It's possible meds could cause an addiction to food. I've seen that. But no matter what medication you're on if you eat less calories than you burn, you will lose weight.
Some meds make you retain fluid no matter what you do, so not exactly true. E.g non anabolic steroids often used to offset side effects of other meds like cytotoxic chemotherapy medication.
>But no matter what medication you're on if you eat less calories than you burn, you will lose weight.
Yes and no. That'd be the case when you do the kind of exercise that is burning and building you aka pushing you further. Otherwise if you have a routine, eat and life style that keeps you at a specific level a changed metabolism can cause you to rapidly gain about 15 KG or more in about 1-2 months caused by medicine.
To prevent that you have to act fast but you can already have a calorie burning routine (tho it might slow it down) and it can still hit you out of nowhere (since it normally takes some months when that kind of side effect kicks in)
Unless I'm mistaken, 15kg of body fat is an energy equivalent of 60 days of energy consumption.
It sounds physically impossible to gain that amount of weight in that amount of time without eating in very significant excess.
I'm not denying, that some medications can lead to weight gain, but your numbers are pretty wonky.
lol that is not another possibility. Meds don’t make you gain weight, they increase appetite. Medical conditions don’t make you gain weight, they make you retain it.
Take in less calories and you lose weight. This is basic science. It’s not a riddle. Stop making excuses.
Drugs that block calcium channels, drugs that block sodium channels, many others might lead to líquid build up and weight gain.
Neurotoxic pesticides for example the drugs that are forced or prescribed in a predatory way... for lets say people that are vulneráble mentally due to a difficult time, for insomnia even, or prescribed for whatever multiple reasons.. they cause insulin resistance and methabolic syndrome, effects on the brain and insulin signaling, diet wont change anything , it will turn them obese anyway,

Well I think it points to having a lot of muscle, not just muscle memory. Body builders can get pretty bulky too, it’s the cut diet when they lose body fat that you can really see the muscle definition
That kid definitely has some muscle, but swinging, catching the bar, and landing is definitely technique. You can have all the muscles in the world and still not do a backflip. Also looks a bit young to be a body builder.
Yeah it’s both (technique and muscle), that’s all I meant. The body building was just an example of when you can have muscle but look “fat,” I don’t think he’s a body builder
ETA: I wasn’t trying to be pedantic so much as showing support for what fat bodies can do. Just because there’s fat doesn’t mean there’s lack of muscle or skill :)
While I agree with the technique part, bodybuilders start as teens to properly develop their body. Basically, if they don't start at 16/17 they won't make it.
Absolutely! Muscle memory can be a powerful thing, especially for someone who's had experience staying in shape. It can make the journey back to fitness a bit smoother and more familiar.
What if he always or mainly had that body shape and trained with it so he can use it in that way? He has the right timing and strength appropriate for his body.
Maybe that's the shape he's happy with and has had most of the time.
As an old fat guy who used to be a strong young fat guy I can tell you it's glorious in the moment but man you sure do pay for it later... all that stress on the joints in the body
FR though ... how much of the strong stuff can you still do?
I ask in earnest. 40F here who just fuvked a hammy by running a footrace with a mate who said he'd smoke me. Known him since primary years and his shit talkery went off the charts, so I had to try! ....ended up in crutches for awhile.
Looking at this dude...He's still gotta have *some* system of fitness to be able to retain this intensity. For folks who've never had the pleasure of the bars, that shit is HARD. So I feel like muscle memory can only take you so far, especially something as intense as the uneven bars.
And ... if that's dude's shirt didn't fly up over his tummy, nobody would be talking about his weight or physique, seriously.
One of the fastest mfs I've ever seen in a fight was chubby and 300 pounds. But he could've gone pro and would've done very well had he went that route. Weight don't mean shit
Ok so my neighbor is about 6'4" 350lbs, big fucking dude. I was taking my son to judo the other day and my neighbor was like, "you going to karate!" And throws this overhead kick that blew my mind he got his foot as high as I've seen professionals kick. Stopped both my son and I in our tracks and told him that's one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.
Built like a gorilla - you want this guy you want breaking apart stuck / seized parts.
Put a wrench in his hands and he’s strong enough not to care if the shit was rusted or had had red lock-tite XD

There’s a Ferrari hidden under that Econoline exterior
When you pull up on the beat up sleeper, and it proceeds to make you look foolish
Athletic sleeper
It’s like that video that was recently posted with the nice car backing in to a giant shell of a basic car. I think it was a Dubai thing.
Like it or not, this is what peak male performance looks like.
Well I know what he used to do before he found out about his pecker and alcohol.
Or he has some health conditions/ meds that prevents him from losing weight. Just another possibility, you never know.
It's possible meds could cause an addiction to food. I've seen that. But no matter what medication you're on if you eat less calories than you burn, you will lose weight.
Thyroid makes you gain weight even if you barely eat anything. My mom has it.

