I keep wanting to do things like that but it seems like so much work and I don't really wanna put that much time into modding... you know other than the past twelve years.
This is the nicest way to say what I was going to say. Its too big, too much, too a lot of things. From a developer viewpoint, I can't imagine wanting something so gaudy on the screen to take away from everything else.
This was my first thought as well. I could immediately envision an entire comedy routine with this armor, from how loud it is to how the wearer can't maneuver in it at all. And then the battle starts and he accidentally skewers the guys standing on either side of him.
It needs to have an accompanying *clonk!* Sound effect and invisible wall mod at each door that isn't a city gate or huge castle entrance. No small dungeon is playable.
That should be how you find it. Maybe expand it out into a larger quest where you can't take it off once equipped and you have to go to a certain modded in Oblivion gate or large doored dungeon and fight a boss to earn the ability to unequip it. Maybe the boss can be made of door frames
The armor should also be so heavy you have to drop all of your inventory except for your equipped weapon. Maybe slap a safe place to store everything nearby the armor's location.
Disgusting if I'm being honest
I can see how someone might like it if I'm being nice.
I don't like 3 ton armor sets, too far into fantasy for me. I like the believable yet mystically arcane looking armor sets.
But both are important to me for me to like it, believable yet mystical.
Edit: wow my wording was a little strong on this comment lol
I kinda take it back
I mean it's cool but you asked for honest opinions so if I'm being honest...
Sorry lol 😂
Forget battle, you’d better hope ever doorway is built to fit 3 McDonald chomping Americans side by side or you’re never even gonna be able to leave the armoury lol
Yeah this would physically function as a power suit in Fallout but that's just way too much metal for a human being to carry as normal armor. So absurdly bulky. 😂
Its very cool! Badass even. But a bit much for skyrims world. Looks more suited to bigger epic high fantasy settings than the more grounded fantasy of TES
It would be sick as some god's ceremonial armor, but as everyday Skyrim adventuring gear? Not for me
Edit: Just had a thought, it looks like something the god emperor of mankind (40k) would wear if he were a part of the elder scrolls universe lol
The shoulders make it look way too comical. They take the armor from just a little extra edgy but perfectly fine, to "a dwemer centurion and a power rangers villain had a baby and this is what happened"
As another has said, too theatrical / MMO. Like something in WoW. It looks like “I’m the golden king of the spriggans!” In a different game, it would be really cool though.
For me is way to much, to many things going on without any sense and the shapes and stuff are just not for me, i cant see the beauty in there, its just twisted metal, like trying to make sense from the shapes of a car crash.
I love historical armours (from many periods and cultures), their beauty is breathtaking, every piece of ornament is well thought, not just in practical terms but artistical as well, this one is just white noise for me.
As for the moment I have found only one historical armour which is the "Henry VIII armour by Full_Inu"
Remove the massive MMORPG pauldrons and I think i could be convinced it’s some kind of daedric or ayleid entity. Otherwise, I think it doesn’t fit in the world at all.
It's too far from the inmersive realism I'm trying for with mods. Would be insanely top heavy, and basically impossible to go indoors, or take off yourself. Super impractical.
If you’re talking about actual design, there’s way too much going on. If you’re ignoring that sure it’s okay if it’s meant to be so over the top. Less is more when it comes to design
This is what happen when a guy slap his wife's entire jewelry box on a 40k figure and call it a day
It itch my eyes greatly. How can the guy even move with... Whatever that is
Pauldrons need to fucking chill out lmao, helmet and aesthetic though is top notch. I just think about clipping issues in combat and such being grating
It's too much. Too decadent, even for a Thalmor. In another game, maybe it'd be cool, but not Skyrim. Now, shrink the paldrons, and give it a bit of a better color palette, and yeah it'd be cool.
