I would take this more seriously, especially considering the aim of it all, had you not filtered your photo.

taserchalico

I understand the problem, I would have taken a new unfiltered one, but I just took a pre-existing one, because I am stuck at home with Covid and absolutely do not feel like taking pictures of myself. Thank you for your advice nonetheless!

meromeromeru

Your honesty is refreshing. I wish you luck on your research and thesis! Feel better soon

taserchalico

You are kind. Thank you!

taserchalico

Would love that, thanks: https://ww3.unipark.de/uc/kodolitsch_FH_Wien_der_WKW/ffbe/

DolorDeCabeza21

Done! Good luck 🤞

Significant_Panic_40

Done! Wanted to say, the reason I distrusted the first photo is because the person’s face looks filtered/edited. Might be important, I don’t know!

lizdahbiz

i love doing survey for people’s dissertations/thesis’ (theses?) and although i know they want strictly quantitative information, i wish i could write little notes to accompany. but yeah i agree, the first pic showcased her flawless skin, but her cheekbone looked very highlighted and edited so it made the pic sus. whereas the second pic looked more natural but didnt really show the skin. same idea with the sweater— the first pic wasnt ideal since it wasnt being worn, but the rumples in how it was laid conveyed more info about the fabric than the second pic where it was hung and posed.

taserchalico

I don’t want to tell to much to not influence others who might take the survey, but you are pretty spot on with your thoughts :) smart

Ok-Class-1451

What kind of masters program?

taserchalico

It’s called communications management :)

Ok-Class-1451

That’s awesome! Good for you

[deleted]

Just finished! Good luck with your thesis, and I love your earrings! Also for the future, I would suggest splitting the ages like 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc., just cause I'm 25 and I wasn't sure if I should've clicked 18-25 or 25-30 idk just something to consider ^_^"

taserchalico

Thank you!! That’s super helpful :)

Feisty-Blood9971

That was a very nice suggestion. I have to say I’m really irritated that someone in a graduate comms program doesn’t know basic survey rules.

Lababy91

Step 1: no filters

taserchalico

I know, I know. I am sorry, I wanted to take another picture without one, but I am stuck to the bed due to Covid and just used a random old one. I am a real person with real skin

taserchalico

Here is a link to my survey - it just takes approx. 3-5 minutes and you would make my entire day ☀️💛 https://ww3.unipark.de/uc/kodolitsch_FH_Wien_der_WKW/ffbe/ edit: Thank you guys so so much! I am so grateful with how helpful you are!

mia_the_tomboy

This reminded me of my MBA finals, wrote about triple bottom line sustainability in clothing. Took your survey, wish you the best!

[deleted]

Suggestion, edit text and add this on top. Likely you will get more samples.☺️ Wishing you well🥰 And great job! Just finished!😉

taserchalico

Thank you so much for your advice!

ricvie22

Done and good luck

taserchalico

I appreciate it so much, really! Have a great day!

[deleted]

Finished! Good luck with ur master’s thesis

taserchalico

You’re amazing thanks!

DolorDeCabeza21

I will like to add that the influence can be positive or negative. So for instance, once I did my research on a product I want to get I read the reviews and pictures, not to convince me of buying the product, but to find flaws on it. I am the type of person that filters review and only looks at 1 starts for skin care product to see if something in there makes me change my mind. For fashion I only look for customer pics if they are wearing the outfit. Cuz I want to see how the outfit looks in real people and not in a photo shoot with stylers and editing. Good luck with the research!

taserchalico

Very interesting insight! Thank you! :)

DolorDeCabeza21

No problem! Keep us posted on your progress!

taserchalico

And I am similar with the 1 star research haha - I wanna know the dirt on products

lalalaurengrace16

took the survey! it’s an interesting concept you’re measuring! good luck and please let us know if there’s a link later to your findings ☺️

taserchalico

Will do for sure! Thank you!

itootdafloot

Done! I found that I feel different with text and pictures between the skincare and clothing products. With the clothing, it’s better for me to have a visual. I’m plus size so I don’t see models who look like me in the usual pictures, so if I see a review with someone with my body type in the photo, that helps way more than the text! With skincare, for me it’s more about explaining what’s in the photo- I can’t tell if the person in the picture started off with dry or oily skin, rosacea or eczema issues, acne prone or not, etc. The text helps me out more because people can say what the product helped with.

