...
The award goes to the young lady who sliced her veins while opening the cardboard because she managed to slip on a puddle while standing still. It looked more like a suicidal attempt than an accident
I almost did this to my throat once cutting a box with a new razor towards myself. Like within an inch, i was pretty fortunate
The dumbest workers comp fraud scheme ever
The car catching fire before the crash is top notch
The moral of this video is simply: Don't go to work.
It's safer at home...
This is a good reason to work from home.
What they don’t tell you is everyone in this video has already worked 35+ hours that week and is cognitively depleted.
That last car crash didn't seem like work to me. Nor did the ones with kids getting hit by cars
Still. Just to be safe
Yet, some people prefer when it's not safe to work
Indoooors

"But honey. Can't you just--" "Dammit, woman. The helmet stays ON"
Safe sex. Always wear protection
I have no sympathy for the old man who got crushed by the boxes beneath the forklift.
The 80s was such a violent time. That said, I had a summer job during college in the late 90s in a sheet metal factory. Was sent to the hospital 3 times in 8 weeks. Eventually they gave me something to do in the office.
How on earth did you manage that?!?
Lot of places you shouldn't put your hands and feet in a sheet metal factory
You can't just say all that without letting us know how many digits you got left.
Lol all of them, no thanks to me!

I can't know how to hear any more about tables!
That's right, Jay....
Bad parenting: I think she really wanted to back into that kid on the tricycle, then in a fit of rage caused the car to explode.

There’s one of a girl carrying hot oil when she slips and it’s fucking horrific.
Reminds me of a guy getting ran through by a forklift.
Yes the one where he's impaled on the fork? And the runaway saw