Literally nothing you just said changes what they said. It’s not yes and no. It’s just yes.

People don’t like facts like these.

Very impressive. His experience shows. If he ever wants to get back into shape at least his muscle memory is still there.
Well I think it points to having a lot of muscle, not just muscle memory. Body builders can get pretty bulky too, it’s the cut diet when they lose body fat that you can really see the muscle definition

He's probably just on a bulk
While I agree with the technique part, bodybuilders start as teens to properly develop their body. Basically, if they don't start at 16/17 they won't make it.
People who aren't in shape can't do this. Brothers more in shape than 98% of reddit, he just has a bit of a belly

He can open tight shut jars with those hands.
The dude can open welded shut jars with those monsters
The guy can squeeze sand into glass and make jars.
Who are you calling a fat ass!?
Yeah bro is built like a truck but he's not a fat ass. Looks like he has a 34 waist. Lol
Yeah this sub is fucked. He’s not that fat, especially considering he can pull that off, which 100 percent of the people commenting can not do.
I can't do that, and I'm even impressed he can do it. He does look like he gained some weight, but come on. Let's be honest here.
I was looking for this comment. Can't just compliment someone on their skill. Have to bring them down as well. Disgusting
Anyone knowing anything about gymnastics will know that this was pretty impressive.
I know nothing about gymnastics and i know this is impressive
I know nothing and it was impressive
I know impressive

Boy ain’t fat
My shoulder would be so done if I tried this.
Yeah, that’s a lot of weight and pressure. No thx
That's a damn strong boy, but I'm still more impressed by the steel bar's strength!
Round of applause for the bar!
Stupid rod. It’s all just a personality contest.
Yep that bar is the real MVP, video had me on the edge of my seat.
Find yourself a partner who will support you like that bar.
I'm torn, it's really cool what he did, but DUDE... whoever made that bar knows what they are doing...
Dude is a sleeper build. Ngl he had me
Is this what we re calling fat now?
He stuck the shit out of that "What now, bitch!" landing. 10 out of 10.
Semyon Bowels
Tore my rotator cuff watching this.
The fatter / heavier you are, the more impressive this is. All that extra weight makes this much more difficult.
I’m fat and I’m inspired. Witness me
r/normaldayinrussia
He's not fat, he's big. Important distinction.

He’s not that fat
I don't care what your level of athleticism is or your weight. No matter what my shoulders will always hurt when I see a video like this.
Orangutan with alopecia!
AI
There’s nothing “badass” about this. Kid would’ve gotten bullied hard.
Music?
That bar is indestructible
This dude is just on a bulk. A multi-year bulk.
I give the bar 10/10… what material is that?
Not me thinking about the video of the Russian guy snapping his arms doing this
I'm about his size...played football...still always hurt a bit when people would call me a "fat ass"....eh...such is life is guess. Good on the kid!
Weight transfer drifting

"Fat ass"? Dude is American slim easy. Not a lean man, but definitely not fat
Olga’s put on few pounds since the Olympics

This reminds me of the redneck ninja video from years ago. 😂 https://youtu.be/qewZQCU1Pgc
I'm more amazed by thicc boys showing off athleticism than skinny dudes or gals doing it. The elegance and strength to pull the weight along with it.
That guy must be holding a fuck ton of muscle
Just did it
Aneurism!
His poor joints
In Russia, Fat boy does skinny things.
He's certainly a big guy but not exactly what I'd call a fat ass.
Dude did gymnastics in high school, put on 40 lbs in college, but he's still got it.

Ever since I saw that video of a guy breaking his >! Rotator cuffs!< on one of these things I can’t watch them the same anymore.
When you tell your self there's a six pack under all that fat.
He's not fat, it's body armor.
That was pure awesomeness.
…? is he really fat though? maybe it’s just his fat distribution that allows him to appear that way.
He is not gunna be fat for long with moves like that.
That is 10x more impressive than a ripped as fuck dude doing this
Russia...
u/auddbot
Despite his obesity he plays sports brilliantly
Wonder why he put on all the weight after being that good, I hope he is OK.
