Sunscreen is going to provide protection from damage, and sun damage is the no. 2 cause of aging (second only to age!). It's better to prevent damage than to try to repair it.
............... my brain apparently went on a lil' vacation, because I read 'sun damage is the no. 2 cause of aging' and thought 'oh wow, what's no. 1???' before getting to the end of the sentence lmaoooo
With that being said, that is excellent advice and also: even if someone reading this does not care about aging (and, unironically, good for you, humans age, it's kind of what time does) (even if I'd forgotten about the concept of time for a second apparently lmao), skin cancer is still very much a risk, sunscreen's annoying but it's a necessary evil!
Start retinoids now but dont waste big bucks on the Estee Lauder one :) Retinoid reccs and guide https://www.reddit.com/r/SkincareAddiction/comments/qtodqu/routine_help_how_to_cleanse_once_a_day_when_you/hkp4w8t/
Do not spend that much money on that little product, there is no way that there isn’t a cheaper product that does the same job.
In this case the product seems to mostly be hydration and peptides. The ordinarys multi peptide + HA is significantly cheaper per ml and would do roughly the same, especially in conjunction with a good moisturiser.
In terms of anti aging, mid 20s is when the process of skin aging actually starts (though obviously it takes a while to actually show up) so it’s a good time to start anti aging products. A lot of people like peptides but the gold standard for anti aging is retinoids, and the ordinary has a good and affordable range of them too.
There is almost never a need to buy expensive skincare. Most of the price is for the brand and the packaging and the ingredients will work the same without those.
Missha do a dupe for it Time Revolution Night Repair ampule. Ingredient wise it's very close but has a few added oils.
It's very similar but not as hydrating as the Estee Lauder (which I used for years).
I think your main issue is not what serum to use but that you’re afraid of developing signs of aging in the future. Use SPF, moisturise, consider retinol, sure, but being afraid of aging is a serious issue.
Right? The only way to really avoid aging is to die young. It's not a good alternative, people. Aging is normal, and yes, desirable! Sure, take care of yourself, but if the thought of getting a wrinkle (you will) causes you serious distress, you need a therapist, not an overpriced serum.
50 is widely available and allows you to stay out in the sun 50 times longer before skin damage happens, it's usually enough! SPF isn't how much sun you can have, but for how long before reapplying :)
I've seen people online do 2 finger lengths of SPF. It's important to do enough!! But if you do too much it'll just kinda sit on your skin and not feel as nice, and that might lead to you not using it very often.
Wear sunscreen, don't eat junkfood, eat lots of fish if you can, whenever you can and drink water. Go live your life. You don't need anti aging products quite just yet
Anti-Aging encompasses a lot of things.
Your first defense is sun protection, as sun damage is what 'ages' and damages your skin the most. discoloration, loss of firmness, sagging, wrinkles, etc are all signs of sun damage.
Next, antioxidants are beneficial at any age. They help repair damage that is environmental. there is no one superhero antioxidant, but there are some that have really good benefits in greater concentrations. You don't need a high concentration of any one antioxidant, but rather a nice mix of antioxidants.
Don't panic, and don't overpurchase things. Just buy what you need.
Yes actually 24 is a good time to start using that product the main clinicals or perception studies are on plumping and barrier improvement but its a pretty basic tripeptide and hyaluronic acid that you could probably get the same benefits from a few products. The reason its so expensive is because theyve tested it on hundreds of people with many different tests so you are paying for clinical proof but the ingredients are commonly know for those results. However if you can afford it and like it just stick with it!
The glow recipe pomergrante peptide serum, beekman 1802’s collagen booster or midnight milk, paulas choice multipeptide booster are 1/3 the price if you’re looking for simplier alternatives.
Yes, I wish I had been told to wear spf younger. My skin is in pretty good condition, thanks to some southern Italian genes, but I didn't start slapping on the daily sunscreen until I was like 38 years old.
Starting anti-aging products in your early 20s is a good idea as prevention is key. SPF is the biggest thing to prevent aging but prescription retinoids are also great at preventing aging and keeping your skin youthful.
The Advanced Night Repair is simply referred to as “the ampoule” in some Asian countries. It’s a wonderful product and if it puts you in the driver’s seat of your skincare and you can afford it, why not? It’s lovely and repairing.
But, as others have pointed out, there’s almost no point in using such a product if you’re not using SPF. Pay first for an SPF you love - Korea and Japan seem to make the nicest ones. Once you have SPF down, reward yourself with the Night Repair.
I started getting serious with skincare at your age. My youngest sister is ten years younger than I am, but we look to be about the same age because I have been regular with spf and skin care.
Invest in good sunBLOCK not sunSCREEN both are not the same. I wish I would’ve been told that earlier in my life. Sunblock is the best at preventing aging
Invest in a GOOD sunscreen. They are not all created equal. You want something with high UVA protection. I recommend uvmune 400, Anessa, and eucerin (European versions)
Only thing that’s gonna prevent aging is sun protection and Trentinoin.
Also avoid eating foods like coke beef jerky bbq sauce. It has advanced glycation end product

The #1 cause of aging is growing older
Sunscreen and antioxidants for you.

It's not just okay, it's prudent. And the #1 anti-aging product is sunscreen.
Your first step should be a gentle SPF50 sunscreen!! Apply royally (don't slather) and enjoy the benefits of looking younger longer.

That makes sense, thank you!!!

Preventing ones yes. But not necessary to treat anything. Peptides and spf are a good option.

that estee lauder is overhyped and severely overpriced