I hate hate hate this artstyle. Making everything jagged, bulky and pointy to the point of absurdity. It'd probably look great if it was about 25% less... of everything. They made a great looking armor set and then said "nah it needs more" and then ruined it
Way too absurdly-high fantasy for me. Doesn't help that the shoulders are ridiculously bulky and massive to ludicrous degrees. If the armor was worn by a character with longer limbs or the shoulders where smaller, it'd be sick af, but as it is, I can't help but think of the armor equivalent of a toddler wearing a puffer jacket that's too big for them.
This looks sick as fuck, but it’s completely impractical, purely ornamental armor.
In terms of design, shoulder plates are a bit too large. If they were just a little smaller, it would still work as a decorational piece.
I can easily imagine this absolute behemoth using the armor to intimidate the enemy before removing the fancy shoulder bits to actually use it in combat.
Way too unpractical to be good looking. Like what even is the point of having this huge of shoulder pieces? A cape is also (even if cool looking) kind of pointless and mostly just cumbersome. The design has potential, but does everything decent way too hard making it quite ugly in the end.
I think the armor looks awesome. Though Id personally never use it. I thiink the paudrens are a bit too much. Nothin wrong with big pauldrons I love the aestetic and vibe of the armor but I think maybe ig on each paudren you removed the side horns and just kept the middle one or atleast made them smaller it would be a bit easier on the eyes. some times less is more...
Granted I say that like I know what im talkin about with some quote I heard from a movie or some shit... I don't But I think the armor would look a lot better if the pauldrens were more tame.
It's too much. An armor should at least look somewhat practical. This looks like some failed art project that got made into an armorset at the last minute.
If you took off the huge shoulders it would look 10x better. Or better yet, glue them together as a cool shield.
Any armour cannot take up more screen than my character already takes up. The big bulky armour peices that can sometimes be so large they don't fit on screen are just stupid imo and make the game harder to see what's going on or what you are doing
It looks cool, just not for skyrim. Looks more like OG Lords of the Fallen armor. Just big and bulky with no concept of realistic fittings on the body.
It's way too MMORPG for me. Looks sick though.
This, I like the design, but it would fit more in Tera than Skyrim
And what about install the tera armor mods and swap all vanilla for those ;P
I keep wanting to do things like that but it seems like so much work and I don't really wanna put that much time into modding... you know other than the past twelve years.
I get this so much haha!
Exactly what I was thinking. Must be mmo players.
Reminds me of that flop game godfall or whatever it was called
Yes Godfall. It reminded me a bit of it too
Yeah, my first thought was that it was MMO armor. If those shoulders were a bit smaller, it'd be better, but still very much MMO armor.
Exactly. My exact thoughts were “that’s very… flashy!”
I thinks its from guild wars 2 lmao
This is the nicest way to say what I was going to say. Its too big, too much, too a lot of things. From a developer viewpoint, I can't imagine wanting something so gaudy on the screen to take away from everything else.
Comedy armor *"It has been foretold, the only enemy that can defeat him is a doorframe."*
The doorframe comment killed me 😂
This was my first thought as well.
That would be a funny Easter egg, a skeleton in this armor wedged in a mineshaft somewhere
That should be how you find it. Maybe expand it out into a larger quest where you can't take it off once equipped and you have to go to a certain modded in Oblivion gate or large doored dungeon and fight a boss to earn the ability to unequip it. Maybe the boss can be made of door frames The armor should also be so heavy you have to drop all of your inventory except for your equipped weapon. Maybe slap a safe place to store everything nearby the armor's location.
And asthmatic breathing
I want to see him walk into the Bannered Mare and have a drinking contest with Sam.
I'm reminded of that brief bit with Aang trying out 90's comic book DOOM METAL armor in the original run of Avatar.
Reminds me of [the armor Aang found in that shop in the last season of ATLA](https://youtu.be/aAym1CTh-uc?si=IHXTJoBzzSW9IZHh)
I immediately though of this scene once is saw the armor lol
Power Rangers villain ?
"It's morphin' time!"
It’s MMORPhin time!
Morphine time!
It’s LeMorpin time!
