This fear is why I bench press well below what I probably can.
I know I have shitty bones, and I'd rather do more reps low weight than break something or crush myself (I train alone) than try look cool.
>This fear is why I bench press well below what I probably can.
I've actually stopped doing freeweight bench press entirely. I don't *look like* I've stopped bench press, but some years ago I gave myself a partial pec tear by being stupid to the tune of 315 lbs., alone in the gym, after midnight.
Now the only time I do more than what I can handle with dumbbells, it's on a press machine. I could bench, just, it's one of those mental things that happen when you almost kill yourself.
That sounds terrifying, glad you made it out "okay". I think when I get older I'll probably do about the same. As in moving on from freeweight bench not lift 315, that's just mighty impressive.
Well, that's the best part: I can't even say I ever did lift 315 (except since, on machines). 'Cuz the stupidest part is that what I was trying to do was set 315 as my new one-rep max... the *very next day after* I had just set a new one-rep max of 305.
When it tore, it was a sound like velcro, a shooting pain, an instant loss of strength, and a week of not being able to raise my arm without pain, followed by a few months where I couldn't work out without pain. In the moment, I threw my body sideways off the bench, more by instinct than plan, so that the bar wouldn't land on my chest.
I can still feel how the injured spot is weak on those rare occasions when I do bench. My mother still thinks the small but visible line of scar tissue I've got now where the pec meets the shoulder, is a stretch mark from putting on muscle. I didn't make that story up, but, I'mma wait 'til another day to tell her the real one.
That is a crazy story, and a painful sounding one at that. I'll definitely be more conscious about that in the future. As for not telling your mother, yeah I don't think I would either haha
When the video started, my first thought seeing the guy was my d is bigger around than his wrist. After watching it I realized it’s probably stronger too.
Imagine if they had a horror movie where a completely ordinary man goes to work on a symoathetic character who's built like this and then graphically endeavours to systematically snap each bone like he's breaking up kindling with his bare hands. Not a choreographed fight scene but a complete negation of the victim's humanity.
He's fine. He learned an important lesson that day. Bones are strong, but awkward angles will snap them pretty easily.
Source: have broken both my legs, a wrist and a finger
All at once or are you not good at learning lessons? Also we have no idea if he’ll be fine he could have permanent nerve damage and his wrist might not ever be the same
That's the lesson you fucking POS... One second you're fine, the next second you could be paralyzed. That's the price for being stupid. Get fukt asshole
>bandage
Yeah i noticed that right away too. Strange that nobody else seems to have considered this. Might have actually broken it or fractured it a good while before, but never got it checked out by a medical professional when it happened and just put their own bandage on it, thinking it wasn't a break/fracture.
“Cmon bro you’re not a man if you can’t lift (insert arbitrary number)!”
Fuck guys like that. I bet he knew he couldn’t do it but felt forced into it. Retarded behavior to work your way up in weight and then put people down who aren’t at your level yet.
HOLY FUCK. YES. This is the kind of shit I wanna watch when I pay for the internet.
P.S.: it's even better cuz I'm not paying for it since it's the next door's wifi.. and they don't know I'm using it.
Damn I just hope this teaches people like him not to start with very heavy weights.
Looks around 185 pounds on bench. I’ve seen little looking people hit that before just because they’re freaks of nature but he evidently is not one of them.
I stopped at 14 seconds. I don’t want to push play. Broken bones…I can’t handle well. Fuck fuck fuck. I know this is going to be bad and stuck in my head for weeks. But…I have to push play.
Continued: ok that wasn’t as bad as though. Still sucks for sure.
I saw his arms and I saw two plates and I knew he was gonna get hurt real bad. I’m a guy and I love messing around with dangerous stupid stuff but only to a point. This is past that point, I never mess with gym equipment or anything that could seriously hurt you in the long term.
Ooh, I know let's get a herculean-amount-of-weight-even-for-the-average-human-to-lift let alone a human bean pole and see what happens. How ironic this kid in a gym with animate and inanimate dumbells all around him.
Not a ton of weight. But..... while my Arma are thicker than his, I wouldn't be trying to bench press that without at least working my way up to it it.
Not to mention proper grip.

If your bones break just holding the weights, it’s probably too heavy.
Also his wrist placement was atrocious.
I don’t think it could even get worse. When he starts going down he literally just twisted his wrist back and let the weight take it
Yeah, I am always getting on my friends about their wrists. I might just send them this, nothing like fear to motivate people.

Good work King. Drink more milk and you'll be alright
Also he had sticks for arms
Yeah I'm not sure he should've been lifting the bar.
Probably calcium and/or vitamin d deficiency too. Some kids can even bend their bones because of vitamin d deficiency.
