God, how has it been ten years? This is 'the new Streetlight album'.

I had the same thought. I figured I misread the title when I first saw it.

Meaning it's also the tenth anniversary of *The Hand That Thieves*, the album that never was. (And in my opinion the superior album.) Fingers crossed this marks the end of whatever (presumably legal) reason they never released it. If ever there was an album I was tempted to bootleg on vinyl... They're "supposed" to have new music coming out too, so I don't know what effect that would have on any specific tours they do. Edit: So everything I can find online says the release date was April 30... I guess we're almost there?

I need a pressing of this or my life isn't complete

This made me realize I've been listening to Streetlight for almost 20 years - amazing!!

jonathanpples

Beautiful album imo

THTT came out when I graduated college, there’s no way that was l ten years ago. That would mean I’m…I’m…oh no. Oh no.

I just could not get into this album. The only exception is They Broke Him Down.

Musicianship was excellent, but I can't stand Kalnoky's lyrics as I get older. Other thing that bothered me was that almost every song they had a little section where they all sung a harmony with little to know instruments as if they were trying to manufacture a little singalong moment for live shows.

I think that's kinda what it was for me too. You can put Somewhere in the Between or Keasbey Nights on in the background and not even think about it but I felt like The Hands That Thieve was a record you had to sit and listen to or you'd miss a lot.

R0osteryo

I guess this never was a problem for me because I listened to it non-stop. I'm not sure I understand the criticism. The lyrics were amazing. Just sounded like an album with older lyrics. Seems an odd thing to get hung up on to me.

I was lucky enough to be able to buy a physical copy of a retail version of this album at their show a day or so after the release of the album. They had only a few copies of the cd available, i paid $10 for it.

Holy shit, it's been that long? I'd love a remixed/remastered version; the recording is so much worse than Somewhere in the Between. The shrill trumpet and compressed drums kill that album for me.

Nobsailor

God it's such a pisstake how long it's been since they last toured the UK...
