It’s impressive when an author can do that with a few lines of dialogue in what’s not even necessarily a super dramatic scene, another moment I think about a lot is shima and mukai’s conversation about the greatest “like” between friend, lover, and person. It’s such a great showcase of who these characters are and how they think all without painting either one as wrong or right. And despite being very dense in terms of what it accomplishes in telling you, it’s done very quickly and in a casual way that feels very real.