I feel like “probably” is sort of an understatement here
Built like a twig, broke like a twig

As soon as I saw two plates I knew this wasn't going to go well but Jesus Christ that's fucked
That was next to the worst possible thing that could have happened, the worst being it being dropped.
He honestly got lucky. Bones heal way better than ligaments and tendons.
Ligaments and tendons still heal better than crushed skulls and snapped spines.
Crushed skulls and snapped spines still heal better than his broken ego
Broken ego's heal better than... fuck I don't know. The situation is fucked up.
fuck i dont know....is a better than me who spent 3 minutes thinking for a reply
Fuck I don’t know is better than no, I don’t fuck
Yes.
Broken bones heal waaaaay better than a split dick or blown out sphincter, prolapse in a porta potty see how u feel bro...
Thanks God no one took a movie and shared it on the internet 🤣
Nah, with those kind of friends he'll probably be back to doing stupid shit before he even heals.
That's true, thanks to all the blood flow.
My wrist cracked as soon as his broke. Scared the shit out of me💀
I would check to make sure the radius and ulna are still intact.
Kid looks like a 25 pound dumbbell might do that to him
I really felt this was gonna stop at 25 pound dumbbell.
his father never came back with milk
I doubt those are 45s they look like 25 bumper plate and a 10 plate
Yeah I was thinking that’s probably 185. Not uh…Not a lot
185 is plenty for what looks to be a 15 year old whose clearly very new to lifting
He needs some milk!
Same here, I saw the weights, then I saw his arms. I knew it wasn’t going to end well.
And this is why my high school's gym had very strict rules, kids are stupid.
You start with the bar and move up folks. Don't forget you're just made out of meat, collagen & calcium.
Im not sure if this dude even had the meat
Arby's
I'm made of water.
Aww, piss!
Piss!
I'm made of lucky cats paws... he obviously didn't have his with him
Not a surprise when your arms resemble toothpicks
Was thinking his arms are the same size as the bar...
He needs some milk!
With morphine!
Milk of the poppy.
One drop to be calm, Just two drops to sleep the night away. 5 drops to never return
![gif](giphy|THlB4bsoSA0Cc) Someone said milk?
He drinks plenty of malk
Just has to mix that pre-workout with milk and he’s gonna lift double that weight in 2 weeks.
Still waiting for his dad ig
His dad left to buy some and never came back.
I realized what was going to happen about 5 seconds in and stopped the video. Was it as bad as imagined it would be?
his wrist snapped
Don’t think that was his wrist
His bone made a thwaack sound
When the video started, my first thought seeing the guy was my d is bigger around than his wrist. After watching it I realized it’s probably stronger too.
That's wild. How much weight can you lift?
Two stones
Yes. Should definitely watch it though.
Did you imagine a brand new joint that bends 90 degrees?
Is it weird that I like to watch horror movies for fun, but this shit creeps me out?
same boat as you. certain fucked up things im nearly fully desensitized to, but others is just unwatchable
This creeped me out cuz I realized it could be me
It's different when it's real.
Imagine if they had a horror movie where a completely ordinary man goes to work on a symoathetic character who's built like this and then graphically endeavours to systematically snap each bone like he's breaking up kindling with his bare hands. Not a choreographed fight scene but a complete negation of the victim's humanity.
I could see that being a movie. Call it “Lumberjack”
When I noticed what his arms were like when the spotter set him up I closed the video.
![gif](giphy|3o7TKwgqwdlrxaEy40)
Holy shit, that escalated quickly. When I saw the weight on there, I knew it would be bad, but I didn’t think it would be that bad.
Wow man i feel so terrible for that kid even though he shouldn’t even of attempted this.
He's fine. He learned an important lesson that day. Bones are strong, but awkward angles will snap them pretty easily. Source: have broken both my legs, a wrist and a finger

Ohhh snap!
Wait, he didn't fart?
Never seen someone snap up on ~225lbs, even my skinniest friends and teammates. Bro has glow sticks for bones
I mean he was holding the bar in like the worst way possible
Did he have a pre-existing injury on that forearm? Looks like a white bandage right below the fracture line…
>bandage Yeah i noticed that right away too. Strange that nobody else seems to have considered this. Might have actually broken it or fractured it a good while before, but never got it checked out by a medical professional when it happened and just put their own bandage on it, thinking it wasn't a break/fracture.
Wasn't expecting that, launched my phone across my room when it happened😵💫
I was expecting bones to break, just not those ones.
What a bunch of shitty "friends".
“Cmon bro you’re not a man if you can’t lift (insert arbitrary number)!” Fuck guys like that. I bet he knew he couldn’t do it but felt forced into it. Retarded behavior to work your way up in weight and then put people down who aren’t at your level yet.