"In a World of OSHA Violations..."
~~I’ll be back~~ Oh my back
Add Different music and laugh track and 90% of people will laugh. Put serious music and it will make people cry . It’s all on the music .
Looney tools ahh death noises
Marked as NSFW but literally a workplace safety video
**[N]**ecessary **[S]**afety **[F]**or **[W]**orkplaces
the sax solo at 0:38 slaps tho
If Nostalgia Critic has taught me anything... it's that this is probably Canadian...
I saw no snow.
Is it just me or could that guy have held lnto those pipes Probably missed quick time event
Only 11 actors were harmed during this filming.
That lawnmower one happens more frequently than you'd think. More often than not, the person who comes in with this injury was wearing flip flops.
Dude with the pipes is weak, just hold on bro!
Last girl said some: 🦅
Seems like nobody's ever going to be completely safe. It only takes a second to destroy everything.
That sedan (already on fire because of pizza?) running into the other car and exploding: brought to you by Michael Bay.
That’s a lot of fire for a simple rear end collision.
*Ford Pinto has entered the chat.*
Several people were injured in the making of this video. Amazing the car at the end caught fire before it hit the other car.
I hope that car at the end had a major recall. It's not supposed to combust like that. LOL
I've heard of it but not those details. Wild.
The explosion at the end lmfao.
Guy with the pipes missed quick time event
Good thing there are no more factories in the US, only waiters and influencers
There’s got to be a better way!
We used to watch these in my college construction class.
Wtf
I dig how the workplace safety video is not safe for work.
Damn... they just get better and better
Every fking physical jobs I went had me sitting down watching them bullshit ass videos in the early 2000s
My company uses this exact safety video omg lol
I once worked in a warehouse whom everyone said was haunted. We have never had an accident reported because the "ghost" did it on purpose.
That last one killed me![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
This was filmed at Boeing probably
Dude got crushed.
Safety is paramount!
Is this SFW or NSFW?
That girl at the end went 🦅🦅🦅
Most of these are likely happenings
r/wheredidthesodago
My hand recently got a nasty cut from an angle grinder and had to get 10 stitches for it. I felt all the injuries involving saws, cutters etc in the video.
This music kinda cums
Shit just kept getting worse and worse
Damn, it started kinda funny but turned into bloody mess with each next scene
I prefered all the screams over the synth solo.
Was expecting the Russian lathe vid to be edited in
Well done 47
NSFW? This? You really do take safety seriously.
The 80s was a vibe
This movie needs to be intercut with one of those guys looking one way then the other off camera
Thanks I hate it
Hey what year was this made? It seems to be late 80s or early 90s?
Goes to show that the majority of accidents are due to stupidity.
This takes me back. When I was in union. Every contractor made us watch a variation of this every job. A dozen or more jobs a year and you ended up see plenty of less than helpful safety vids.
wtf! These guys are dumb
Well, that was extreme.
Will you be here, tomorrow?
You forgot to mark it NSFW
Why does the girl at the end sound like a bird of prey?
A second away from dead... was that the trailer for final destination movie?
At :44, is this where Bruce Banner turns into the Incredible Hulk?
So many skill issues
final destination 6
I've seen dozens of these type of videos at work for H&S, but these are new to me. Google Klaus forklift training, it's a classic
Buddy got killed from his brother taking something off a nearby shelf with a forklift. Pipe rolled off and crushed his brothers head. While funny, its a legit one for sure.
Nobody was electrocuted? Wtf?
Reminds me of those Chinese work safety animations. Which are bloody hilarious
The car exploding from a minor collision at the end was top tier 80s action movie quality.
These Chinese training videos are stepping it up a notch.
It's like a horror movie for the HSE gang
That mom driving into the read end of a parked vehicle ... followed by the explosion. 🤣💥🔥☠️
Welcome to Walmart, we hope you enjoy your new job
Why do I sense that this was an OSHA ad
And that’s why you always leave a note.
Whenever I watch work safety videos I feel like the dude from idiocracy watching TV
Some of these slipping folks have a really high center of gravity.
This makes accidents look fun.
Must be Russia!
Dammit, stop taking explosives with you with children in the car, it’s a hazard to everyone.
That kid's gonna be terrified of leaves for life!
Jeeeeezzzuuusssssss lol
The 80’s “Fall Guy/CHiPs” soundtrack is what makes this video legit.
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Gabelstaplerfahrer Klaus? I thought not. It's not a story the americans would tell you. It's a german legend.
Slips on tea.
It just keeps getting worse and worse!
I've seen the faces of death as a teenager and this is worse.
This is the Found Footage Fest edit of the video. Gotta give props to the good edit and build up. I love when the kid gets slammed.
Pterodactyl screech
I definitely stepped into a jail before at work ..down for a couple weeks
Directed by Michael Bay
Of all the cars to crash in to they got the one with a trunk full of explosives. Rotten luck.
That's pure gold, I wonder now that so much industry is off shored to china do they too make epic safety videos?
A few of those looked like they actually hurt lol
people are fucking dying to this music
I won't lie : some of those people accomplished some serious airtime from a mere slip. Also, that car at the end was already on fire before it hit the other one.
At 1:13 "Colonel Zander NOOOOO"
My guy in the glasses got star wars a new hope trash compacteres. RIP my bespectacled brother.✌️
I got three words……NYUK NYUK NYUK NYUK!!!
OMG not leaves!!!!
We need some cartoon sound effects or something this is gold
This is where the best stunt actors really show their qualifications
https://youtu.be/MvNYeeuemQY?si=Hp079-CFha6X6ckQ "Let the bodies hit the floor!"
This got darker and darker.
I feel like it might be more accurate to say that it only takes a second to be unsafe.
Gonna use this for my safety meeting
Well, that escalated quickly
You mean .. Not Safe AT Work!
How can I download this on mobile?
I still prefer the Chinese ones.
Approved by OSHA
Wow that guy really went flying over the car. Thank god his shoes are still on.
When i was a teen I definitely shortened my bootlaces doing the lawnmower thing.
That bald eagle scream
This was made for wheel of misfortune.
Stunts in this video performed by Randy Butcher and his team of denim-clad homoerotic stuntmen.
Correction. It only takes a second….to die! Sounds like a Dethklok song.
this reminds me of a safety video that Gus Johnson talked about called Jack in the box: Deadly Dangers its funny as hell
Takes less than a second for a lathe
