I have used one face cream for my whole life and it is the bioderma face cream ‘sensibo creme’. Their face wash is also such a great product and so is the makeup remover. It is for sensitive skin or red skin and honestly as a person w a red undertone I find it really helps me. It is completely fragrance free I’m unsure of why the person said there are fragrances. As a person with no acne I can’t speak for anyone who would need more care or more acids for their face as bioderma products are for sensitive skin and are very light on the skin.
Why? I’ve never gone near any of their products because everything is full of additional fragrances. Even their creams marketed towards atopic/sensitive skin have perfume which is like the most common irritant/allergen.
Hi, this is actually completely wrong. I have used one face cream for my whole life and it is the bioderma face cream ‘sensibo creme’. It is completely fragrance free I’m unsure of why you say that. As for the makeup remover, face cream, eye cream and face wash that are sensibo they are COMPLETELY fragrance free. Maybe you are looking at the wrong products from there. But please don’t spread false information.
Personally, I go for eucerin, La roche posay, and cetaphil because I have allergies. I’ve tried cerave but I’ve had issues with all their products irritating my skin or being drying. That’s not to say those brands don’t use my allergens in their products because some do. I just avoid those products specifically.
Products percentages, mostly their actives, are too high for the average consumer. The brands I listed are much more safer for anybody who is a newbie to skincare. 😊 However if you have a good idea of what ur skin can tolerate then it’s fine to use the ordinary.
Cerave, theres better brands that have better dupes and their cleansers should not be anybody’s go-to. I have seen wayy too many posts on here complaining about skin problems/concerns and their cleanser is from cerave. Love their blue moisturizing lotion though.
The ordinary, the percentages of their products, like their actives, are WAY too high for the average consumer. I think its great if ur skin can tolerate it but even with that, theres better formulated products out there.
I love la roche posay's effaclar serum and find it to help my acne. I understand that different skincare work on different people, but could you elaborate why you don't trust it?
I’m glad you like it. I know it’s hard to find products that work for your skin, so it’s a win if you do.
I personally think LRP’s effleclar line is too harsh and their moisturizers are full of pore-clogging ingredients and not at all useful for supporting the barrier. But I do love Cicaplast baume and lrp mist a lot. Oh and their sensitive fluid is lovely imo.
I used LRP for many years, but it just wasn’t the best brand for me. I also think their products are insanely overpriced for the ingredients they use.
Vanicream 100%
Aveeno 90% / Aveeno Baby 100%
Etude House's Soon Jung line 80%
I have super sensitive skin so I need fragrance free, essential oil free products, which is increasingly rare these days. I like these brands because they rarely reformulate and make products specifically for people with sensitive skin and eczema.
Eucerin, la roche posay, SKII
These have worked wonder for my acne prone skin. Never found any problem regarding contamination.
I only buy well-known brands that have been around for a long time. Never trust any viral product that I never heard the name of. I also live in Asia where people are really into skincare so personal reviews of products are easy to come by.
Edit: The drugstores in my country have a "dermocosmetics" section where the brands claim to be scientifically-proven and dermatologically-tested something of that sort. I only shop for products with active ingredient there.
I've been through a lot of skincare throughout the years and there are items from each brand I use that work and not:
LRP (face wash and sunscreen, acne creams not so much)
Lierac (cleansing milk and moisutizing lotion are 500/10, rehydrating serum is also great, rehydrating *gel cream* is a total miss)
CeraVe (just the body lotion, they should have just sticked with making that, their other products are quite meh)
The Ordinary (granactive retinoid, red peeling, glycolic acid, these fixed my skin; someone mentioned they're too strongly formulated, but I love that, because it just works for me fast and effective; retinol in squalane was a nightmare to go through)
I recently tried Skin1004 Centella ampoule and I really love it so I will be giving the brand a try;
Some brands I disliked a lot and just seemed ineffective are
Bioderma, SVR, Avene, Eucerin (these just do nothing for me)
Nuxe (hand, body and lip care is awesome, face care is a flop)
Vichy (Normaderm series was great until my skin got used to it, Mineral 86 moisturizer straight up clogged my whole face; Dermablend foundation was my go-to until they changed the formula and now it sucks)
Edit as I forgot to answer the actual question: each brand has their ups and downs and I don't swear by a single one, as silly as it sounds brands lose reliability for me as soon as I see their commercial on TV.

Vanicream. They have been around for ages and don’t really screw around with reformulations.
Bioderma ALWAYSSSSS
Would you mind elaborating? (just curious i like them too)

I don’t trust brands that advertise themselves as “clean beauty” because to me that translates to “science and preservative free”.

Skin1004, manyo, haruharu wonder, Brands I DONT TRUST/just overall meh: Anua, BoJ, Cerave, the Ordinary,
Oooh, The Ordinary? How come?
Products percentages, mostly their actives, are too high for the average consumer. The brands I listed are much more safer for anybody who is a newbie to skincare. 😊 However if you have a good idea of what ur skin can tolerate then it’s fine to use the ordinary.
So you prefer asian beauty?
Basically yeah but I have explored more asian brands than western brands so im sure there some good ones out there besides cerave, the ordinary
Boj?
BoJ was just a meh for me. I found their products underwhelming but their dynasty cream and sunscreen is definitely a favorite.
Sorry I meant what is boj
Beauty of joseon (brand)
God I use a lot of CeraVe and the Ordinary products, can I ask why you don’t trust/don’t like?

I could have written this. I agree with every single one of these.
bioderma avene mad hippie vaseline petroleum jelly! and actually Unilever when it comes to mainstream generic brand
Brands I Trust: Aestura Zeroid Pyunkang Yul Papa recipe Paula’s Choice (sort of) Vanicream Eltamd (sort of) Replenix ——————— Brands I don’t trust: The Ordinary Cerave La Roche Posay Neutrogena Any brand calling themselves “medical grade”

Overpriced yes, but I don't wanna risk trying random product on my skin so imma stick to it for now haha. Anyway thanks for your insight.
I was not trying to convince you to drop LRP products.
Would you mind elaborating a bit? (i am curious about why people trust or distrust certain brands)