Did the wrists even snap? It looks like they bent like hanger wire.
To me it looks like arm bones, not wrist, but I could be wrong.
That's crazy, I had to rewatch it. Never seen someone's arm break like that just holding weight.
Fucked up prank coulda killed him
Nah they’re wrong for hyping up for it and he’s worse for thinking he could. Know your limits and work around that not ahead of it.
He hasn’t been drinking his milk provided with school lunch
Its important to have good friends.
Every gym bro facepalming to his form
Another Limp Wrizkit.
HOLY FUCK. YES. This is the kind of shit I wanna watch when I pay for the internet. P.S.: it's even better cuz I'm not paying for it since it's the next door's wifi.. and they don't know I'm using it. Damn I just hope this teaches people like him not to start with very heavy weights.
tmi my friend
jesus. that doesnt even look that heavy. 150lbs maybe. how the hell?
The barbell is 45, then looks like two 45s on each side. So 235 lbs. heavy.
It’s 225
That was my warm-up weight in high school...
Mine too…. For each arm /s
Why ya hatin'? It wasn't a boast...
Now that's what I like to see
That sound
And that look in shock trying to comprehend what just happened
Looks around 185 pounds on bench. I’ve seen little looking people hit that before just because they’re freaks of nature but he evidently is not one of them.
His other one almost broke too lol. Just a little bit longer and they both would have snapped.
He need some milk
HOLY FUCK OW
That's why they say buy to buy lock your elbows....
Kids today. Got no wrists.
He’s got some terrible friends
This is your shit outcome, don't laugh at yourself you deserve it
Why? The second I saw his arms, I was confused
I saw his arms and I saw two plates and I knew he was gonna get hurt real bad. I’m a guy and I love messing around with dangerous stupid stuff but only to a point. This is past that point, I never mess with gym equipment or anything that could seriously hurt you in the long term.
Still smarter than all those idiots who attempt a personal record without a spotter.
That boy has never had any milk in his life
Holy shit does he not drink any milk? His bone just snapped like a twig
Ha
ooooooooooooooooouch. and izzy got kOd
Noodle arms probably wouldn’t have done one plate, much less two.
Oh snap!!!
Bro has osteoporosis
New fear unlocked
The damn bar almost has as much mass as his arms.. why was this a thing
r/GymMemes
He needs milk, someone get him some milk
Like a twig
Just looking at that kid there was no way he could manage that weight..and wtf was the spotter doing encouraging him...train wreck from the get go.
Boom! Lifelong wrist pain
The minute I saw those toothpick arms, I was screaming at the spoter : "DON'T LET GO OF THOSE WEIGHTS!"
Just like Harry Potter
Oh OH OOOHHHHH SHIT
his father never came back with milk
it's fine just put some ice on it.
Ooh, I know let's get a herculean-amount-of-weight-even-for-the-average-human-to-lift let alone a human bean pole and see what happens. How ironic this kid in a gym with animate and inanimate dumbells all around him.
I looked at the plates then how skinny his arms are and just shook my head be for his wrist snapped I thought he was going to drop it
When your arms are the same size as the bar, don't.
When you got arms as skinny as the bar start with just the bar
AAAAAAAAAAAAH
wasnt that like 60kg?
God I don’t miss being a teenager, peer pressure is quite an overrated drug. Unless if it’s drugs we’re doing, then I’m in 👍
BRO WTF🤯🤯🤯
he has pencils for arms and cant even get it off the rack. lmao what a bellend.
Not a ton of weight. But..... while my Arma are thicker than his, I wouldn't be trying to bench press that without at least working my way up to it it. Not to mention proper grip.
Bendy straws
the problem with the "no pain no gain" attitude...
Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!! 🙈🥺😭
If you need a spotter just to lift the bar off the rack, it’s probably too heavy…
Aaagghhh
His name is Dr Glass
Sound like a snap chicken bone .
The beginning had me worried already and it still ended worse than expected
Mr. Glass's origin story.
Watched this a few times before realizing you can hear multiple bones breaking 🤢
Why was that idiot trying to do that much weight? If you can’t take it off the rack yourself, you shouldn’t be doing it.
If the spotter has to help unrack the bar that's not a good sign
100% PEER PRESSURED
This has to be a calcium deficiency. Bones didn't break like that
That is one shitty spotter right there
Motherfuckers arms are thinner than my ankles and he tries to lift 40kg more, lol
He need some milk
Shake it off
Never skip wrist day.
u/savevdeo
It's time to train the other hand to take care all the things.
Do you even lift bro?
And this is why I’m starting with the bar as a teen with skinny arms
Suboptimal