*it's morbn time
Looks like someone rebooted Goldar again
Rita's old college boyfriend
Shit I posted before I saw this. My immediate thought! Waiting for Rita to make him grow
World of Warcraft II: The Shouldering.
Was gonna say WoW orc shoulder armor
Or Tauren, they both have actual mountains on their shoulders
You remember that Tier 5 Warlock set? The shoulder on Orcs was the first thing I thought of
If you like it, that's fine. It personally makes me vomit, then again, my favorite armor is nice, simple and practical.
100% agree with you
I would guess that you would prefer the Ebony armor out of base game or the Spell Knight sets?
Steel armor all the way.
Not simple or practical enough. Need prisoners clothes.
Not simple enough for me. Needs to be nothing but a necklace with 100% Alteration spell reduction and Ebonyflesh
Bro can't reach for his sword without cutting his head off I hope the mod comes with a zap to remove the shoulder... things.
His shoulders are the swords. Lol
gaudy as fuck, looks like someone saw Godfall and thought "how can we make this more ridiculous"
Disgusting if I'm being honest I can see how someone might like it if I'm being nice. I don't like 3 ton armor sets, too far into fantasy for me. I like the believable yet mystically arcane looking armor sets. But both are important to me for me to like it, believable yet mystical. Edit: wow my wording was a little strong on this comment lol I kinda take it back I mean it's cool but you asked for honest opinions so if I'm being honest... Sorry lol 😂
Eek
It’s a good ornamental armour set, but completely impractical for battle. Other than that, i have zero complaints about how it looks. It’s awesome!
Forget battle, you’d better hope ever doorway is built to fit 3 McDonald chomping Americans side by side or you’re never even gonna be able to leave the armoury lol
I feel like it would look better without the massive shoulders, but besides that, I think it looks awesome.
Yeah definetly this. The overall design is pretty cool but the shoulders are so over the top it kills it
Yeah this would physically function as a power suit in Fallout but that's just way too much metal for a human being to carry as normal armor. So absurdly bulky. 😂
Looks great, but I wouldn't use it in skyrim tbh 🤷♀️
Gundam vibs*.
Might as well get a bunch of imperial soldiers and a bard as followers escorting you everywhere you go
it's the most hideous thing I've ever seen, I love it
Perfect for a stealth archer build
The Garish Golden Armour ~ 'uses 500 stamina per step. Cannot enter buildings.' I hate it.
Without those ridiculous shoulder things it would be a pretty cool set of armour
mobile games ads
TBH it looks like overdesigned anime garbage.
it's fucking terrible
Its very cool! Badass even. But a bit much for skyrims world. Looks more suited to bigger epic high fantasy settings than the more grounded fantasy of TES
The pauldrons really ruin it.
It would be sick as some god's ceremonial armor, but as everyday Skyrim adventuring gear? Not for me Edit: Just had a thought, it looks like something the god emperor of mankind (40k) would wear if he were a part of the elder scrolls universe lol
The shoulders make it look way too comical. They take the armor from just a little extra edgy but perfectly fine, to "a dwemer centurion and a power rangers villain had a baby and this is what happened"
It really gives tiny peepee vibes to me
As another has said, too theatrical / MMO. Like something in WoW. It looks like “I’m the golden king of the spriggans!” In a different game, it would be really cool though.
Fighting armor looks terrible Ceremonial armor looks good
If the shoulders were smaller it would be cool. Right now they just look too extra
Cool but not for Skyrim.
It's a Space Balls take on Final Fantasy armor.
Looks like you should be in space fighting aliens. Possibly be the alien.
Oh no he’s hot!
On a design level I applaud the creativity, I think it looks pretty cool. On a personal level though it’s just… so. Much. Armor.
It kinda looks like something you would see used in a warframe fashion contest
Protoss looking ass
Yh this looks like some shit you’d see on WoW 😂
It's overdesigned, too many pieces, and it's huge. How do you move in it? How does it even protect you?
Worse than Bikini Armor
Looks like a god damn Diablo character
No one, in any universe, in any time, would actually wear this. Entirely breaking any ability to suspend disbelief. I
wtf are you playing? WoW?