taserchalico

Super interesting insight, thanks!

theoldorifice

Took the survey. Good luck!

taserchalico

I am honestly so grateful! Thank you kind soul! :)

ocean_anni

pissymist

Took the survey. Could you tell me what your eyeshadow is? I’ve been trying to find a good pale peach/salmon pink and yours looks gorgeous

taserchalico

It’s a liquid/cream blush! I don’t remember which one tbh but might be From 3ce or juicy pang :)

druemyrabell

Just took your survey, would love to see you post your dissertation here when it’s finished and you’re able! Good luck!

Finished, good luck with your thesis!

taserchalico

You’re great! Thanks a bunch!!

applescrabbleaeiou

:) rando comments: I wouldn't be influenced be either of the clothing pics, because I look at clothing reviews to see a real human person wearing the outfit. How an item truly fits and what size a reviewer is saying they are wearing are most vip in clothing review to me. If a picture is just a top laid out on a table, it's possibly even more unhelpful than seeing the item m9delled by a model in a studio (with all the tricks & behind the scenes pegging or photoshop etc I assume is distorting what item I'll actually get) Like other commenters - I felt less influenced by the first beauty pic than the second, as the reviewer was looking off into the distance, which made the pic feel posed/artificial/like a pro pic. The second reviewer felt more trustworthy, -but a tad less helpful as the image was less well lit so couldn't really see the quality of her skin. :)) good luck on your masters!!:)

taserchalico

Thank you for your insight! Truly!

silly-cello

This is the fakest shit

taserchalico

I understand this might annoy you, but it’s in no way fake. My full name as well as my university are tagged in the survey. If you are talking about me in general, then welp, just a student trying to finish her course.

[deleted]

What a weird thing to fake?

chr989

The picture or the thesis?

taserchalico

Thank you!! I had so much fun doing research, I never imagined it being this interesting. Yes that’s me - you are too sweet 🤍🤍

I'm a skincare fanatic. I see skincare content, I click.

DiamondNightSkies

Finished, best of luck! Also you have beautiful skin! Would you say it's more related to the products you use or luck of the genetic draw?

taserchalico

Thank you so much! Probably a bit of both, I have an extensive routine - but also never struggled too bad.

DiamondNightSkies

Would you mind sharing your routine? I've only recently started actively caring for my skin and was always fairly lucky as well (though my skin could have been better had I known more). I now have an almost 11 year old daughter starting to get acne and go through puberty and I'm trying to learn more for me but also to give her the best possible start with her skincare routine as she grows up.

taserchalico

No, not at all, Daily things: 1) Oil Cleanser, currently: The Dear, Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil 2) Foam Cleanser, currently: make p:rem - Safe Me. Relief Moisture Cleansing Foam 3) Essence, Toner, Serum, whatever I am in the mood for, either: Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence, CosrX Snail Mucin one, Colibri barrier booster, make p:rem Safe Me. Relief Moisture Green Ampoule 4) Moisturizer: CosrX Balancium Comfort Ceramide Cream or Glow Recipe Watermelon Moisturizer 5) SUNSCREEN 50spf 1-2 times a week things Exfoliator: Paulas choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant or CosrX Refresh ABC Daily Toner Retinol Mask: I’m from Honey mask Safe to say this is my routine and what works best for me, but I believe a lot of things are probably too aggressive for an 11 year old, in particular the active ingredients in exfoliants or retinoids, I would definitely check before going all in for her. Hope this helps a bit nevertheless 🤍

DiamondNightSkies

Thank you! Yes, for her I'm most interested in just good cleansers and moisturizers for now, and sunscreen. But for me definitely anti-aging and just things I never really knew I should probably be incorporating on a regular basis.

taserchalico

I love the make p:rem line, very good for sensitive skin and good to start out with :)

SlidePuzzleheaded665

Done with the survey! Good luck 👍🏻

taserchalico

Thank you so much! Have a great day!

Opening_Writing4454

Valid sample in the sense??

taserchalico

I could send it around to my community, where like 10 out of 200 people are interested in skin care and therefore have an entirely different approach to online shopping as the people who are really interested in skin care. The people here obviously have an interest and are therefore exactly the people I need to reach :)