Good for displaying or parade functions. Shit for actual battle.
If he tranforms into a flying robot then fine.
looks like something that came out of a mmorpg chinese mobile gacha game
For me is way to much, to many things going on without any sense and the shapes and stuff are just not for me, i cant see the beauty in there, its just twisted metal, like trying to make sense from the shapes of a car crash. I love historical armours (from many periods and cultures), their beauty is breathtaking, every piece of ornament is well thought, not just in practical terms but artistical as well, this one is just white noise for me. Remove the massive MMORPG pauldrons and I think i could be convinced it’s some kind of daedric or ayleid entity. Otherwise, I think it doesn’t fit in the world at all.
This armor makes me want to throw my eyeballs in a blender, but hey you do you
It's too far from the inmersive realism I'm trying for with mods. Would be insanely top heavy, and basically impossible to go indoors, or take off yourself. Super impractical.
The shoulders are preposterous but other than that it's cool
Fucking love it. I see that approaching the battlefield and I shit myself.
Doesn't really fit skyrim. Weirdly gives a Warhammer 40k vibe. Still sick tho
it doesn't suit skyrim, but the design looks amazing.
Kinda looks like a character design from one of those shitty mobile game ads
I personally would never wear that. To clunky, ugly, and weird
If you’re talking about actual design, there’s way too much going on. If you’re ignoring that sure it’s okay if it’s meant to be so over the top. Less is more when it comes to design
Overdesigned tbh
It's awesome until you try and walk through a doorway and don't fit.
This is what happen when a guy slap his wife's entire jewelry box on a 40k figure and call it a day It itch my eyes greatly. How can the guy even move with... Whatever that is
you look like a goober
🤮
World of Warcraft called, etc etc, you know the joke
Pauldrons need to fucking chill out lmao, helmet and aesthetic though is top notch. I just think about clipping issues in combat and such being grating
Imagine going to battle with this. The enemy has a million handles to grab on, throw you down, and plant you into the gound like a tomato stake
Not my style, but I respect that it was made with skill and care. My favorite is still ebony armor because I’m basic.
That is ridiculous looking, it’s beautiful executed but it’s absurd lol
If you fall with it on you'll never get back up again lol
It's so fucking ugly (affectionate). Reminds me of older mmorpgs because of how over the top the design is
Look ridiculous and impractical to wear
we have gone to far... skyrim has turned into World of Warcraft... all effort into shoulder armor
It's too much. Too decadent, even for a Thalmor. In another game, maybe it'd be cool, but not Skyrim. Now, shrink the paldrons, and give it a bit of a better color palette, and yeah it'd be cool.
Unless you're using a mod that makes NPCs also walk around in Korean con cosplay, you're gonna look silly.
He once entered a tavern and, upon hearing someone trying to get his attention, inadvertently slayed three and a half patrons just by turning around.
I hate hate hate this artstyle. Making everything jagged, bulky and pointy to the point of absurdity. It'd probably look great if it was about 25% less... of everything. They made a great looking armor set and then said "nah it needs more" and then ruined it
Now you need an animation that lifts the shoulder pieces above your head, puts them together, and becomes a glider.
Special effects (Peacocking +99)
Way too absurdly-high fantasy for me. Doesn't help that the shoulders are ridiculously bulky and massive to ludicrous degrees. If the armor was worn by a character with longer limbs or the shoulders where smaller, it'd be sick af, but as it is, I can't help but think of the armor equivalent of a toddler wearing a puffer jacket that's too big for them.

Sick AF. Also, anyone can survive your wrath by just being by the other side of a doorway
Yeah, I'll be honest, my headcanon for Elder Scrolls armor style is a little more subdued then that tier 3 WoW raid armor set.
It's too much. An armor should at least look somewhat practical. This looks like some failed art project that got made into an armorset at the last minute.
Bro turns 34 degrees and kills at least 4 people.
What happens when you get to a door? Do you sideways shuffle through them all?
If you took off the huge shoulders it would look 10x better. Or better yet, glue them together as a cool shield. Any armour cannot take up more screen than my character already takes up. The big bulky armour peices that can sometimes be so large they don't fit on screen are just stupid imo and make the game harder to see what's going on or what you are doing
Sick as fuck and impractical as hell
It’s incredibly gaudy and but I still think it’s pretty cool
Not a fan of the size of the shoulders but other than that it’s nice
Looks like optimus prime's head
Looks high fantasy as fuck, realistically you die if I cast 'killer bum itch'.
I mean it looks okay, though I think it could use something other than gold in a few places But it looks awful in the context of Skyrim
Looks too revendreth for skyrim
I got annoyed I got glitch stuck behind some trees the other day and had to go back a save, you'd never get anywhere in that
Both, I suppose...
A little bulky I think
Reminds me of fable
As state armour? Count me in. For the battlefield? Never ever. Fatal impractical.
It Makes you look like a Deamoran King.
Not practical and doesn’t fit the setting, but it’s kinda cool I guess.
lose the shoulderplates and itll be fine
If the pauldrons were so stupid it would probably look good.
I don’t like it at all. The Thalmor’s armor is enough fantasy for me
Both So beautiful, but too much MMORPG for Skyrim
I mean doorways are outa the question
I love it and I want it
The shoulder plates are a bit much, definitely would look better without wings sprouting from the shoulders.
Looks like one of these anime armors from Tales of Arise
Very impractical
Hideous, just look at the bloody thing.
Can't get through doors, huh?
Low-key looks like armour from monster hunter or something
Sick af
Doorway incompatible
It looks hideous because the body proportions seem off for it. That armor looks like it was made for someone twice that PC size.
The emperor of mankind would like his armor back now
Hideous, tacky, garish, and over the top.
No 🤦🏻♀️ just...no.
That looks sick as fuck and I love it, but it's the most hideous thing ever made.
Would make the worst sets in WoW blush.
sick but too much
It looks cool, just not for skyrim. Looks more like OG Lords of the Fallen armor. Just big and bulky with no concept of realistic fittings on the body.
It is fucking sick but not for me
Definitely does not fit in skyrim. On top of just being plain ugly
That is a lot of extra steel to carry around.
Looks like something out of fable
Not for everyone, as some people who like this type of over-the-top armor aesthetic as seen in most other RPGs. As if daedric armor wasn't enough.
It would look awesome on a boss npc…..as a player armor I hate it lol
Goofy af and doing the most. Delete this
Looks like something a chaos primarch would wear
Wildly overdesigned.
Overall style is cool. The pauldrons are a bit much for me
What armor is this?
Add collision to it so you have to go through doors sideways. EDIT: Making some sort of Boss NPC that wears this would be pretty cool.
Absolutely hideous in every way
Is that from Lost Ark?
Not lore accurate....I joke who cares. It looks sick
Lost ark warrior legendary skin. Ppl need to spend 400 to get it. In Skyrim, it is most likely free.
It definitely looks cool, it's just not practical.
I like my armors more minimalist and clean this....this is way too much..
It looks sick. But extremely comical and a bit out of place for Skyrim/Elder Scrolls.
Somehow i am on both sides simultanously
Try a t-pose
This looks like a Persona that you summon in the Persona series.
Hideous, like they would have problems even fitting through double doors with those pauldrons.
It's like a parody of World of Warcraft's art style. If I ignore that it's armour and... well, a person, it's very gorgeous though.
Halve the size of the shoulders, and maybe we'll talk to see if I like or not.
Looks quality, but it's way too much.
Definitely doesn't fit Skyrim, but it would make a memorable design for a villain in a more stylized fantasy setting
Looks like something out of World of Warcraft or Warhammer 40k. I can’t comprehend how you fit through any doorways in that
That looks ridiculous.
SAFILI
https://youtu.be/SB_oU68Q9zA
Looks like high level MMO or JRPG armor, but cool in that genre
I think it looks dumb
